Description
上述した処置の限定しない特定の例は、血管遮断部位におけるバルーンカテーテルの配置である。ガイドワイヤが、血管即ち動脈アクセスが望まれる箇所で最も普通に使用される医療装置の1つであると言えば十分である。
本発明のガイドワイヤは、取扱い特性及び潤滑性を増大させたり、疎水性を増大させたり減少させたり、又は、それらの外面の血栓形成性を減少させたりする性能特性を変化させるために、選択的には、ポリマー又はその他の組成物等の種々の更なる構成要素でコーティングされ即ち処理される。本発明のガイドワイヤは、コーティングされていなくても良い。
本発明が考えるポリマーコーティングは、非共鳴映像装置と共に使用したときのガイドワイヤの視認性を高めるために、バリウム塩等の放射線不透過性フィラーを選択的に含んでてるのが良い。
本発明のこの実施形態では、コイルワイヤ52がコアワイヤ50の実質的に全長にわたってその周りに巻かれていることに注目すべきである。
例えば、無作為に分布したガラス繊維セグメントを有するPEEKコア材料が採用される。ガイドワイヤの遠位部分94は、図示のように、減少させた直径を有しているのが良い。ガイドワイヤコアは、選択的には、ポリマー外コーティング96を含んでいる。コーティング96は、親水性であっても良いし、疎水性であっても良いし、その他の望ましい特徴を有していても良い。

Claims (8)
- MR診療及び治療法のためのガイドワイヤであって、
コアワイヤと、非金属のコイルワイヤからなり、
前記コアワイヤは、遠位部分、中間部分及び近位部分を有し、中間部分と遠位部分との間にテーパ部分を有し、
前記コアワイヤは、編まれていない非金属の不織ポリマー材料からなり、モノフィラメントであり、断面がその全体長さにわたって中実であり、
前記コイルワイヤは、前記コアワイヤの少なくとも遠位部分の周りに配置され、且つ、前記遠位部分に取付けられる、ガイドワイヤ。 - 前記コアワイヤの遠位部分は、その中間部分及び近位部分の直径よりも小さい直径を有する、請求項1に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コアワイヤは、前記コアワイヤの上に配置され且つ前記コアワイヤをガイドワイヤの全長にわたって実質的に覆うポリマーコーティングを有する、請求項1に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コアワイヤは、第2のポリマー材料で完全に覆われる、請求項1に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コアワイヤの遠位部分は、前記中間部分の直径よりも小さい直径を有する、請求項1に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コアワイヤは、螺旋巻きカーボン繊維又は撚りカーボン繊維を有する、請求項1に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コアワイヤは、ポリエーテルエーテルケトンを含む、請求項1に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コアワイヤは、ポリエーテルエーテルケトンを含み、且つ、ポリエーテルイミドで覆われる、請求項1に記載のガイドワイヤ。
