Description
本願は、次の特許出願、即ち、各々2003年5月16日に出願された米国特許出願第10/440,957号(米国特許出願公開第2004/0230095号として公開された)、同第10/440,660号(米国特許出願公開第2004/0230096号として公開された)および同第10/440,956号(米国特許出願公開第2004/0230097号として公開された)の優先権主張出願であり、これら米国特許出願を参照により引用し、これらの明細書の内容を本明細書の一部とする。
本発明は、一般に医療器具に関し、特に内視鏡手技において有用な器具および方法に関する。
最小侵襲手技は、かかる手技が疼痛を減少させるとともに従来型の開放医療手技と比較して比較的迅速な回復時間をもたらすことができるので望ましい。多くの最小侵襲手技は、内視鏡(腹腔鏡を含むが、これには限定されない)を用いて行われる。かかる手技により、外科医は、医療器械およびアクセサリを患者の体に設けた小さな接近開口部を通って位置決めし、操作し、そして視認することができる。腹腔鏡は、内視鏡(多くの場合、剛性腹腔鏡)を用いるこのような「体内手術(endosurgical)」方式を説明するために用いられる用語である。この種の手技では、アクセサリ器具は、体壁を貫通して配置されたトロカールを通って患者の体内に挿入される場合が多い。
本発明は、種々の医療手技で有用な方法および器具を提供し、かかる方法および器具としては、内視鏡に有用な方法および器具、生まれつき備わっている体のオリフィス(開口)を通って用いられる方法および器具、供給管の配置に関連した方法および器具が挙げられるが、これらには限定されない。例えば、一実施形態では、本発明は、アクセサリ、例えば供給管を所望の場所、例えば胃または空腸内に迅速かつ首尾一貫して配置し、器具が内視鏡の取り出し中に所望の位置に位置したままであるようにするよう利用できる。或る特定の実施形態では、本発明は、或る特定の手技に必要な挿管の数、例えば供給管を配置するのに必要な挿管の数を減らすために使用できる。或る特定の実施形態では、本発明は又、例えば供給管の取り付けの際の口から鼻への移送ステップを減少させ、体内でツールまたは器具を切り換えまたは配備する回数を減らし、手技を実施するのに必要な手の数を減らすとともに(あるいは)医療専門家が手技中に手の位置を変えなければならない回数を減らすことにより或る特定の医療手技に必要なステップの数を減らすために利用できる。
図1および図2は、本発明の一実施形態の医療装置10を示している。一実施形態では、装置10は、取っ手100、取っ手100から延びる可撓性カテーテルまたはシース200、シース200に設けられた可撓性軌道300およびシース200の遠位端部に設けられたエンドキャップ400を有するのがよい。取っ手100および可撓性シース200はそれぞれ、内視鏡を挿通状態で受け入れるよう寸法決めされたものであるのがよい。
