Description

The present invention relates to an airbag cover body and an airbag apparatus that inflate and deploy an airbag to the side of a seat of an automobile, for example.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an airbag device that inflates and deploys an airbag to the side of a seat of an automobile and protects an occupant at a side collision is known. Further, with respect to such an airbag device, the airbag is folded and stored in the door portion on the side of the passenger compartment, and the airbag is inflated and deployed upward from the door portion to protect the head of the occupant and the like. Is known (for example, see Patent Document 1). This Patent Document 1 shows a configuration in which an air bag, an inflator, and the like are assembled to an inner panel of a door portion, and then the door panel is attached so as to cover these members and the inner panel. And in this structure, the upper side of the folded airbag is covered, and the cover part which is integral with or separate from the door panel is provided. The lid portion is provided with a hinge portion along a base end portion which is a side portion on the vehicle compartment side, and a distal end portion which is a side portion on the outer side of the vehicle is a free end, and the hinge portion is provided when the airbag is deployed. It is designed to pivot upward as a fulcrum.

However, in this configuration, since the front end portion side of the lid portion is not fixed, the lid portion is not stabilized and the appearance is deteriorated when a force is applied to the lid portion from the occupant or the like to the lid portion to be pushed downward or pulled upward. It's easy to do.

Here, a rib protrudes downward from the front end side of the lid, and the front end of the rib is fixed to another member, and a tear line is formed at an intermediate position of the rib to break when the airbag is deployed. Can be considered. However, in this configuration, force is applied from the airbag in the deployment process to the rib of the lid and the tip of the lid, and further, air is introduced into the space between the tip of the lid and the portion where the tear line of the rib is broken. When the bag enters, a large force is applied to the lid portion, so it is necessary to increase the rigidity of each portion of the lid portion, and it is not easy to reduce the manufacturing cost.

As described above, in the configuration in which the distal end side of the lid portion is not fixed, the lid portion is not stable when external force is applied, and the appearance is likely to deteriorate. In addition, if a rib is provided on the tip side of the lid and this rib is fixed to another member, a large force may be applied to the rib or tip of the lid when the airbag is deployed. It is necessary to increase the rigidity of each part of the lid, and it is not easy to reduce the manufacturing cost.

The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and is capable of stably supporting a cover body covering an airbag and easily protecting the cover body even when the airbag is deployed, and an airbag apparatus. Alternatively, the side plate portion 104 is set to be 1.8 mm or more and 2.0 mm or less so as to bend when receiving a load, and the guide plate portion 103 is stronger than the side plate portion 104 in order to transmit a force to the edge piece portion 66. It can be raised to 1.8 mm or more and 4.0 mm or less.

In a state where the inner part 62 is attached to the outer part 61, the breakable part 99 and the tip part of the edge piece part 66 are substantially at the same height position, and the tip part of the guide plate part 103 is located on the outer part 61. It abuts along the tip which is the lower end of the edge piece 66. That is, the lower surface of the guide plate portion 103 is smoothly connected to the edge of the front end portion of the edge piece portion 66, and a so-called slide base portion for guiding the airbag 31 is formed on the lower surface. Furthermore, the portion including the base 90 is shaped to be more difficult to deform than a mere plate-shaped portion, and constitutes an impact absorbing portion that undergoes crushing deformation, that is, buckling while absorbing an impact while a predetermined force is applied. To do. As described above, the shock absorbing portion has a box shape at both end portions in the longitudinal direction of the door portion 73, and has a substantially H-shaped cross section with ribs at the central portion in the longitudinal direction of the door portion 73. . Further, the guide plate 103 covers the lower side of the space between the edge portion formed by the breakage of the support piece portion 87 and the tip end portion of the edge piece portion 66 in the state where the breakable portion 99 is broken. It has come to be.

Also, corresponding to the width dimension of the guide plate portion 103, the tear line opening 101 has a relatively large width dimension in the central portion in the longitudinal direction of the door portion 73, and the central portion in both longitudinal end portions of the door portion 73. The width dimension is relatively small with respect to the portion.

