Claims (13)
- 光ファイバコネクタであって、
ハウジングであって、該ハウジングを貫通して長手方向に延びるキャビティを形成する内面と前記キャビティ内に配置されたスプリング要素座部とを有し、前記キャビティに連通した前方開口部と前記キャビティに連通した後方開口部とを形成し、前記キャビティの一部が前記スプリング要素座部から前記前方開口部まで前方に延び、前記キャビティの一部が前記スプリング要素座部から前記後方開口部まで後方に延びているハウジングと、
前記ハウジングの前方開口部を通して前記キャビティ内に挿入されたスプリング要素と、
前記ハウジングの後方開口部を通して前記キャビティ内に挿入されたフェルールホルダと、
前記フェルールホルダの前端部の周りに配置されたスプリング要素リテーナであって、前記スプリング要素が、前記スプリング要素座部の前面と前記スプリング要素リテーナとの間に配置され、所定のスプリング力で前記フェルールホルダを前方に付勢し、前記フェルールホルダの外面上のショルダ部が前記スプリング要素座部の後面に押圧されるようになっている、スプリング要素リテーナと、
前記フェルールホルダ内に配置されたフェルールと、前記フェルール内に配置された光ファイバスタブと、を備え、前記フェルールホルダは前記フェルールを受ける通路と連通した第2のキャビティを形成し、前記第2のキャビティは第1のスプライス部材と第2のスプライス部材を受け、前記光ファイバスタブとフィールドファイバとの間の機械的接合を提供する、
ことを特徴とする光ファイバコネクタ。 - 前記所定のスプリング力が、約1ポンド(lb)よりも大きい、
請求項1に記載の光ファイバコネクタ。 - 前記所定のスプリング力が、約1.1〜1.4ポンド(lb)である、
請求項2に記載の光ファイバコネクタ。 - 前記フェルールホルダは、前記光ファイバスタブとフィールドファイバとの間の接合部の品質の可視指標を得るためのビューポートをさらに備えている、
請求項1に記載の光ファイバコネクタ。 - 前記第1及び第2のスプライス部材の間で前記光ファイバスタブと前記フィールドファイバとを機械的に接合させるため、前記第1及び第2のスプライス部材を互いに向かって作動させる、前記フェルールホルダの周りに配置されたカム部材をさらに備えている、
請求項1に記載の光ファイバコネクタ。 - 前記スプライス部材の1つが長手方向のファイバ調心溝を含み、前記光ファイバスタブが前記対向するスプライス部材間で前記溝内に延びかつ該スプライス部材の第1及び第2の端部の中間の位置で終端するようになっている、
請求項1に記載の光ファイバコネクタ。 - 前記カム部材通路が、長軸と短軸とを含む、
請求項5に記載の光ファイバコネクタ。 - 前記第1及び第2のスプライス部材の少なくとも1つが、キール部分を含み、前記カム部材が、前記キール部分が前記長軸に整列して前記スプライス部材を互いに離れる方向に移動させて該スプライス部材間に前記フィールドファイバを挿入するのを可能にする初期位置と、前記キール部分が前記短軸に整列して該カム部材が前記スプライス部材の中間位置の近傍で該スプライス部材を相対的に互いに向かって付勢して該スプライス部材間に前記フィールドファイバ及び光ファイバスタブをクランプする最終位置との間で移動可能である、
請求項7に記載の光ファイバコネクタ。 - 前記ハウジング内面が、前記キャビティ内に延びるキーをさらに形成する、
請求項1に記載の光ファイバコネクタ。 - 前記フェルールホルダが、前記ハウジングキーと摺動可能に係合するための溝を含む、 請求項9に記載の光ファイバコネクタ。
- 前記ハウジングが、該ハウジングから延びるラッチアームを含む、
