Claims (9)
- 少なくとも100熱出力メガワット(MWt)の電力レベルを発生する軽水炉において同位元素を生成する方法であって、
少なくとも1つの非核分裂性ターゲット(320)を原子炉内に装荷する段階と、
前記少なくとも1つの非核分裂性ターゲット(320)を前記炉内で照射して、少なくとも1つの同位元素を生成する段階と、
前記原子炉のエネルギーサイクルにおいて少なくとも1つのターゲットを照射した後に前記生成された同位元素を前記原子炉から取り出す段階と、
を含み、
前記少なくとも1つのターゲット(320)は、カドミウム、コバルト、イリジウム、ニッケル、タリウム、ツリウム同位元素の1つまたはそれ以上から構成される同位元素の群から選択され、
前記原子炉が、複数の全長燃料棒(18a)、部分長燃料棒(18b)、複数のセグメントから構成された1つまたはそれ以上の燃料棒(18c)、或いは全長燃料棒、部分長燃料棒、セグメント化燃料棒及びウォータロッドの組み合わせのうちの1つを含むように構成された少なくとも1つの燃料バンドル(10)を含み、
前記少なくとも1つの非核分裂性ターゲット(320)を原子炉内に装荷する段階がさらに、
前記ターゲット(320)を格納容器(310)内に配置する段階と、
前記燃料バンドル(10)の全長燃料棒(18a)、部分長燃料棒(18b)、セグメント化燃料棒(18c)の1つまたはそれ以上のセグメント、及びウォータロッド、或いはこれらの組み合わせのうちの少なくとも1つまたはそれ以上内にターゲット(320)を備えた少なくとも1つの格納容器(310)を挿入して複数のターゲット棒を前記少なくとも1つの燃料バンドル(10)内に形成する段階と、
を含む、同位元素生成方法。 - 前記生成された同位元素は、前記ターゲットが少なくとも1つの中性子を吸収するときに、所望の最小比放射能で前記少なくとも1つのターゲットから生成される放射性同位元素、または所望の濃度で前記ターゲットから生成される安定同位元素、のうちの一方であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の同位元素生成方法。
- 所与の休止期間中に、前記原子炉内に挿入されるべき少なくとも1つの燃料バンドル(10)に前記ターゲットを装荷する段階と、
ターゲットを備える少なくとも1つの燃料バンドルが前記所与の休止期間中に前記原子炉の炉心内に組み付けられた後、所与のエネルギーサイクルの間に前記原子炉において発電運転を開始することを含む照射段階と、
前記所与のエネルギーサイクル終了時に前記原子炉を停止する段階と、
停止後の休止期間中に生成された同位元素を備える前記少なくとも1つの燃料バンドルを前記原子炉から取り出す段階と
を更に含む請求項1に記載の同位元素生成方法。 - 前記ターゲットの吸収断面、生成された同位元素の半減期、及び該生成された同位元素の吸収断面のうちの少なくとも1つの関数として求められた前記原子炉内の所望の位置に前記少なくとも1つのターゲットを配置する段階を更に含む請求項1に記載の同位元素生成方法。
- 前記ターゲットを格納容器(310)内に配置する段階と、
前記ターゲットの吸収断面、前記格納容器の吸収断面、前記生成された同位元素の半減期、及び前記生成された同位元素の吸収断面のうちの少なくとも1つの関数として求められた前記原子炉内の所望の位置に前記格納容器を挿入する段階と、
を更に含む請求項1に記載の同位元素生成方法。 - 初期原子炉運転前、または発電運転の合間の所与の休止期間中に前記原子炉の炉心内に組み付けられるべき少なくとも1つの燃料バンドル(10)に少なくとも1つのターゲット(320)を装荷する段階と、
前記原子炉内で発電運転を開始して、少なくとも1つのターゲットを備えた少なくとも1つの燃料バンドルを照射し、所望の比放射能で1つまたはそれ以上の放射性同位元素を発生させるようにする段階と、
前記原子炉を停止する段階と、
停止後の所与の休止期間中に1つまたはそれ以上の放射性同位元素を有する前記少なくとも1つの燃料バンドルを前記炉心から取り出す段階と、
を含む請求項1に記載の同位元素生成方法。 - 少なくとも1つのターゲット(320)を有する1つまたはそれ以上の棒(18a、18b、18c、22、24)を含む少なくとも1つの燃料バンドル(10)を照射して、発電運転の所与のエネルギーサイクル後の所与の休止期間中に前記1つまたはそれ以上のターゲット棒から取り入れられる所望の比放射能で1つまたはそれ以上の放射性同位元素を発生させる段階を含む請求項1に記載の同位元素生成方法。
- 前記1つまたはそれ以上のターゲット棒は、全長燃料棒(18a)、部分燃料棒(18b)、ウォータロッド(22、24)または複数のセグメントから構成された1つまたはそれ以上のセグメント化燃料棒(18c)、或は、ウォータロッド、全長燃料棒、部分棒及びセグメント化燃料棒の組み合わせを含み、
前記燃料バンドルは、複数の異なる放射性同位元素を生成するために中性子束下で照射される複数の異なるターゲットを1つまたはそれ以上のターゲット棒内に含む、
請求項7に記載の同位元素生成方法。 - 前記少なくとも1つのターゲットを格納容器(310)内に配置する段階と、
ターゲットを備えた前記格納容器を少なくとも1つまたはそれ以上のターゲット棒内に挿入する段階と、を更に含み、
前記配置段階及び挿入段階が、発電運転の前記所与のエネルギーサイクル前の所与の休止期間中に前記少なくとも1つの燃料バンドル内に組み付けられるべき1つまたはそれ以上のターゲット棒を形成する工程中に実施されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の同位元素生成方法。
