Claims (13)
- 隣接する上部棘突起と下部棘突起との間の棘突起間空間に低侵襲外科的処置によって挿入するための膨張式棘突起間スペーサであって、
挿入可能な収縮状態及び膨張した拡張状態を有し、第1の高さを有する第1の端部と、第2の高さを有する第2の端部と、前記第1及び第2の端部間に延びる第3の高さを有する中心部分とを含み、前記膨張した拡張状態にあるときに、前記第1及び第2の端部の前記第1及び第2の高さが前記中心部分の前記第3の高さよりもそれぞれ高くなって「H」型又はダンベル状の形状を呈する第1の膨張式バルーンと、
前記第1の膨張式バルーン内に導入されて、該第1の膨張式バルーンを前記挿入可能な収縮状態から前記膨張した拡張状態に膨張させるように構成された第1の充填材と、
中空円筒形状を特徴とし、挿入可能な収縮状態及び膨張した拡張状態を有し、前記第1の膨張式バルーンの前記中心部分を取り囲む第2の膨張式バルーンと、
前記第2の膨張式バルーン内に導入されて、該第2の膨張式バルーンを前記挿入可能な収縮状態から前記膨張した拡張状態に拡張させるように構成された第2の充填材と、
を含み、前記第1の膨張式バルーンが、膨張時に所定の形状になるように低コンプライアント材料で製造され、前記第2の膨張式バルーンが、セミコンプライアント材料又は高コンプライアント材料で製造され、前記第2の充填材の前記弾性率よりも前記第1の充填材の弾性率の方が高い、ことを特徴とする膨張式棘突起間スペーサ。 - 脊椎の低侵襲外科的処置中に隣接する棘突起間に取り付けるための膨張式棘突起間スペーサであって、
拡張状態及び非拡張状態を有し、ある高さを有する中心部分と第1及び第2の端部とを含み、前記第1及び第2の端部の前記高さが前記中心部分の前記高さよりも高く、前記拡張状態において「H」型又はダンベル状の形状を呈する第1の膨張部材と、
前記第1の膨張部材内に導入されることにより前記第1の膨張部材を拡張させるように構成された第1の充填材と、
中空円筒形状を特徴とし、第1の挿入可能部材の前記中心部分を取り囲む第2の膨張部材と、
前記第2の膨張部材内に導入されることにより前記第2の膨張部材を拡張させるように構成された第2の充填材と、
含み、前記第1及び第2の膨張部材の膨張時には、前記第1の膨張部材の前記剛性よりも前記第2の膨張部材の剛性の方が低い、ことを特徴とする膨張式棘突起間スペーサ。 - 隣接する棘突起間に配置するための膨張式スペーサシステムであって、
第1の端部と、第2の端部と、該第1及び第2の端部間に位置する中心部分とを有し、前記第1の端部と前記第2の端部と前記中心部分とが互いに流体連通状態にあり、挿入可能な状態及び膨張した状態を有する可撓性のある低コンプライアントハウジングを有し、前記膨張した状態において前記中心部分と前記第1及び第2の端部とがある高さを有する第1のバルーンと、
前記第1のバルーン内に導入されて前記第1のバルーンを拡張させるように構成された第1の充填材と、
前記中心部分を取り囲む可撓性のあるハウジングを有し、挿入可能な状態及び膨張した状態を有する第2の膨張式バルーンであって、この第2の膨張式バルーンが、前記中心部分の周囲に配置された中空の実質的円筒形状を成し、前記中心部分の少なくとも一部とともに共通の壁を形成する、第2の膨張式バルーンと、
前記第2のバルーン内に導入されて前記第2のバルーンを拡張させるように構成された第2の充填材と、
を含み、
前記挿入可能な状態では、前記スペーサを、前記中心部分及び前記第2のバルーンの少なくとも一部が前記隣接する棘突起間に位置するように、隣接する脊髄突起間の前記棘突起間空間に脊髄突起を実質的に変化させることなく横方向に挿入することができ、前記膨張した状態では、前記第1及び第2の端部が前記棘突起の側面に沿って位置して、前記スペーサを前記棘突起間の適所に保持し、
前記膨張した状態では、前記第1の拡張可能バルーンよりも前記第2の拡張可能バルーンの方が剛性が低く、前記膨張した状態にある前記中心部分及び該中心部分を覆って配置された前記第2のバルーンの高さよりも、前記膨張した状態にある前記第1及び第2の端部の前記高さの方が高い、ことを特徴とする膨張式スペーサシステム。 - 前記第2のバルーンの前記ハウジングが、低コンプライアント材料で形成される請求項3に記載のシステム。
- 前記拡張状態にある前記スペーサが、「H」型又はダンベル状の形状を成す請求項3に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2の充填材よりも前記第1の充填材の圧縮率の方が低い請求項3に記載のシステム。
- 前記拡張状態にあって前記棘突起間に位置するときの前記第2のバルーン及び前記中心部分が、前記脊椎の伸展を制限する請求項3に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2のバルーンが前記棘突起の前記形状に適合して、前記スペーサと前記棘突起の前記下面及び上面との間の表面積の接触を増加させる請求項7に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2のバルーンの拡張により、前記隣接する棘突起間の前記スペーサが位置する前記空間を開離して拡張させる請求項3に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2のバルーンの前記ハウジングがセミコンプライアントである請求項3に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2のバルーンが、前記第1の端部及び前記第2の端部の少なくとも一部を覆って配置される請求項3に記載のシステム。
- 前記挿入可能な状態において、前記第1又は第2の充填材を含まない前記第1及び第2のバルーンを含む前記スペーサを、内径5mmのカニューレ内に挿入することができる請求項3に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2のバルーンが、前記スペーサに対する圧縮衝撃を吸収する請求項3に記載のシステム。
