Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a suspension board with circuit.
A suspension board with circuit used in a hard disk drive is a wiring circuit board in which a wiring circuit pattern is formed on an suspension board that supports a magnetic head via an insulating layer. This suspension board with circuit keeps a fine gap between the magnetic head and the magnetic head against the air flow when the magnetic head and the magnetic disk travel relatively, and maintains a good flying posture of the magnetic head. In recent years, it has become widespread.
Such a suspension board with a circuit is usually provided at its front end with a tongue portion for mounting a slider for mounting a magnetic head, and on both sides in the width direction of the tongue portion, and a wiring circuit pattern is formed. A gimbal portion including an outrigger portion is formed. The rigidity of the outrigger portion is an important factor for precisely adjusting the flying posture (angle) of the slider with respect to the magnetic disk.
On the other hand, in recent years, from the viewpoint of increasing the density of data, in such a suspension board with circuit, it is necessary to increase the frequency of signals. However, if the frequency is increased, transmission loss increases in the conductor pattern.
。 Therefore, for example, it has been proposed to sequentially laminate a lower conductor, an insulating layer, and a conductor composed of a recording side line and a reproduction side line on a suspension to reduce the transmission loss of the conductor (for example, (See Patent Document 1).
However, in recent years, with the miniaturization of the slider, it is required to adjust the flying posture (angle) of the slider with respect to the magnetic disk more precisely.
However, when the lower conductor is provided along the conductor as proposed in
An object of the present invention is to provide a suspension board with circuit capable of reducing the transmission loss of a conductor pattern and improving the operability for a mounted component.
In order to achieve the above object, a suspension board with circuit of the present invention covers a metal supporting board, a metal foil formed on the metal supporting board, and the metal foil on the metal supporting board. A first insulating base layer, a conductor pattern formed on the first insulating base layer and having a plurality of wirings, and the first insulating base layer so as to cover the wirings. And the metal foil does not oppose a part of each wiring in the thickness direction along the longitudinal direction of each wiring, and the remaining part and the thickness of each wiring. It is arranged so as to oppose in the direction, and the metal support substrate is opposed to the part of the wirings not opposed to the metal foil in the thickness direction, and not opposed to the metal foil in the thickness direction. , Plan view A U-shaped opening is formed, and further includes a tongue portion that is sandwiched between the openings and on which a magnetic head is mounted, and an outrigger portion that is disposed outside the opening, and each of the wirings includes the metal In a portion not facing the foil and facing the opening, the entire lower surface is covered with the first base insulating layer, and the entire upper surface and side surfaces are covered with the cover insulating layer. Yes.
In the suspension board with circuit of the present invention, it is preferable that the metal foil has an area facing the wirings of 70% or more with respect to 100% of the area of the wirings.
Moreover, it is preferable that the suspension board with circuit of the present invention further includes a first metal thin film interposed between the metal foil and the metal supporting board.
Moreover, it is preferable that the suspension board with circuit of the present invention further includes a second base insulating layer interposed between the first metal thin film and the metal supporting board.
According to the suspension board with circuit of the present invention, the metal foil faces the remaining portion of each wiring in the thickness direction, so that the transmission loss of the conductor pattern can be reduced with a simple layer configuration.
On the other hand, since the metal foil does not face a part of each wiring in the thickness direction, the rigidity of a part corresponding to a part of each wiring can be reduced. Therefore, if a mounting component is mounted in the vicinity of such a portion, excellent operability for the mounting component can be ensured.
As a result, excellent operability can be ensured while reducing transmission loss.
