Description
本実施例においては、2つのポリスチレン(PS)ホモポリマー樹脂を使用した。すなわち、ゲル透過クロマトグラフィー(GPC)で決定した重量平均分子量が各々250000g/mol及び170000g/molである、PS−250及びPS−170である。使用したブロックコポリマー添加剤は、制御されたラジカル重合を介して合成されたものである。使用したPS−PBAはポリスチレン及びポリ(アクリル酸ブチル)(PBA)のブロックコポリマーであり、スチレンブロックの重量平均分子量は84000g/molであり、ポリ(アクリル酸ブチル)ブロックの重量平均分子量は123000g/molであった。64重量%のスチレン及び36重量%アクリル酸ブチルのランダムコポリマー、P(S−r−BA)も又、使用した。
これらのポリマーブレンドの均一性は、原子間力顕微鏡法(AFM)を使用し、測定した。AFM及び光学画像を撮る前に、サンプルを切片とし、冷却薄切片とした。AFMイメージは、タッピングモードで撮り、相と高さのデータを記録した。共振周波数300kHzでエッチングされたシリコンのカンチレバー(RTESP14、VEECO製)を使用した。全ての画像の横方向のサイズは5μm×5μmであった。画像の質を調整するために、セットポイント、増幅比、増幅積、スキャン率なでを調整した。スキャン角は常に90℃であった。
ガラス転移温度及び割合は、動的機械分析(DMA)を使用して決定した。試験は、周波数1Hzで、加熱速度は1分あたり5℃で、−140〜140℃で行い、ストレイン(strain)は0.03〜0.5%であった。全ての試験は窒素雰囲気下で行った。
Claims (4)
- スチレン熱可塑性樹脂、発泡剤、並びに、ポリスチレン第一ブロック及びポリ(アクリル酸ブチル)第二ブロックからなるブロックコポリマーを含む熱可塑性発泡体であって、
前記第二ブロックが前記発泡剤と相溶性のある一以上の官能基を有し、
前記熱可塑性樹脂とブレンドしたときに、前記ブロックコポリマーは、20〜250nmの平均径を有する分離ドメインを形成し、
前記発泡体は、前記ブロックコポリマーが存在しない発泡体よりも密度が低い、熱可塑性発泡体。 - 前記発泡剤が、1,1,1,2−テトラフルオロエタン、1,1−ジフルオロエタン、ジフルオロメタン、1,1,1,3,3−ペンタフルオロプロパン、ペンタフルオロエタン、1,1,1−トリフルオロエタン、1,1,2−トリフルオロエタン、1,1,1,2,3,3,3−ヘプタフルオロプロパン、1,1,1,3,3−ペンタフルオロブタン、アルカン、二酸化炭素、及び、それらの混合物から成る群から選択される請求項1に記載の熱可塑性発泡体。
- スチレン熱可塑性樹脂及び発泡剤から熱可塑性発泡体を製造する方法であって、
前記スチレン熱可塑性樹脂及び前記発泡剤を化合すること、及び、ポリスチレン第一ブロック及びポリ(アクリル酸ブチル)第二ブロックからなるブロックコポリマーを添加することを含み、
前記第二ブロックが前記発泡剤と相溶性のある一以上の官能基を有し、
前記熱可塑性樹脂とブレンドしたときに、前記ブロックコポリマーは、20〜250nmの平均径を有する分離ドメインを形成し、
前記発泡体は、前記ブロックコポリマーが存在しない発泡体よりも密度が低い、方法。 - 前記発泡剤が、1,1,1,2−テトラフルオロエタン、1,1−ジフルオロエタン、ジフルオロメタン、1,1,1,3,3−ペンタフルオロプロパン、ペンタフルオロエタン、1,1,1−トリフルオロエタン、1,1,2−トリフルオロエタン、1,1,1,2,3,3,3−ヘプタフルオロプロパン、1,1,1,3,3−ペンタフルオロブタン、アルカン、二酸化炭素、及び、それらの混合物から成る群から選択される請求項3に記載の方法。