On the other hand, the locking attachment portion 89 of the inner main body portion 85 can also be referred to as an engagement portion receiving portion. As shown in FIGS. The outer base plate portion of the outer portion 61 is bulged in a convex shape outward from the passenger compartment so as to have a space, and the inner base plate portion 93 of the inner portion 62 is welded to and attached to the outer base plate portion 76 of the outer portion 61. It is formed to form a box with 76. In other words, each of the locking mounting portions 89 constitutes a shock absorbing box body, has a shape that is harder to deform than a simple plate-like portion, and is deformed while absorbing a shock in a state where a predetermined force is applied. In other words, it buckles and achieves both the rigidity of the inner body 85 and the shock absorption characteristics. As shown in FIG. 3, each locking attachment portion 89 is a support plate as a substantially vertical engagement receiving portion that is spaced apart from the vehicle compartment outside of the substantially vertical portion of the inner substrate portion 93. A base 89a, an inclined inclined support plate 89b connecting the upper end of the support plate base 89a and the inner substrate 93, and both sides of the inner substrate 93, the support plate base 89a, and the inclined support plate 89b. A pair of side support plate portions 89c to be coupled are integrally formed. Further, the inclined support plate portion 89b is provided with a hook opening 89d for hook hooking, and the support rib base portion 89a is integrally provided with reinforcing rib portions 89e on the vehicle interior side and the vehicle exterior side. It is installed. The inner substrate portion 93 and the locking attachment portion 89 are alternately formed along the longitudinal direction of the inner portion 62 to form an uneven shape, and bend along the longitudinal direction when a force is applied from the outside. It can be bent. Further, the inner substrate portion 93 is disposed along the outer substrate portion 76 of the outer portion 61, and is welded and integrally joined to the outer substrate portion 76.

On the other hand, the second inner portion 82 may be called an inner lower or a lower inner, and is separate from the first inner portion 81, and is provided below the first inner portion 81 as shown in FIG. A plate-like lower substrate portion 82a that is positioned and adhered to the back surface side of the outer substrate portion 76, and is attached by welding or the like, and a plurality of protrusions projecting outward from the lower substrate portion 82a to the vehicle exterior side that is the back surface side The second attachment portion 82b is integrally formed. Further, in this embodiment, each second mounting portion 82b is formed in a cylindrical shape whose axial direction is a direction inclined downward toward the outside of the vehicle compartment.

The control device connected to the inflator of the airbag device 21 includes a CPU and an ignition signal that is connected to one or a plurality of sensors and activates the inflator according to the state of an occupant, a collision, a vehicle body angle, and the like. Is supposed to send.

Next, the manufacturing process of the airbag device 21 will be described.

First, the cover body 22 is formed by integrally forming the outer portion 61 and the first and second inner portions 81 and 82 of the inner portion 62 with resin using a mold, and the first and second inner portions. The parts 81 and 82 are vibration welded to the outer part 61 and integrally joined. Here, the skin layer 77 of the outer portion 61 can be formed in an appropriate order with respect to other processes. For example, the outer substrate portion 76 of the outer portion 61, the first and second inner portions of the inner portion 62, and the like. 81 and 82 are formed, the first inner portion 81 is vibration welded to the back surface of the outer substrate portion 76, and then the skin layer 77 is formed on the surface of the outer substrate portion 76 by reaction injection formation. The second inner portion 82 can be vibration welded to the back surface of the substrate portion 76.

Then, the inflator and the folded airbag 31 are accommodated in the accommodating portion 44 of the attachment body 34, and these members are covered with the cover body 22, and as shown in FIG. The cover body 22 is attached to the airbag module in such a manner that the cover locking portion 48 of the mounting body 34 is inserted into the mounting opening 89d of the locking mounting portion 89 and fitted into the reinforcing rib portion 89e. Then, the support plate base 89a is engaged, and the upper side portion of the cover body 22 on the side of the vehicle interior is supported by the mounting body 34. Further, a fixing tool 53 such as a screw inserted from the lower outside of the passenger compartment is fixed to the cover fixing receiving portion 49 of the mounting body 34 by screwing into the second mounting portion 82b, and the lower side portion of the cover body 22 is attached. Support with body 34.

Further, the support piece portion 87 of the cover body 22 is deformed, that is, bent so as to open along the planned fracture portion 99, and the attachment fixing portion 96 is made to follow the plate 42 of the attachment body 34. In this state, the mounting fixing portion 96 is attached by inserting a fixing tool 52 such as a rivet from the mounting hole 96a of the mounting fixing portion 96 into the mounting fixing receiving portion 45 of the mounting body 34 and caulking the fixing tool 52. The body 34 is fixed to the body 34, and the outer side portion of the upper side of the cover body 22 is supported by the attachment body 34. That is, in this state, the lower side portion of the support piece portion 87 is vertically attached to the attachment body 34 along the vertical direction, and the upper side portion of the support piece portion 87 is folded and stored in the airbag 31. It is inclined and arranged so as to face the upper part.

In this way, the cover body 22 is supported by the mounting body 34 at least at three positions when viewed from the front-rear direction, and the cover body 22 is stably supported.

The inflator and the control device are electrically connected, and the vehicle body attachment portion 43 of the attachment body 34 is attached to the inner panel 16 of the door portion 1 with the fixture 51, and the trim connecting portion 69 at the lower end of the cover body 22 is mainly used. The airbag device 21 is installed on the door portion 1 by a simple operation of engaging with the door trim 18.

In this state, the upper surface panel portion 64 of the cover body 22 covers the upper part of the module in which the airbag 31 and the like are assembled to the attachment body 34, and the side panel portion 65 of the cover body 22 and the like. Thus, the side of the passenger compartment on the passenger side is covered, and the cover body 22 functions as an interior panel that continuously covers the upper side of the module and the passenger side. Further, in this state, the side panel portion 65 of the cover body 22 is in a state of facing and facing the side portion of the occupant.

Next, an operation when the airbag device 21 is deployed will be described.

When the vehicle body is subjected to an impact such as a side collision or rolls over from the stored state of the airbag 31 shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 5 (a), the control means makes a judgment based on signals from sensors, etc. It starts and supplies gas to the airbag 31. Then, the airbag 31 starts to inflate and deploy toward the upper side (in the direction of arrow U) where the storage portion 44 opens, and presses the door portion 73 of the cover body 22 upward from the lower side. Due to this pressing pressure, the planned break portion 99 of the support piece portion 87 of the inner portion 62 is broken, and at least a short side portion 72b of a part or all of the partition portion 72 of the outer portion 61 is broken.

When the airbag 31 is further inflated and deployed, the door portion 73 pressed by the airbag 31 rotates to the side of the vehicle interior with the long side portion 72a of the outer portion 61 and the hinge body portion 86 of the inner portion 62 as fulcrums. Then, an air bag inflation passage for the air bag 31 is formed. When the long side portion 72a of the partition portion 72 of the outer portion 61 is connected without breaking, the long side portion 72a serves as a fulcrum, and the hinge main body portion 86 is deformed so as to extend, and the door The portion 73 rotates smoothly. Further, when the long side portion 72a is broken, the hinge main body portion 86 becomes a fulcrum while being deformed to extend, and the door portion 73 is smoothly rotated. And, as shown in FIG. 5 (b), the airbag 31 protruding from the airbag inflating passage is rotated between the door portion 73 and the window portion 15 while rotating the door portion 73. It smoothly inflates and expands upward along the window 15 and restrains the occupant moving to the side to protect the head and the like.

Further, when the occupant moves to the side and contacts the airbag device 21 when the airbag device 21 is deployed or not deployed, each locking attachment portion 89 and the base portion that form a substantially box shape or the like 90 is crushed and deformed, and the cover body 22 is bent so as to bend along the longitudinal direction, absorbing the impact and protecting the occupant.

