Description
Claims (15)
- 砥粒が結合材料内に含有された結合研削材本体を含む研削材物品であって、
結合材料は、結合材料の総体積に対して1体積%〜20体積%の有機材料、及び、結合材料の総体積に対して20体積%〜99体積%の金属材料を含み、
さらに、結合研削材本体は、結合研削材本体の総体積に対して、10体積%〜80体積%の結合材料と、結合研削材本体の総体積に対して、5体積%〜60体積%の砥粒と、
結合研削材本体の総体積の0.5体積%〜10体積%の孔隙とを含み、
前記結合研削材本体は、センタレス研削作業の場合に、350J/mm3以下の平均比研削エネルギ(SGE)により、少なくとも8mm3/秒の平均材料除去(MRR)速度で、少なくとも5GPaの平均ビッカース硬度を有する超砥粒加工物を研削することができる、研削材物品。 - 超砥粒材料を含む加工物を研削するように構成された結合研削材本体を含む研削材物品であって、
前記結合研削材本体は、有機材料および金属材料を含む複合結合材料内に含有された砥粒を含み、前記砥粒のうちの82体積%〜97体積%が、前記複合結合材料の前記金属材料内に含有される、研削材物品。 - 中心開口を有する砥石車の形態であり、前記中心開口を有する挿入体を含み、前記結合研削材本体は、前記挿入体の外周縁部に沿って延びる、請求項1または2に記載の研削材物品。
- 前記結合研削材本体は、前記研削材物品の縁部のまわりに円周方向に延びる研削材リムを画定する、請求項1または2に記載の研削材物品。
- 前記結合材料には樹脂が含まれる、請求項1または2に記載の研削材物品。
- 前記結合研削材本体は、前記結合研削材本体の総体積の10体積%〜80体積%の結合材料を含む、請求項2に記載の研削材物品。
- 前記結合研削材本体は、前記結合研削材本体の総体積の5体積%〜60体積%の砥粒を含む、請求項2に記載の研削材物品。
- 前記砥粒は、1μm〜250μmの範囲内の平均粒径を有する、請求項1または2に記載の研削材物品。
- 前記結合研削材本体は、前記結合研削材本体の総体積の0.5体積%〜10体積%の範囲内の孔隙を含む、請求項2に記載の研削材物品。
- 前記有機材料には、ポリイミド、ポリアミド、エポキシ、樹脂、アラミド、ポリエステル、ポリウレタン、およびそれらの組み合わせからなる材料の群から選択される材料が含まれる、請求項2に記載の研削材物品。
- 前記有機材料は、前記結合材料の総体積の1体積%〜20体積%を構成する、請求項2に記載の研削材物品。
- 前記金属材料には金属合金が含まれる、請求項2に記載の研削材物品。
- 前記金属材料には銅およびスズが含まれる、請求項2に記載の研削材物品。
- 前記金属材料は、前記結合材料の総体積の20体積%〜99体積%を構成する、請求項2に記載の研削材物品。
- 研削材物品を形成する方法であって、
有機材料、金属材料、および砥粒を含む混合物を形成することと、
前記混合物を処理して、有機材料および金属材料を含む複合結合材料内に砥粒が含有された本体を有する研削材物品を形成することであって、前記結合材料は、有機材料の体積(OM)の金属材料の体積(MM)に対する比率(OM/MM)が0.25以下であることと、
前記砥粒の82体積%〜97体積%が、前記複合結合材料の前記金属材料内に含有されること、及び、前記本体の総体積の0.5体積%〜10体積%の範囲内で、前記本体が孔隙を含むことと、
を含む方法。
