Description
Daren L.Deffenbaugh及びAnthony D.Zannisにより、2009年10月30日に出願された、米国仮特許出願第61/256546号、表題「PROSTHESIS FOR CEMENTED FIXATION AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE PROSTHESIS「(代理人整理番号DEP6035USPSP1)に対して優先権が主張される。本出願はまた、2007年9月25日に出願された、表題「Fixed−Bearing Knee Prosthesis」の米国特許出願公開第US20090082873(A1)号(米国特許出願第11/860,833号)及び2009年11月17日に出願された、表題「Fixed−Bearing Knee Prosthesis Having Interchangeable Components」の米国特許出願公開第20100063594(A1)号(米国特許出願第12/620034号)の一部継続出願であり、その開示は参照としてその全体を本明細書に組み込まれる。

(1) 中実金属関節表面及び骨嵌合表面を有する第1金属構成要素と、

中実金属搭載表面及び反対側の骨嵌合表面を有する第2金属構成要素と、

前記延長部は患者の骨に埋め込まれた際に前記金属構成要素を安定化させるように構成され、
前記延長部が延びる前記金属構成要素の前記中実金属部はチタンを含み、
前記延長部の前記露出された外側表面は異なる形態のチタンを含む、人工関節。
(2) 前記第1金属構成要素及び第2金属構成要素がチタン合金を含み、前記延長部が市販の純チタンを含む、実施態様1に記載の人工関節。
(3) 前記延長部の前記露出された外側表面が多孔質チタンを含む、実施態様2に記載の人工関節。
(4) 前記延長部がチタンフォームを含む、実施態様3に記載の人工関節。
(5) 前記延長部が前記連結部で厚さを有し、前記延長部が前記連結部における前記延長部の全体厚さにわたってチタンフォームのみからなる、実施態様4に記載の人工関節。
(6) 前記延長部の少なくとも一部分が少なくとも65容量%の空隙を有する、実施態様5に記載の人工関節。
(7) 前記延長部の前記端部における、前記延長部の前記露出された外側表面が、前記端部と前記連結部との間の前記延長部の前記露出された外側表面の少なくとも一部とは異なる粗さを有する、実施態様5に記載の人工関節。

(12) 前記人工関節が人工膝関節であり、
前記第1金属構成要素が大腿骨の遠位端を置換するように構成された遠位大腿骨構成要素であり、
前記第2金属構成要素が脛骨の近位端を置換するように構成された脛骨トレイである、実施態様5に記載の人工関節。
(13) 前記脛骨トレイの前記搭載表面が中実チタン合金を含み、前記中実チタン合金が前記搭載表面から前記骨嵌合表面に向かって延び、
前記延長部が市販の純チタンのフォームを含み、
前記延長部が焼結によって前記脛骨トレイの前記中実チタン合金に結合される、実施態様12に記載の人工関節。
(14) 前記脛骨トレイの前記骨嵌合表面が、焼結によって前記脛骨トレイの前記中実チタン合金に結合された市販の純チタンフォームを含む、実施態様13に記載の人工関節。
(15) 前記大腿骨構成要素の前記関節表面が中実チタン合金を含み、前記中実チタン合金が前記関節表面から前記骨嵌合表面に向かって延び、
前記延長部が市販の純チタンのフォームを含み、
前記延長部が焼結によって前記大腿骨構成要素の前記中実チタン合金に結合される、実施態様12に記載の人工関節。
(16) 前記大腿骨構成要素の前記骨嵌合表面が、焼結によって前記大腿骨構成要素の前記中実チタン合金に結合された市販の純チタンフォームを含む、実施態様15に記載の人工関節。
(17) 第1表面及び前記第1表面と反対側の第2表面を有する中実金属基部を提供する工程と、
前記中実金属基部と組み合わされる多孔質金属延長部を提供する工程であって、
前記多孔質金属延長部及び前記中実金属基部の前記第2表面は、前記多孔質金属延長部及び前記中実金属基部を組み合わせるための、補完的な搭載構造体を含む、工程と、
前記多孔質金属延長部及び前記基部を組み合わせる工程と、
前記多孔質金属延長部及び前記基部のアセンブリを焼結して、前記多孔質金属延長部を前記基部に結合する工程と、を含む、整形外科用インプラント構成要素の作製方法。
(18) 前記多孔質金属延長部の形状とは異なる形状を有する多孔質金属プリフォームを提供する工程を更に含む、実施態様17に記載の方法。
(19) 前記基部の前記第2表面に接するように前記多孔質金属プリフォームを配置する工程と、前記プリフォームを前記基部に焼結する工程とを更に含む、実施態様18に記載の方法。
(20) 前記多孔質金属延長部及び前記多孔質金属プリフォームが一体型であり、前記多孔質金属延長部及び前記基部を組み合わせる工程と、前記多孔質金属プリフォームを前記基部の前記第2表面に接するように配置する工程とが同時に行われる、実施態様19に記載の方法。
Claims (10)
- 中実で金属の関節表面及び骨嵌合表面を有する金属の大腿骨構成要素と、
前記大腿骨構成要素の前記関節表面を支えるような形状の関節表面及び反対側の表面を有する軸受と、
チタン合金を含む中実で金属の搭載表面及び反対側の骨嵌合表面を有する金属の脛骨トレイ構成要素と、
前記脛骨トレイ構成要素の前記骨嵌合表面との連結部から、露出された端部へと延びる延長部であって、患者の骨に埋め込まれた際に前記脛骨トレイ構成要素を安定化させるように構成され、チタンフォームで形成された露出された外側表面を有し、前記骨嵌合表面との連結部における全厚さにわたってチタンフォームからなる、延長部と、を含む人工膝関節であって、
前記延長部と前記脛骨トレイの前記中実チタン合金とは焼結によって互いに結合される、人工膝関節。 - 前記延長部の前記露出された外側表面が多孔質チタンを含む、請求項1に記載の人工膝関節。
- 前記延長部の少なくとも一部分が少なくとも65容量%の空隙を有する、請求項1に記載の人工膝関節。
- 前記延長部の前記端部における、前記延長部の前記露出された外側表面が、前記端部と前記連結部との間の前記延長部の前記露出された外側表面の少なくとも一部とは異なる粗さを有する、請求項1に記載の人工膝関節。
- 前記延長部がペグ及び茎部からなる群より選択される、請求項1に記載の人工膝関節。
- 前記大腿骨構成要素および前記脛骨構成要素のうち少なくとも1つの前記骨嵌合表面が多孔質金属を含む、請求項5に記載の人工膝関節。
- 前記多孔質金属が市販の純チタンを含む、請求項6に記載の人工膝関節。
- 前記脛骨トレイ構成要素の前記骨嵌合表面が、焼結によって前記脛骨トレイ構成要素の前記中実チタン合金に結合された市販の純チタンフォームを含む、請求項1に記載の人工膝関節。
- 前記大腿骨構成要素の前記関節表面が中実チタン合金を含み、前記中実チタン合金が前記関節表面から前記骨嵌合表面に向かって延びる、請求項1に記載の人工膝関節。
- 前記大腿骨構成要素の前記骨嵌合表面が、焼結によって前記大腿骨構成要素の前記中実チタン合金に結合された市販の純チタンフォームを含む、請求項9に記載の人工膝関節。