As described above, according to the present embodiment, a so-called door mount airbag that inflates and deploys the airbag 31 accommodated in the door portion 1 upward from the upper surface of the door portion 1 and is seated on the vehicle seat The head can be protected by restraining.

That is, by supplying gas to the airbag 31 covered with the cover body 22, the fracture portion 99 of the support piece portion 87 is smoothly broken, and the door portion 73 is smoothly opened with the hinge portion as a fulcrum. 31 can be smoothly and rapidly developed along the window portion 15 of the passenger compartment 2 upward in a predetermined direction. Since the planned breakage portion 99 is provided on the support piece portion 87, the breakage characteristic can be freely set without affecting the appearance, and the door portion 73 can be opened smoothly.

The cover body 22 has a locking attachment portion 89 provided at the upper part on the side of the vehicle interior and is engaged with a cover engagement part 48 of the attachment body 34, and an attachment fixing portion 96 provided at the upper part on the outer side of the vehicle interior. The fixing member 52 is fixed to the attachment fixing receiving portion 45 of the attachment body 34, and the second attachment portion 82b provided at the center or the lower part in the height direction on the side of the vehicle interior is the fixing member 53 with the cover fixing reception of the attachment body 34. Fixed to the portion 49, the cover body 22 is stably supported without rattling on the mounting body 34.

Further, the door portion 73 of the cover body 22 is attached to the attachment body 34 by a support piece portion 87 protruding from the inner door portion 84 on the outer side of the vehicle compartment, which is the other side portion along the longitudinal direction of the door portion 73. The inner side of the vehicle interior side that is supported on the side of the interior of the door 73 along the longitudinal direction of the door 73 via the hinge, that is, the long side 72a of the partition 72 and the hinge main body 86 is fixed. It is attached to and supported by the attachment body 34 by a portion 89, and a box-like or substantially H-shaped base 90 is provided on the other side of the door 73, and a box-like locking is provided on one side. Since the attachment portion 89 is provided, the rigidity of the cover body 22 having a large longitudinal dimension can be easily improved, and the cover body 22 can be hardly deformed. Therefore, even when the door portion 1 is opened or closed, or when a passenger applies a force to the cover body 22, the appearance including the door portion 73 can be maintained satisfactorily without the cover body 22 being deformed.

Then, on the outer side of the passenger compartment, which is the other side portion of the door portion 73, an edge piece portion 66 having an under shape is provided, and the support piece portion 87 provided with the planned breaking portion 99 is separated from the edge piece portion 66. Since the protrusion is provided at the position, the appearance can be improved, the breaking characteristics of the planned breaking portion 99 can be freely set, and the door 73 can be opened smoothly.

Further, the planned break portion 99 is provided at a position spaced from the inner door portion 84, and further, the space between the edge portion of the planned break portion 99 and the edge piece portion 66 having an under shape is the so-called inner portion 62. The airbag 31 is covered with the slide-shaped guide plate portion 103 and guided from the support piece portion 87 at the portion related to the guide plate portion 103, so that the airbag 31 bends the edge piece portion 66 that is in an under shape. Can be prevented from interfering with each other, and the air bag 31 can be prevented from interfering between the support piece portion 87 and the edge piece portion 66. Thus, even under a low temperature condition, the airbag 31 can be smoothly deployed while protecting the cover body 22 while protecting the edge piece 66 formed of hard polypropylene resin.

Further, since the side plate portion 104 protrudes from the guide plate portion 103 and is reinforced as a box-like base portion 90, the guide plate portion 103 bends or moves even when a force is applied when the airbag 31 is deployed. Therefore, the airbag 31 can be guided stably.

