Description
図1は、この従来の技術において提案されている液体レンズ10を例示したものである。この特許においては、導電性の液体の液滴11が、潤滑層としても機能する絶縁層12に配置されている。制御電極15は、絶縁層12の下に設置されている。液滴電極16は導電性液体の液滴11と直接接触する。制御電極15と液滴電極16の間の電圧差は、エレクトロウェッティング効果を引き起こし、導電性液体の液滴11の形状を変形させる。液体レンズ10の焦点距離は導電性液体の液滴11の形状が電気的に変形して調節される。
本発明の場合、液滴には液晶、エーテル・ケトン、アルコールまたは、電界によって分極されうる任意の有機物質を材料に使用できる。液滴は、導電性である必要はない。その上、電界を発生させるための電極は本発明では液体と直接接触することは必要ない。このようにして、従来の技術における多くの難点が回避される。

Claims (5)
- 第1の液体および第2の液体が相互に不混和であり、第1の液体および第2の液体がともに非導電性である、第1の液体および第2の液体の液滴を満たしたチャンバであって、
前記非導電性は、σを導電率、ωを角周波数、ε 0 を真空の誘電率、εを前記第1の液体または第2の液体の各々の誘電率とするときに、σ/(ωεε 0 )<1で規定されるチャンバと、
電界をコントロールすることによって、前記第1の液体と前記第2の液体の液滴との間の界面が調節可能な、前記電界を発生させるための電極一セットと、よりなるレンズ装置。 - 前記レンズ装置が更に前記第1の液体、前記第2の液体の液滴および前記電極セットの間に配置される潤滑層を具備する、請求項1のレンズ装置。
- 前記潤滑層が少なくとも以下の一つよりなる請求項2のレンズ装置:
テフロン(登録商標)、ポリジメチル・シロキサン(PDMS)、厚膜フォトレジスト、パリレン、酸化ケイ素、または、絶縁材。 - 前記第1の液体が少なくとも以下の一つよりなる請求項1のレンズ装置:
液晶、エーテル、ケトン、アルコール、および電界によって分極化することが可能な有機物質。 - 前記電極セットが円、行列、または、同心円の形で配置されている請求項1のレンズ装置。
