Description
本発明は、例えばナノパウダー状のr−ITOなどの不定比化合物が、900から2500nmの領域の近赤外照射の非常に有効な吸収体として機能することができ、たとえばAOMベースのインク組成物に混和され電磁スペクトル(780から2500nm)の近赤外領域のレーザ照射を受けたときにコントラストのあるイメージを生じさせるという知見に基づく。1066nmで、r−ITOは、より低い流束量レベルでCHPよりも濃いイメージを生じた。CHPがイメージを全く生じなかった1550nmでも、r−ITOはコントラストのあるイメージを生じた。
本発明において用いられるIR吸収体は、変色の化学(color change chemistry)にも対応し、吸収スペクトルの可視領域における吸収がないか最小限であり、780〜2500nmの波長での照射の効率的な吸収体であるものである。好ましくは、IR吸収体は、性質上、無機である。それは、200℃を超える温度で、熱的安定性と、良好な光安定性と、耐候性と、を有するものである。それは、完成したコーティング組成物では、無色であるか、あるいは最小限の色を与えるものである。さらに好ましいIR吸収体の特徴は、それが、水に対して安定であり、水への溶解性を最小限とし、水性バインダに対応し/一般的な有機溶媒に対応し、環境にやさしく、容易に入手可能で、無毒であるものであるということである。

種々の基体上への液状フィルム形成インクの塗布によって、はっきりとした色の変化が可能なコーティングを生成できる。主としてインク組成物によって、近IR源への露光が、非常に異なる結果をもたらすことができる。
上記のインクを、RKプリントコートインスツルメント社(RK Printcoat Instruments)のKコントロールコーターを用い、30M Kバーを用いて速度設定4で、PET基体に塗布した。この結果、塗布重量(coat weights)は、8.1〜9.9gm-2であった。
そして、各マーク速度におけるイメージの平均光学濃度を、マクベス(R)TR924のスペクトロフォトメーターを用いて測定した。

インクを、50ml容量のエイガートーランスのビーズミルを用いて、15分間ミリングし、そして、PETフィルム上で引き延ばした。引き延ばしたものを、200ミリワットのパワー出力で動作する1550nmのファイバレーザを用いて、イメージ形成した。レーザ照射が引き延ばし面に当たったところでは、r−ATOおよびr−ITOベースの引き延ばしたものは、どちらも、コントラストのある黒いイメージを生じた。
Claims (19)
- マーキング成分と、
不定比化合物と
を備え、
前記マーキング成分は、前記不定比化合物がない状態では、780〜2500nmの間ではなく2500nmを超える波長のレーザ照射に応じて変色を受け、
前記不定比化合物は還元されたインジウムスズ酸化物であり、780〜2500nmのレーザ照射を吸収しこれにより前記マーキング成分を変色させる、
組成物。 - 前記不定比化合物は過剰に金属を含んでいる、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- マーキング成分と、
780〜2500nmのレーザ照射を吸収し、これにより前記マーキング成分を変色させる不定比化合物と、
を備え、
前記不定比化合物は、還元されたインジウムスズ酸化物であるインク組成物。 - 前記不定比化合物は、10nmから10μmの範囲にあるD3,2平均粒径を有する粒子の態様で存在する、請求項1又は2に記載の組成物。
- 前記径は1μm未満である、請求項4に記載の組成物。
- 前記径は100nm未満である、請求項5に記載の組成物。
- 前記マーキング成分は、オキシ金属アニオンを含む化合物である、請求項1から6のいずれかに記載の組成物。
- 前記マーキング成分はモリブデン酸塩である、請求項4に記載の組成物。
- 前記マーキング成分はオクタモリブデン酸塩である、請求項4に記載の組成物。
- 前記マーキング成分はオクタモリブデン酸アンモニウムである、請求項4に記載の組成物。
- 色生成化合物をさらに備える、請求項1から10のいずれかに記載の組成物。
- バインダをさらに備える、請求項1から11のいずれかに記載の組成物。
- 水性である、請求項1から12のいずれかに記載の組成物。
- 有機溶媒を備える、請求項1から13のいずれかに記載の組成物。
- 請求項1から14のいずれかに記載の組成物でコートされた基体。
- 紙、段ボール紙、プラスチック、布地、木材、金属、ガラス、革、食料あるいは薬剤組成物である、請求項15に記載の基体。
- 請求項15または16に記載の基体をレーザで照射するステップを備える、基体上にイメージを形成する方法。
- 前記レーザは、ファイバ、ダイオード、ダイオードアレイ、またはCO2レーザである、
請求項17に記載の方法。 - 前記レーザは780〜2500nmの範囲にある動作波長を有する、請求項18に記載の方法。