Further, the plate thickness of the guide plate portion 103 and the side plate portion 104 is set to, for example, 1.8 mm or more and 2.5 or less, and can guide the airbag 31 to be deployed and slightly receives the force of the airbag 31 to be deployed. Can be deformed so that it can be buckled when the occupant comes into contact with the cover body 22, and the guide plate portion 103 and the side plate portion 104 of the base 90 can be buckled. It functions as an impact absorbing portion, can easily improve the impact absorbing characteristics of the cover body 22, can protect the occupant, and can protect the cover body 22.

Furthermore, the locking attachment portion 89 is substantially box-shaped with a pair of side support plate portions 89c, and is continuous with the inner substrate portion 93 by the side support plate portions 89c, so to speak, the inner substrate portion 93 is uneven. The inner board portion 93 and the locking attachment portion 89 are alternately arranged in plurality, that is, adjacent to the both sides of the inner substrate portion 93 to be welded and joined to the outer portion 61, and further to the locking attachment portion. 89 is arranged. Therefore, even in a small space between the general portion of the second surface portion where the cover body 22 faces the occupant and the mounting body 34, a welding surface can be secured in a large area in the immediate vicinity of the locking mounting portion 89, and the welding strength Even when a large force is applied to the locking attachment portion 89 when the airbag 31 is deployed, the inner portion 62 is reliably prevented from being damaged and the cover locking portion 48 is prevented from coming off. And the outer part 61 can be easily maintained in a firmly joined state.

As described above, the inner part 62 is formed of a softer and deformable resin than the outer part 61, and the base part 90 and the locking attachment part 89 that are shock absorbing parts are provided on both sides of the door part 73. Therefore, it is possible to easily and satisfactorily set the impact absorption characteristics, and to easily improve the occupant protection performance when the airbag 31 is not deployed. Therefore, it is not necessary to provide a dedicated impact absorbing member, etc., and the manufacturing cost can be reduced, and it is not necessary to secure a large space inside the airbag device 21, and the airbag device 21 can be downsized. The air bag device 21 can be disposed on the door portion 1 even when the passenger compartment 2 is close to the door portion 1 because the compartment 2 can be used without being narrowed and there is no room in the widthwise dimension of the compartment 2.

Further, the cover body 22 is formed by laminating a relatively hard outer portion 61 and a relatively soft inner portion 62 to constitute the cover body 22, and a portion to be broken in a support piece portion 87 formed integrally with the inner portion 62. Since 99 is provided, the number of split portions or planned fracture portions formed on the outer substrate portion 76 of the outer portion 61 is reduced to ensure a large design surface, and from the upper surface side to the side surface portion with the resin outer portion 61 The inner part 62 can be continuously covered so that the appearance can be improved, and the interior material for the vehicle compartment 2 having a good appearance can be formed, and the cover body 22 is rotated to the edge piece 66 on the outer side of the vehicle compartment, thereby The inflating passage 31 can be formed large and the airbag 31 can be inflated and deployed smoothly.

Further, since the airbag device 21 is configured in a state where the inflator, the airbag 31, and the cover body 22 constituting a part of the door trim are attached to the attachment body 34, the module of the airbag device 21 is provided. And unitization are possible, and workability such as storage, transport and assembly work to the door portion 1 of the vehicle body can be improved.

Further, the planned break portion 99 arranged along the longitudinal direction of the door portion 73 is formed so as to connect the tear line openings 101 formed intermittently, so that the tear line openings 101 are intermittently connected by the tear line openings 101. Therefore, the door 73 having a large longitudinal dimension is quickly separated from the portion provided with the mounting fixing portion 96 of the support piece 87, compared to the configuration in which only the planned fracture portion continuous with the entire length is provided, and the door portion 73 can be deployed smoothly and quickly.

Therefore, as in the present embodiment, for the outer portion 61, the outer skin layer 77 is integrally formed on the surface of the outer substrate portion 76, and slits are formed in the outer skin layer 77 to adjust the development characteristics of the door portion 73. For the cover body 22 that is not easy to squeeze, the unfolding characteristic of the door part 73 where the outer part 61 and the inner part 62 are joined can be easily set by smoothly and quickly breaking the planned breaking part 99 of the inner part 62.

