Description
が形成される。素子の劣化を防ぐため、従来のEL表示装置は図3のように封止が行われる。基板301の上にEL素子302が形成され、基板301は封止材303と接着剤305によって固着される。封止材303はEL素子302の外寸よりも内寸が大きい凹部を有する形状をしており、そこに吸湿性物質304が配置されている。EL素子302は基板301、封止材303および接着剤305で囲まれた密閉空間にある。密閉空間は不活性ガス(窒素もしくは希ガス)により満たされている。本明細書中において、封止材とは水に弱いEL素子を守るために接着剤を介して基板に貼り合わせるものを言う。
陽極は、スパッタ法、真空蒸着法などの方法で形成され、フォトリソグラフィによってパターニングが行われる。
であり、本体1131、記録媒体(DVD等)1132、操作スイッチ1133、表示部(a)1134、表示部(b)1135等を含む。表示部(a)1134は主として画像情報を表示し、表示部(b)1135は主として文字情報を表示するが、本発明の自発光装置はこれら表示部(a)1134、表示部(b)1135にて用いることが出来る。なお、記録媒体を備えた画像再生装置には家庭用ゲーム機器なども含まれる。
1225にて用いることが出来る。また、表示部(B)1225を、主に操作用パネルとして用いる場合、黒色の背景に白色の文字を表示することで消費電力を抑えることが出来る。
Claims (3)
- EL素子が形成された基板と、
前記EL素子と対向する封止材と、
前記基板と前記封止材との間に設けられた環状の接着剤A、環状の接着剤B及び環状の吸湿性物質と、を有し、
前記EL素子は前記環状の接着剤Aに囲まれ、
前記環状の接着剤Aは前記環状の吸湿性物質に囲まれ、
前記環状の吸湿性物質は前記環状の接着剤Bに囲まれており、
前記吸湿性物質は、前記封止材が有する環状の溝及び前記基板が有する環状の溝に設けられており、
前記環状の溝を覆うようにフィルムが設けられていることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1又は請求項2において、
前記吸湿性物質は、アルカリ金属の酸化物、アルカリ土類金属の酸化物、硫酸塩、金属のハロゲン化物、又は過塩素酸塩を含んでいることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか一項において、
前記接着剤Aは、光照射により処理されたものであることを特徴とする発光装置。
