Claims (5)
- 1種類以上の金属を主とする母材表面に金属炭化物表面層を形成する方法であって、
前記母材表面を溶融し、当該母材表面に溶融池を形成する工程と、
前記溶融池に炭素棒を挿入することにより、溶融した母材表面の前記金属に炭素を直接反応させる工程と、
前記炭素が反応した溶融池を冷却により硬化させて金属炭化物表面層を形成する工程と、
を含むことを特徴とする金属炭化物表面層の形成方法。 - 前記母材表面に溶融池を形成する工程において、当該溶融池に、金属炭化物を形成すべき金属を添加して溶融させておくようにしている請求項1に記載の金属炭化物表面層の形成方法。
- 前記母材表面に炭素を直接反応させる工程において、前記溶融池内で母材表面と炭素とを反応させつつ金属炭化物を形成すべき金属を添加するようにしている請求項1に記載の金属炭化物表面層の形成方法。
- 前記母材表面に炭素を直接反応させる工程と前記金属炭化物表面層を形成する工程との間に、前記溶融池内で溶融している母材表面と炭素に、金属炭化物を形成すべき金属を添加する工程を含む請求項1に記載の金属炭化物表面層の形成方法。
- 請求項1乃至4の何れかに記載の方法により、1種類以上の金属を主とする前記母材表面に形成されることを特徴とする金属炭化物表面層。
