Description
The present invention relates to a method for forming a plurality of grooves (fastening grooves) such as involute splines on an outer peripheral surface of a shaft by, for example, a power steering shaft of an automobile, and the grooves described above by extruding the outer peripheral surface of the shaft. When an involute spline is formed, a groove (involute spline, etc.) is securely formed until it reaches the end of the shaft, and a plurality of shaft outer peripheral surfaces are formed by extrusion so that the shaft end surface is finished smoothly. The present invention relates to a method for forming a groove (such as an involute spline).
A hollow shaft, which is a workpiece, is composed of one large diameter portion and the other small diameter portion, and a method of forming an involute spline on the outer peripheral surface of the small diameter portion of the hollow shaft (specifically, for example, the small diameter of the shaft) As a method of forming a power steering shaft of an automobile in which an involute spline is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the part, the central circular hole of the die having a tool tooth having an involute tooth shape formed on the peripheral surface of the central circular hole Inside, a mandrel having an outer diameter that is substantially the same as the inner diameter of the hollow shaft that is the workpiece is coaxially arranged, and the large-diameter portion of the hollow shaft that is the workpiece is connected to the central circular hole of the die die from the tip thereof. By pushing into an annular gap with the mandrel, a spline consisting of an involute tooth profile is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the hollow shaft that is the workpiece Which was has been known (see Patent Document 1).
In
However, in
That is, when an involute spline is to be processed on the outer periphery of a shaft having the same diameter from one end side in the axial direction to the other end side, the other end side, which is the final end side of the processing, is extended and cannot be processed. There is a fear. Further, even if the involute spline can be processed continuously over the other end side, the other end side may be damaged or burrs may be generated.
Therefore, there is a possibility that an involute spline that is continuous from one end side to the other end side is not obtained, or a smooth end face is not obtained. In addition, when broken lint, burrs, etc. occur, a removal process is required for this, and there is a problem that the work cost is increased or the work is troublesome.
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a finished product having a high commercial value by reliably forming a plurality of grooves such as involute splines by continuous extrusion from one end side to the other end side of the outer circumference of the shaft having the same diameter. It is what.
According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for forming an involute spline on an outer periphery of a shaft. The hollow shaft is pushed into the die, and a plurality of teeth provided in the drawing die are formed on the outer periphery of the hollow shaft while drawing the hollow shaft by a drawing taper portion provided in the drawing die. Then, when the formation of the plurality of grooves reaches the surplus portion formed on the outer peripheral portion of the shaft end of the hollow shaft by the narrowed tapered portion, the pushing is stopped, and the plurality of grooves are formed. The hollow shaft having the surplus portion is not left in the drawing die, and is slightly larger in diameter than the inner diameter of the hollow shaft and smaller in diameter than the roots of a plurality of teeth in the drawing die. The excess pin formed on the peripheral surface of the end of the hollow shaft remaining in the drawing die by the tip processing portion by advancing a punch pin having a tip processing portion having a diameter to enter the drawing die A plurality of grooves are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft, wherein the inner peripheral portion of the shaft is pressed, the surplus portion is brought closer to the inner diameter side, and a plurality of grooves are formed up to the end of the hollow shaft. Is.
When the workpiece according to the second invention is a solid shaft and an involute spline is formed on the outer periphery of the solid shaft, the solid shaft with a hole drilled in the end is pushed into the drawing die by the punch sleeve. Forming a plurality of grooves on the outer periphery of the solid shaft by a plurality of teeth provided in the drawing die while drawing the solid shaft with a drawing taper portion provided in the drawing die; When the formation of a plurality of grooves reaches the surplus portion formed on the shaft end outer peripheral portion of the solid shaft by the narrowed tapered portion, the pushing is stopped, and the surplus portion where the plurality of grooves are not formed The first punch pin and the punch sleeve are removed while the solid shaft having the solid shaft is left in the drawing die, and then the diameter is slightly larger than the hole diameter of the solid shaft end portion, and a plurality of pieces in the drawing die are provided. Than the diameter of the root of teeth A second punch pin having a tip portion having an outer diameter which is a small diameter is advanced to enter the drawing die, the solid shaft remaining in the drawing die is pushed by the tip portion, and the second punch pin The extra portion is brought closer to the inner diameter side at the tip, and a plurality of grooves are formed on the outer periphery of the solid shaft up to the shaft end.
In the shaft member in which a plurality of grooves are formed on the shaft outer peripheral surface by the molding method according to the first invention or the second invention, the protruding strip portion provided from one end side to the other end side in the axial direction of the shaft member outer peripheral surface is predetermined. A plurality are provided in the circumferential direction at intervals, and one end portion of the shaft member is formed with a protruding portion that protrudes from an end portion of each concave portion located between adjacent adjacent convex portions. It is characterized by.
According to the first invention or the second invention, the outer diameter of the protruding portion of the shaft member in which the plurality of grooves are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft is closer to one end of the shaft member on the side where the protrusion is formed. It is characterized by being narrowed to have a small diameter.
By taking the technical means described above, the present invention provides a finished product with a high commercial value by reliably forming a plurality of grooves by continuous extrusion from one end side to the other end side of the outer periphery of the shaft having the same diameter. can do.
In the first invention, first, while inserting a punch mandrel into the hollow portion of the hollow shaft that is a workpiece, the hollow shaft is pushed into the drawing die, and a plurality of grooves are formed on the outer peripheral surface while drawing the hollow shaft with the drawing taper portion. Form. Then, when the involute spline is formed by pushing the hollow shaft and the throttle taper portion reaches the surplus portion formed on the outer peripheral portion of the shaft end of the hollow shaft, the pushing of the hollow shaft is temporarily stopped. Here, if the punch mandrel is inserted into the hollow shaft and the push-in operation is continued and the surplus portion is squeezed, the surplus portion is stretched and cannot be squeezed, or the surplus portion is damaged. And incurring burrs.
In the present invention, as described above, when the throttle taper portion reaches the surplus portion, the step of stopping the pushing of the hollow shaft, the step of removing the punch mandrel and the punch sleeve, and then the inner diameter of the hollow shaft A step of advancing a punch pin having a tip processed portion having an outer diameter that is slightly larger in diameter and smaller than the diameter of the tooth bottom of the tooth profile in the drawing die, and enters the drawing die, and the punch pin Adopting a step of forming a plurality of grooves to the end of the hollow shaft by pressing the inner peripheral portion of the surplus portion formed on the peripheral surface of the end of the hollow shaft remaining in the drawing die by the tip processing portion Therefore, when the involute spline is fully squeezed to the end of the hollow shaft, the surplus portion is brought closer to the inner diameter side, so that a smooth end surface is obtained although some undulation is generated on the shaft end surface. While also able to form a plurality of grooves to the hollow shaft end.
In the present invention, as described above, once the formation of the plurality of grooves on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft is temporarily stopped, the end surface is broken and burrs are generated, or the surplus portion is fully extended. Can be prevented.
As described above, the end surface of the hollow shaft is in a smooth state where the surplus portion is close to the inner diameter side, and not only a process such as removal of surplus debris is required but also a smooth product at the end of the finished product. It can be obtained and has the effect of increasing product value.
In the second aspect of the invention, when a plurality of grooves are formed on the outer periphery of a solid shaft having a hole drilled in the center of the end portion while drawing the inside of the drawing die, this occurs when drawing is performed by the drawing taper portion. When the formation of the plurality of grooves reaches the surplus portion of the end portion, the push-in is stopped, but when the plurality of grooves are squeezed out without stopping, the surplus portion formed in the throttle portion Since this will be destroyed, there is an effect to prevent this.
Further, in the next step, the above-mentioned surplus portion is brought closer to the inner diameter side of the hole drilled in advance in the solid shaft end portion by the processing pressing body provided at the tip portion of the second punch pin. It becomes smooth and does not require the removal of metal pieces or the like accompanying the above-described destruction, and also has the effect of increasing the commercial value.

