本出願は、2005年7月8日に出願された米国仮特許出願第60/697,748号「PRESSURE CONTROL FOR A HOSPOTAL BED」に優先権を主張する。本出願は、2004年5月2日に出願された米国特許出願第11/119,980号「PRESSURE RELIEF SURFACE」、米国特許出願第11/119,991号「PATIENT SUPPORT HAVING REAL TIME PRESSURE CONTROL」、米国特許出願第11/119,635号「LACK OF PATIENT MOVEMENT MONITOR AND METHOD」及び米国特許出願第11/120,080号「PATIENT SUPPORT」に関連する。上記出願は本発明の譲受人に譲渡され、上記出願の内容を参照によって本願明細書に援用する。

(a)「高圧力閾値」を超えるセンサ出力値の合計。この指標の場合、閾値が設定され、センサがこの閾値を超えた量が累算される。高圧力閾値は固定であってもよいし、又は好ましくは、平均センサ出力値に比例して適宜算出されてもよい。該高圧力閾値は全てのセンサ出力値の平均値の1.2〜3.0倍の範囲に設定されるのが好ましいことが分かっている。
(b)「支持閾値」未満のセンサの数によって測定される非支持面積。「非支持面積」は、支持面積が増えると減少する。支持閾値は、固定されてもよいし、又は好ましくは、平均センサ出力値に比例して適宜算出されてもよい。該高圧力閾値は全てのセンサ出力値の平均値の0.1〜0.7倍の範囲に設定されるのが好ましいことが分かっている。
(c)高圧力閾値を超えるセンサの数。上記(a)の指標と同様に、高圧力閾値が設定され、この高圧力閾値を超えたセンサの数がカウントされる。
(d)任意のセンサによって通知された最大出力値。
(e)最高出力値を通知している3つのセンサの平均値。
(f)全てのセンサ出力値の標準偏差。この値は次の公式に従って計算される:標準偏差=(センサ出力値と平均センサ出力値の差の2乗の和の平方根)÷(センサ数−1)。
(g)センサ出力値の高い側の偏差。この指標は標準偏差と類似の方法で計算される。しかし、この場合、平均センサ出力値を超えたセンサ出力値だけが計算に使用される。
(h)流体室の空気圧の変化に対する比率としての上記指標群の変化。
Claims (11)
- 制御装置と、ユーザ入力を受信するユーザインターフェイスと、人を支持するためのマットレスとを有する圧力調整可能マットレスシステム内の圧力を調整するための方法であって、
前記マットレスが前記人を支持している時に前記圧力調整可能マットレスの第1圧力を自動的に決定するステップと、
圧力調整を含む前記ユーザ入力を前記ユーザインターフェイスから前記制御装置が受信したことに応じて、前記第1圧力を、前記第1圧力と異なる第2圧力に調整するステップと、
前記マットレス上の人の動作および時間の経過を含む事象の発生まで前記第2圧力を維持するステップと、
前記事象が発生した時に第3圧力を自動的に決定するステップであって、前記第3圧力が底打ち状態によって求められた最適圧力であるステップと、
を備える、方法。 - 前記第1圧力が底打ち状態によって求められた最適圧力である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第2圧力が前記第1圧力よりも大きい、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第2圧力が前記第1圧力よりも小さい、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第3圧力を、前記ユーザ入力を前記ユーザインターフェイスから受信する前記制御装置に応じて前記第3圧力と異なる第4圧力に調整することをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記制御装置はメモリーデバイスを有し、前記マットレスは圧力のある第1ゾーン流体室を有し、
前記メモリー内に前記第1ゾーン流体室の圧力を保存するステップと、
前記第1ゾーン流体室の保存された圧力の変化に基づいて動きが発生したかどうかを検知するステップと、
動きが検知された場合に、底打ち状態に基づいて計算された前記第1ゾーン流体室の最適圧力を求め、
前記最適圧力にオフセットを適用することにより求められた調整圧力に前記第1ゾーン流体室の圧力を調整するステップと
を備える、方法。 - 前記第1ゾーンは足ゾーンである、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 底打ち指標に基づいた前記第1ゾーン流体室の最適圧力を求めるステップと、
前記底打ち指標を保存するステップと、
一定時間の後に前記底打ち指標を再計算するステップと、
前記底打ち指標と前記再計算した底打ち指標とを比較するステップと
を備える請求項6に記載の方法。 - 前記底打ち指標は、高圧力閾値を超える各圧力センサの各出力の合計、支持閾値未満の各圧力センサの合計、高圧力閾値を超える出力を有する各圧力センサの合計、圧力センサに通知された最高出力、各最大出力を通知している各圧力センサの平均値、各圧力センサ出力の標準偏差、各圧力センサ出力の高い側の偏差、および、前記第1ゾーン流体室内の圧力の変化に対する比率としての底打ち指標の各変化、の少なくとも一つを含む請求項8に記載の方法。
- 動きが検知された場合に、前記第1ゾーン流体室で安定性が得られるまで前記第1ゾーン流体室の前記圧力の調整を防いで、前記第1ゾーン流体室において時間とともに変化する圧力を計算することにより前記第1ゾーン流体室が安定しているかを判断するステップをさらに備える請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記時間とともに変化する圧力が約5秒の期間にわたって約2分の1インチ(約0.025m)の水圧よりも少ない場合に安定性が得られる、請求項10に記載の方法。
