Description
The present invention relates to a pneumatic radial tire.
The tire includes a pair of beads. Each of the two beads is located substantially inward of the sidewall in the radial direction. The tire is fixed to the rim by the bead.
The bead includes a core and an apex that extends radially outward from the core. The core includes a cord extending in the circumferential direction. Usually, a steel cord (hereinafter referred to as a steel cord) is used for this cord. The steel cord affects the tire mass. In order to reduce the mass of the tire, various studies have been made on the configuration of the core.
In addition to the steel cord, a cord made of an aramid fiber (hereinafter referred to as an aramid cord) may be selected as the cord used for the core. The aramid cord has the same strength as the steel cord. Aramid cords are lighter than steel cords. Use of an aramid cord can contribute to weight reduction of the tire.
The aramid cord is more flexible than the steel cord. From the viewpoint of weight reduction, a core in which an aramid cord is used instead of a steel cord is rich in flexibility. It is not easy to fit a tire having a flexible core into a rim. Such a tire is inferior in fitting property. It is difficult to achieve weight reduction without impairing the fit of the tire.
An object of the present invention is to provide a pneumatic radial tire that can achieve weight reduction without impairing fitting properties.
The pneumatic radial tire according to the present invention includes a pair of beads. Each of the beads has a core. The core is formed by winding a strand obtained by coating a hybrid cord with a topping rubber a plurality of times in the circumferential direction. The hybrid cord includes a wire whose material is steel and a knitted layer covering the wire. This knitted layer is constituted by flat knitting of filaments made of aramid fibers.
Another pneumatic radial tire according to the present invention includes a pair of beads. Each of the beads has a core. The core is formed by winding a strand obtained by coating a hybrid cord with a topping rubber a plurality of times in the circumferential direction. The hybrid cord is formed by twisting a wire made of steel and two yarns made of aramid fibers.
In this pneumatic radial tire, the hybrid cord included in the core includes a wire. The material of this wire is steel. The hybrid cord has moderate rigidity. Since the roundness of the core can be appropriately maintained, this tire has excellent fitability. The hybrid cord includes a knitted layer covering the wire or a yarn that is twisted together with the wire. This knitted layer or yarn is made of aramid fibers. Aramid fibers have high strength and are lightweight. This knitted layer or yarn can reduce the amount of wire used. The hybrid cord can contribute to weight reduction of the tire without impairing the strength of the bead. This tire can achieve weight reduction without impairing the fitting property.

Although not shown, the
The

The

In the

As described above, the material of the
As described above, the
In the
In the

From the viewpoint that weight reduction can be achieved without impairing the fitting property of the