The embodiment described below shows an example of the present invention and is not construed as being limited thereto. The method of the present invention described below assumes one embodiment of a method for forming a power steering shaft. In the present embodiment, the method of forming the involute spline on the outer periphery of the shaft is described as an example of the present invention. However, the present invention is not construed as being limited thereto, and other groove forms, for example, , Other splines such as square splines, serrations (triangular serrations, involute serrations, etc.) or knurls, etc. Includes all that is provided in plurality.
[First Embodiment]
1st Embodiment of this invention has the hollow part (hollow part) which the axis | shaft as a workpiece | work used as a process target penetrates from one end side to the other end side, and has the same diameter from one end side to the other end side. An example of a method for forming an involute spline (groove) on the outer periphery of the hollow shaft will be described with reference to FIGS. In this embodiment, it has the following 1st processes and 2nd processes.

It is configured.
In this embodiment, since the punch case (first punch case) 1 can be moved forward and backward by a driving mechanism such as a hydraulic device (not shown), the protruding length of the
In the figure,
The drawing die 8 has a work processing center
In order to form an involute spline on the outer peripheral surface of the
Then, the
The above pushing is performed in a state where the

When the formation of the involute spline is stopped (in the state shown in FIG. 4), the first step is completed.

Next, the second step will be described. FIGS. 5 to 7 show the second step, and the

Here, an embodiment of the involute spline shaft member (finished product) 70 formed through the second step will be briefly described with reference to FIGS. 7, 15, and 16.

Between each adjacent protruding line part C and C, the recessed line part D is formed and this is also provided with two or more by the circumferential direction.
The ridge portions C, C... Have substantially the same shape, and are provided side by side in the axial circumferential direction at substantially the same intervals. In addition, the concave strips D, D... Have substantially the same shape, and are provided side by side in the axial circumferential direction at substantially the same intervals.
And the protrusion part P which protrudes from the edge part of each concave line part D located between each adjacent convex line part C and C is formed in the one end part E1 of the
The protrusions P are formed with substantially the same amount of protrusion, but these protrusions P protrude to some extent on the end surfaces when viewed as the entire one end E1 of the

The region L7 from the region L6 to the shaft member one end E1 on the side where the projection P is formed has an inner diameter and an outer diameter sequentially as it approaches the inner diameter R17 and the outer diameter R19 of the one end E1. It is narrowed to have a small diameter (inner diameter R17 <inner diameter R16, outer diameter R19 <outer diameter R18).
That is, the inner diameter R17 and the outer diameter R19 at one end are the smallest.
Thus, in the process of the present invention, the region L7 is provided with a structure that is gradually narrowed so that the diameter gradually becomes smaller as it approaches the inner diameter R17 and the outer diameter R19 of the one end E1. The
As described above, in the present embodiment, the protruding strip portion C employs a structure that is successively narrowed toward the outer diameter R19 of the one end E1, and thus the outer diameter R19 of the one end E1 serves as a guide portion and is a shaft member. Improves insertability.
[Second Embodiment]
The second embodiment shows an example of a method in which a solid shaft formed to have the same diameter from one end side to the other end side is used as a work, and an involute spline is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the solid shaft.
The second embodiment will be described below with reference to FIGS. In this embodiment, it has the following 1st processes and 2nd processes.

Further, the
