Description
有効量のすす分散添加剤を含むディーゼル燃料組成物であって、該すす分散添加剤が、数平均分子量が約5500乃至約60000の範囲にある、エチレンとC3〜C10アルファ−モノオレフィンと任意に非共役ジエン及び/又はトリエンの共重合体に、エチレン基を含む不飽和カルボン酸及び/又はその無水物が、該共重合体1分子当りカルボン酸官能基少なくとも約1.8分子の比率でグラフト化した後、更に下記からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種のアミノ−芳香族ポリアミン化合物で誘導体化してなる共重合体であるディーゼル燃料組成物を提供する。
1リットルの円筒形反応フラスコに、シェルソルAB(不活性溶媒)513グラム、および無水マレイン酸3.61%(2.52グラム)でグラフト化されたエチレン−プロピレン共重合体(数平均分子量57000)を加えた。混合物を窒素雰囲気下で110℃に加熱し、溶解するまで撹拌した。N−フェニル−p−フェニレンジアミン(2.6グラム)を添加し、そして混合物をディーン・スターク水分分離器の下で160℃に加熱した。温度を160℃で3時間維持した後、赤外分光法により検査して無水物のイミドへの完全な転換を確かめた。N−フェニル−p−フェニレンジアミンの追加増分(0.7グラム、0.7グラム、0.65グラム)を加え、各増分毎に160℃で3時間加熱し、赤外分光法で反応完了を確認した。分析用に溶媒無しの生成物を調製するために、反応混合物の半分をアセトン(3リットル)に激しく撹拌しながら注ぎ、ゴム状の生成物を沈殿させた。沈殿したゴム状生成物をアセトン(3リットル、3リットル)で2回洗った後、ろ過し、そして105℃の真空オーブン内で一晩乾燥した。
この実施例に記載するディーゼル機関の試験研究は、本発明のすす分散添加剤がエンジン作動中クランクケースの潤滑油に蓄積する能力を評価するために行った。
工程 操作

1 2回の油フラッシを次のようにして行った:
a)SNO-150フラッシ油を満量の印まで計量した(約0.750kg)。
b)エンジンを始動し、約3分間空走させた。
c)エンジン速度を15分間でスロットル全開(負荷無し)まで上げた。
d)エンジンを休止した。
e)真空容器を使用してクランクケースから油を除去した。
f)排油を捨てた。
g)(a)から(f)の操作を繰り返した。
2 試験用燃料タンクから燃料を抜き、ホーウェルLSRD燃料約1クォートでフラッシし、再度燃料を抜き、そして抜いた燃料を捨てた。
3 試験用タンクを試験用ディーゼル燃料で満タンにし、そして試験開始時の重量を記録した。
4 試験油(約0.750kg)を満量の印まで計量し、その正確な重量を記録した。
5 試験用燃料タンクを使用してエンジンを始動した。
6 1500−ワットの加熱器のスィッチを入れて5分間作動させた。
7 排気背圧(EBP)を25インチH2Oに調節し、ボッシュ式燃焼状況読取を行った。
8 エンジンを15分間運転した。
9 EBPを25インチH2Oに調節し、ボッシュ式燃焼状況読取を3回行った。
10 RPM、排気ガス温度、負荷、吸気温度、燃料重量およびボッシュ式燃焼状況読取を1時間毎に1回記録した。
11 エンジンを3時間または低燃料の循環が起きるまで運転した後、休止した。
12 真空容器を使用してクランクケースから潤滑油を除去した。
13 排油を計量し、その重量を記録した。油試料1オンスを集めて標識を付けた。
14 試験の終了時に燃料の重量を記録した。残っていた試験用燃料を抜いた。

本発明のすす分散添加剤を含むディーゼル燃料組成物の長期燃料経済性能利点を明らかにするために、車両の試験研究を行った。下記表1に、この試験研究に使用したディーゼル機関車両を列挙する。

Claims (15)
- エンジンの通常の運転期間にすすが混入してすす濃度が3質量%以上となった潤滑油組成物を用いるディーゼルエンジンの省燃費性を改善する方法であって、(a)主要量のディーゼル燃料および(b)少量かつ省燃費改善有効量のすす分散添加剤を含む燃料組成物を用いてディーゼルエンジンを作動させることからなり、そして該すす分散添加剤として、数平均分子量が5500乃至60000の範囲にあるエチレンとC3〜C10アルファ−モノオレフィンとの共重合体に、エチレン基を含む不飽和カルボン酸及び/又はその無水物が、該共重合体1分子当りカルボン酸官能基少なくとも1.8分子の比率でグラフト化した後、更に下記からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種のアミノ−芳香族ポリアミン化合物で誘導体化してなる共重合体を用い、これにより上記ディーゼルエンジンの潤滑油交換までの期間での省燃費性を維持させ、その低下をもたらさないような状態に潤滑油組成物を維持する方法:
(a)下記式のN−アリールフェニレンジアミン:
