Claims (18)
- コンピュータによって実行される工程を含む、複数のデータチャネルを転送する方法であって、
当該方法が、通信ネットワークを介してサーバと端末とのストリーミングセッションを確立する工程を含み、該通信ネットワークが利用可能なチャネル帯域幅を有し、前記サーバが、第1ビットレートでエンコードされる第1データと、第2ビットレートでエンコードされる第2データを蓄積し、さらに、前記第1データが前記第2データとは異なるコンテンツを示し、前記サーバは、前記第1データ及び前記第2データと前記ストリームセッションを介して前記端末と通信させ、前記端末はバッファを有し、
当該方法が、前記サーバから前記第1データを、前記ストリームセッション中に前記端末に送信する工程を含み、前記端末は、前記第1データを表示し、
当該方法が、前記ストリームセッションのあいだ前記端末を用いるユーザ入力に応答して、前記サーバから前記第2データを要求する工程を含み、前記ユーザ入力によって前記第1データから前記第2データへの切り替えが要求され、前記端末が前記ユーザ入力に応答して前記第2データを要求し、
当該方法が、前記端末が前記第2データを要求した後、前記第2データを平均化する工程を含み、前記サーバが前記第2データの第1部分を平均化し、当該第2データの第1部分が、前記第2ビットレートでエンコードされた前記第2データの第1部分が、前記第2ビットレートより小さい第3ビットレートでの前記第2データのエンコードを表す前記第2データの平均化された第1部分を発生するように前記第2ビットレートでエンコードされたものであり、
当該方法が、前記第2データの前記平均化された第1部分を、前記サーバと前記端末との前記ストリームセッションを終了させないで、前記サーバから前記端末へ送信する工程を含み、前記第2データの前記平均化された第1部分が、前記第3ビットレートより大きい第4ビットレートで前記端末に送信され、前記端末の前記バッファが前記サーバから前記第2データの前記平均化された第1部分を受け取り、前記第2データの前記第1部分が前記端末の前記バッファの大きさに基づいており、さらに前記第2データの前記サーバが前記第1データの送信を終了させ、前記第2データを要求する前記端末に応答して、前記第2データの前記平均化された第1部分の送信を実質的に同時に開始し、
当該方法が、前記第2データの前記平均化された第1部分を前記端末に表示する工程を含み、前記端末は前記バッファを用いて前記第2データの前記平均化された第1部分を表示し、及び
当該方法が、前記端末に前記第2データの第2部分を表示する工程を含み、前記端末が前記第2データの前記平均化された第1部分を受け取った後、前記端末は前記サーバから前記第2ビットレートで前記第2データの前記第2部分を得る
ことを特徴とする複数のデータチャネルを転送する方法。 - 前記第4ビットレートが前記利用可能な帯域幅に略等しい請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第2データの前記平均化された第1部分の送信後、前記サーバから前記端末へ前記第2ビットレートで前記第2データの前記第2部分を送信する工程をさらに含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 異なるコンテンツソースである、第1コンテンツソースと第2コンテンツソースが前記サーバに接続され、前記第1コンテンツソースが第1データチャネルにおいて前記第1データを前記サーバに送信し、前記第2コンテンツソースが第2データチャネルにおいて前記第2データを前記サーバに送信し、前記サーバが、前記第2データチャネルの選択に応答して前記第2データの前記第1部分を送信する請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第1データが第1セットのビデオフレーム及び音声信号であり、前記第2データが第2セットのビデオフレーム及び音声信号である請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記端末がモバイルデバイスである請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記通信ネットワークが無線通信ネットワークであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記方法が、前記バッファが前記第2データの前記第1部分で充填される前に、前記第2データの前記第1部分の再生を開始する工程をさらに含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第1データが第1セットの音声信号であり、前記第2データが第2セットの音声信号である請求項1記載の方法。
- コンピュータによって実行される工程を含む、複数のデータチャネルを転送する方法であって、
当該方法が、通信ネットワークを介してサーバと端末とのストリーミングセッションを確立する工程を含み、前記サーバが第1データと第2データを蓄積し、前記サーバが前記第1データ及び前記第2データと前記ストリームセッションを介して前記端末と通信させ、前記端末はバッファを有し、
当該方法が、前記サーバから第1ビットレートで第1ビットストリームを前記端末に送信する工程を含み、該第1ビットストリームが前記第1データを前記サーバから前記端末に送達し、前記端末が第1再生速度で前記第1データを表示し、
当該方法が、前記サーバから第2ビットストリームを要求する工程を含み、前記第2ビットストリームが前記サーバから前記第2データを前記端末に送達し、前記第2データが前記サーバによって第2ビットレートで蓄積され、
当該方法が、前記サーバから前記第2データの第1部を前記端末に送信する工程を含み、前記第2データの前記第1部分が、前記サーバと前記端末のストリームセッションを終了させることなく第3ビットレートで前記端末に送信され、前記端末の前記バッファが前記サーバから前記第2データの前記第1部分を受け取り、
当該方法が、前記第2データの前記第1部分を第2再生速度で前記端末に表示する工程を含み、該第2再生速度が前記第1再生速度より小さく、前記端末が前記バッファを用いて前記第2データの前記第1部分を表示する
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記第2ビットストリームにおける前記第2データの第2部分を前記第2ビットレートで前記サーバから前記端末に送信する工程をさらに含み、前記端末が、前記第2データの前記第2部分を前記第2ビットストリームから前記第1再生速度で表示する請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記第3ビットレートのビットレートが前記第2ビットレートのビットレートより大きい請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記第1再生速度が前記第1データの通常の再生速度に略等しい請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記第3ビットレートが前記第2ビットレートに略等しい請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記第1データ及び前記第2データが異なるコンテンツをエンコードする請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記第1データがビデオフレーム及び音声信号の少なくとも一つであり、前記第2データがビデオフレーム及び音声信号の少なくとも一つである請求項10記載の方法。
- 第1メディアサービスと第2メディアサービスが異なるサービスであり、当該第1メディアサービスと第2メディアサービスが前記サーバに接続され、前記第1メディアサービスが、第1データチャネルにおいて前記第1データを前記サーバに送信し、前記第2メディアサービスが、第2データチャネルにおいて前記第2データを前記サーバに送信する請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記第1データが第1ファイルによって提供され、前記第2データが、前記第1ファイルと異なる第2ファイルによって提供され、前記第1ファイル及び第2ファイルが前記サーバにすべて蓄積される請求項10記載の方法。
