Description
また、前記RO膜、UF膜又はNF膜は、NaCl阻止率が40〜60%であることが好ましい。さらに、前記RO膜、UF膜又はNF膜の素材はポリビニルアルコール系素材、ポリアミド系素材、ポリサルフォン系素材、又はそれらの複合素材からなることが望ましい。
透過率が100%以上となる理由は明確にはなっていないが、膜の素材と安息香酸との親和性が極めて高く、このため、溶媒よりも高い速度で安息香酸が膜を透過するものと考えられる。しかも、この親和性はpHにより変化するために、安息香酸の透過速度が極大となるpHが存在するものと考えられる。こうした溶質と膜素材との親和性に基づく分離とUF膜、NF膜およびRO膜の本来の分離機構である分子サイズによる篩い分けとが組み合わさることにより、安息香酸だけが選択的に透過し透過液中での濃度が高まるものと考えられる。
実施例1
Brix(糖度)10%に調整したクランベリー濃縮果汁(pH2.5)を、DDS式逆浸透/限外濾過テスト装置(LAB20-0.36/三井東圧機工株式会社製)を用いて回分処理した。NF膜としてNFT−50(DDS社製、膜面積0.072m2/組を3組)を使用し、温度25℃、クロス・フロー流速6リットル/分、操作圧力4MPaの条件で、初発量が12リットルであった原料液が約5リットルに減るまで(容量減少率約2.4)膜濾過を実施した。
Brix10%に調整したクランベリー濃縮果汁(pH4.5)を、実施例1と同じテスト装置およびNF膜を用いて回分処理した。温度25℃、クロス・フロー流速6リットル/分、操作圧力3 MPaの条件で、初発量12リットルであった原料液が約8.5リットルに減るまで(容量減少率約1.4)膜濾過を実施した。
1000 ppm安息香酸/50 mMリン酸緩衝液のpHを2.5、3.5、4.5、5.5に調整した4種の試料液を調製し、実施例1と同じテスト装置を用いて全循環試験を実施した。NF膜としてNFT−50(DDS製、膜面積0.072m2/組を1組)を使用し、温度25℃、クロス・フロー流速6リットル/分の条件で、操作圧力を段階的に変化させて安息香酸の透過率の変化を測定し、図1に示す透過率−圧力線図を作成した。同図に示すように、安息香酸水溶液がpH2.5の場合は100%前後の透過率を示したが、pH3.5と4.5では100%を超えていた。またpH5.5の時は約0.6 MPa以下の操作圧のときに透過率が100%を越えた。
Claims (4)
- クランベリー果実、その果汁、または果汁の搾汁滓の抽出液と共に糖類又は有機酸(安息香酸を除く)を含む溶液から、RO膜、UF膜及びNF膜を用いて安息香酸を分離・精製することを特徴とする抗菌保存料の製造方法。
- 請求項1に記載の抗菌保存料の製造方法において、前記溶液のpHを2.5〜5.5に調整して分離・精製することを特徴とする抗菌保存料の製造方法。
- 請求項1に記載の抗菌保存料の製造方法において、前記RO膜、UF膜及びNF膜として、NaCl阻止率が40〜60%の範囲にあるものを使用することを特徴とする抗菌保存料の製造方法。
- 請求項2または請求項3に記載の抗菌保存料の製造方法において、前記RO膜、UF膜及びNF膜の素材がポリビニルアルコール系素材、ポリアミド系素材、ポリサルフォン系素材、又はそれらの複合素材からなるものを使用することを特徴とする抗菌保存料の製造方法。