In addition, by changing the length of the planned break portion 99 provided by dividing it at multiple locations and adding strength, the deflection of the door portion 73 when the airbag 31 is deployed is suppressed. The door 73 can be smoothly deployed. That is, the pressure difference inside the airbag 31 determined according to the state of the gas flow introduced from the inflator, such as the folded shape of the airbag 31 and the mounting position of the inflator, i.e., the airbag 31 is connected to the inner door portion 84, that is, the door portion 73. Corresponding to the distribution state of the pressing force, the shape of the plurality of tear line openings 101 of the support piece portion 87 and the planned break portion 99, that is, the base portion 90 is set. In the portion, the tear line opening 101 is set to be relatively large, that is, the break planned portion 99 is set to be relatively short, while at both end portions in the longitudinal direction of the door portion 73, the tear line opening 101 is small, that is, to be broken Since the part 99 is set long, the door part 73 can be uniformly and smoothly developed along the longitudinal direction.

Further, as described above, when the airbag 31 is inflated and deployed, the planned break portion 99 provided in the support piece portion 87 of the inner portion 62 and at least the short side portion 72b of the partition portion 72 provided in the outer portion 61 are broken. Therefore, the door 73 can be smoothly rotated in a wide temperature range, and the airbag 31 can be inflated and deployed smoothly.

Further, since the door 73 of the cover body 22 is pivoted to the side of the vehicle interior, the airbag 31 is guided to the outside of the vehicle interior, and the airbag 31 is smoothly deployed along the window glass 14 of the window 15. it can.

In the above-described embodiment, the pedestal portion 90 is partly a box shape with the side plate portions 104 projecting from both sides of the guide plate portion 103, and the other portion is one of the central portion of the guide plate portion 103. Although the cross section is substantially H-shaped with the side plate portion 104 projecting from the place, it is not limited to this configuration, and only the box-shaped pedestal 90 is formed, or only the pedestal 90 having a substantially H-shaped cross section is formed. You can also. Alternatively, the base 90 may be a solid configuration that does not have a space between the guide plate 103 and the inner door 84.

In the above embodiment, the cover body 22 has been described as covering a part of the door portion 1. However, the present invention is not limited to this configuration, and the cover body 22 can have an appropriate shape, and the entire door portion 1 is integrated. It can also be formed as a door trim covering. Furthermore, the present invention can be applied to an airbag device provided in an instrument panel other than the door portion 1.

In the above embodiment, the cover body 22 is formed by laminating the outer portion 61 and the inner portion 62. Further, the outer portion 61 has a skin layer 77 formed on the surface of the outer substrate portion 76 by rim (RIM) molding. Although it is formed thinly and integrally, the present invention is not limited to this configuration. For example, the outer layer 61 and the inner portion 62 can be integrally formed without forming the skin layer 77.

Further, the partition part 72 of the outer part 61 is not limited to the structure formed by cutting the back surface side after molding by a mold. For example, in the structure in which the skin layer 77 is formed on the surface of the outer substrate part 76, the outer substrate At the time of molding of the portion 76 by a mold, a protrusion can be provided on the injection mold and molding can be performed simultaneously.

Further, the tear line opening 101 is not limited to a rectangular through hole, but may be a through hole having an appropriate shape, or may be formed into a long and narrow slit along the longitudinal direction of the planned fracture portion 99.

In addition, the hinge part constituted by the hinge main body part 86 and the partition part 72 is arranged at the corner part between the upper side part and the side part of the cover body 22, and also on the upper part of the cover body 22 and the side part of the cover body 22. It can also be arranged.

Further, the shape and configuration of the inflator and the airbag are not limited to those described above, and various configurations can be used.

The present invention can be applied to, for example, an airbag device that is provided in a door portion or an instrument panel portion of an automobile and protects an occupant.
