Description
キャボット・コーポレーション(Cabot Corporation)から入手したバルカン(VULCAN)(登録商標)XC72R(B.E.T.表面積=約254m2/g)カーボンブラック(CB)を、ポリアミド酸溶液の、ブイテック(VTEC)(商標)PI1388(PI、NMP中固形分20重量パーセント、リチャード・ブレイン・インターナショナル・インコーポレーテッド(Richard Blaine International,Inc.)から入手)と、重量比を変化させながら、混合した(比較例1(A)においてはCB/PI=5/95、比較例1(B)においてはCB/PI=6/94、比較例1(C)においてはCB/PI=7/93)。2ミリメートルのステンレス鋼ショットを用い160rpmで一夜、約23時間かけてボールミル摩砕をすると、均一な分散体が得られたので、次いでドローバーコーティング法を使用してガラスプレートの上にコーティングした。得られたそれぞれのフィルムを、ガラスプレートの上に残したままで、100℃で20分間、次いで204℃でさらに20分間かけて乾燥させた。乾燥し、室温、約23℃〜25℃に冷却してから、それぞれのガラスプレートの上の個別のフィルムを、一夜、約23時間、水中に浸漬させ、そうして得られた個々の50ミクロン厚みの自立性フィルムを、個々のガラスプレートから剥離させた。
ナノブロックス・インコーポレーテッド(NANOBLOX Inc.)から入手したナノダイヤモンドNB90(ND)を、ポリアミド酸の溶液の、ブイテック(VTEC)(商標)PI1388(PI、NMP中固形分20重量パーセント、リチャード・ブレイン・インターナショナル・インコーポレーテッド(Richard Blaine International,Inc.)から入手)と、重量比を変化させながら、混合した(実施例I(A)においてはND/PI=5/95、実施例I(B)においてはND/PI=10/90)。2ミリメートルのステンレス鋼ショットを用い160rpmで一夜、約23時間かけてボールミル摩砕をすると、均一な分散体が得られたので、次いでドローバーコーティング法を使用してガラスプレートの上にコーティングした。それぞれのフィルムを、ガラスプレートの上に残したままで、100℃で20分間、次いで204℃でさらに20分間かけて乾燥させた。乾燥し、室温、約23℃〜25℃に冷却してから、それぞれのガラスプレートの上の個別のフィルムを、一夜、約23時間、水中に浸漬させ、そうして得られた個々の50ミクロン厚みの自立性フィルムを、個々のガラスプレートから剥離させた。
1グラムのナノダイヤモンドNB90(ナノブロックス・インコーポレーテッド(NANOBLOX Inc.)から入手(ND))を、9グラムのビスフェノール−A−ポリカーボネート、マクロロン(MAKROLON)(登録商標)5705(PC)および100グラムの塩化メチレンと混合した。2ミリメートルのステンレス鋼ショットを用い、一夜、23時間かけてこの混合物をボールミル摩砕すると、均一な分散体が得られた。次いで、その分散体を、公知のドローバーコーティング法を使用して、厚み3.5ミルの二軸配向させたポリ(エチレンナフタレート)(PEN)基材(カレデックス(KALEDEX)(商標)2000)の上にコーティングした。得られたフィルムを、PEN基材の上に残したままで、約120℃で1分かけて乾燥させた。乾燥し、冷却して室温とした後に、PEN基材の上のフィルムを、基材から自動的に剥離すると、ナノダイヤモンド/ポリカーボネート(ND/PC)でその重量比が10/90の、20ミクロンの厚みの中間転写部材が得られた。
比較例1(A)、1(B)、および1(C)、ならびに実施例I(A)およびI(B)のITB機器について、ハイ・レジスティビティ・メーター(High Resistivity Meter)(ハイレスタ(Hiresta)−Up−MCP−HT450、三菱化学(株)(Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.)製)を用いて表面抵抗率(500V、場所を変えての4個の測定値の平均値、72゜F/室内湿度65パーセント)を測定したが、その結果を表1に示す。
Claims (4)
- ダイヤモンドコアとその上のグラファイトシェルとからなり、前記ダイヤモンドコアが20〜99.9重量パーセントの量で存在するナノダイヤモンドを含む中間転写部材。
- 前記部材がベルトの形状であり、前記ナノダイヤモンドが、50パーセントのsp3炭素と50パーセントのsp2炭素とを有する、請求項1に記載の中間転写部材。
- 前記ナノダイヤモンドが分散されるポリマーバインダーを有し、前記ポリマーバインダーは、ポリイミド、ポリカーボネート、ポリ(ブチレンテレフタレート)、ポリ(エチレンテレフタレート)、ポリ(エチレンナフタレート)、ポリフッ化ビニリデン、またはポリエチレン−コ−ポリテトラフルオロエチレンであり、前記ポリマーバインダー中に分散された前記ナノダイヤモンドは、1〜75パーセントの量で存在している、請求項1に記載の中間転写部材。
- 前記ナノダイヤモンドは、30〜100ナノメートルの直径を有している、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の中間転写部材。
