Description

(4) 工程(a)の煮沸済み表面サイジングデンプン固形分が、約30〜約70%の高脂肪酸表面サイジングデンプン、および約30〜70%の低脂肪酸表面サイジングデンプンを含む、(3)に記載の方法。
(5) 多価カチオン源を加える前に、煮沸済み紙表面サイジング組成物に一価水酸化物を加え、それによって、全脂肪酸を中和し、かつ一価脂肪酸塩へ変換する工程(c)をさらに含む、(1)に記載の方法。

(9) 工程(a)の低脂肪酸表面サイジングデンプンが、1つ以上のロウ質トウモロコシデンプン、ロウ質コメデンプン、およびロウ質ジャガイモデンプンを含む、(8)に記載の方法。
(10) 工程(b)の多価カチオン源が、多価金属乾燥性塩を含む、(1)に記載の方法。
(11) 煮沸済み紙表面サイジング組成物が、約12%を超える煮沸済み表面サイジングデンプン固形分を含む、(1)に記載の方法。

(17) 紙表面サイジング組成物中の表面サイジングデンプン固形分が、約30〜約70%の高脂肪酸表面サイジングデンプン、および約30〜約70%の低脂肪酸表面サイジングデンプンを含む、(16)に記載のシステム。
(18) 高脂肪酸表面サイジングデンプン固形分が、1つ以上の表面サイジング非ロウ質穀物デンプンを含む、(14)に記載のシステム。
(19) 非ロウ質穀物デンプンが、1つ以上の非ロウ質トウモロコシデンプン、および非ロウ質コムギデンプンを含む、(18)に記載のシステム。
(20) 低脂肪酸表面サイジングデンプンが、1つ以上のタピオカデンプン、およびロウ質デンプンを含む、(14)に記載のシステム。
(21) 低脂肪酸表面サイジングデンプンが、1つ以上のロウ質トウモロコシデンプン、ロウ質コメデンプン、およびロウ質ジャガイモデンプンを含む、(20)に記載のシステム。

Claims (18)
- 煮沸済みの紙表面サイジング溶液と多価金属乾燥性塩溶液で紙基材の少なくとも1つの面を処理する際における、紙表面サイジング装置へのC16以上の多価脂肪酸塩の付着を阻害する方法であって、
(a) 10%を超える煮沸済み表面サイジングデンプン固形分および300ppm以下のC16以上の飽和脂肪酸を含む煮沸済み紙表面サイジング組成物であって、煮沸済み表面サイジングデンプン固形分が、0〜95%の高脂肪酸表面サイジングデンプンおよび5〜100%の低脂肪酸表面サイジングデンプンを含む、煮沸済み紙表面サイジング組成物に対して、1価の水酸化物を加えることによって、全脂肪酸を中和して1価の脂肪酸塩へ変換し、中和された煮沸済み紙表面サイジング溶液を得ること;
(b) 紙基材の少なくとも1つの表面を、中和された煮沸済み紙表面サイジング溶液で処理することによって、少なくとも1つの表面上に表面サイジングコーティングを付与すること;
(c) 工程bの中和された煮沸済み紙表面サイジング溶液の存在下で、1000ppm以上の多価金属乾燥性塩を含む多価金属乾燥性塩溶液を加えることによって、少なくとも1つの表面を多価金属乾燥性塩で処理すること;

- 工程cの多価金属乾燥性塩溶液が、処理された少なくとも1つの面の乾燥時間を、移行したインクのパーセント(IT%)値で測定した場合、65%以下とするのに十分な量の多価金属乾燥性塩を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 煮沸済み紙表面サイジング組成物が、12%を超える煮沸済み表面サイジングデンプン固形分を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
