Description
本発明は、熱処理されるタイプの要素に限定するものではない。一実施形態では、感光性要素は、柔軟な基板と、この基板に取り付けられた組成物層とを含む。組成物層は、部分的に液化することが可能な、基板上の少なくとも1つの層である。感光性要素は、フレキソ印刷フォームとしての使用に適したエラストマー性印刷要素であることが好ましい。基板上の少なくとも1つの層は、好ましくは感光層であり、最も好ましくはエラストマー組成物の光重合層であり、この感光層は、化学線によって選択的に硬化できるものである。本明細書で使用する「光重合性」という用語は、光重合可能な系、または光架橋可能な系、またはこれら両方の系を包含する。組成物層が、柔軟な基板上に複数の感光層を含む場合、感光層のそれぞれの組成物は、その他の感光層のいずれかと同じか、または異なるものとすることができる。
以下の実施例は、張力下で現像媒体の連続ウェブを使用する、熱現像の方法について実証する。現像媒体は、吸収材料の延伸を最小限に抑えまたは低下させるのに十分な支持体を含む。支持体は、熱現像の前にオフラインで吸収材料に積層することができ、または熱現像中に吸収材料に接触させることができる。

以下の実施例は、積層された現像媒体が、フレキソ印刷フォームのレリーフ面の形成に及ぼす効果を実証している。
現像媒体のサンプルを、室温および150℃で、ASTM D5035による負荷の下、弾性率および降伏点に関して試験した。試験をした現像媒体のサンプルは、実施例2に関して既に述べたものと同じロールからのものではなく、現像媒体の代表的なものであった。試験をした現像媒体は、実施例2で記載したように調製した、標準的なCYREL(登録商標)FAST現像器ロール、Cerex(登録商標)ナイロン不織布(Cerex Advanced Fabrics製、Pensacola、フロリダ)と、CYREL(登録商標)FAST現像器ロール不織布および12ミクロン(約0.5ミル)のポリエステルフィルムの積層体であった。
以下に、本発明の好ましい態様を示す。
[1] 外面を有し、部分的に液化することが可能な組成物層を含有する感光性要素から、レリーフパターンを形成するための方法であって、
前記外面を、前記層の一部を液化させるのに十分な温度にまで加熱するステップと、
前記外面に接触し、張力下で前記外面に平行な方向にある吸収材料を含んだ現像媒体を、前記外面に提供するステップと、
前記現像媒体および前記外面を押圧して、液化した材料の少なくとも一部が前記吸収材料によって除去されるのに十分な圧力で接触させるステップと
を含み、
前記現像媒体が、前記吸収材料に隣接しかつ前記外面とは反対側にある支持体をさらに含むことを特徴とする方法。
[2] 前記現像媒体と前記感光性要素との間に相対運動をもたらすステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする[1]に記載の方法。
[3] 前記現像媒体と、前記現像媒体を支持する接触部材との間に、相対運動をもたらすステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする[1]に記載の方法。
[4] 前記接触部材は、楕円形、放物線状、弓形、円形、半円形、楔形、三角形、長方形、および多角形からなる群から選択された断面形状を有することを特徴とする[3]に記載の方法。
[5] 前記現像媒体を提供するステップは、押圧前に現像媒体のウェブを形成するために、第1のウェブとして吸収材料を供給すること、および第2のウェブとして支持体を供給することを含むことを特徴とする[1]に記載の方法。
[6] 前記支持体は、ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルムおよびポリエチレンナフタレートからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする[1]に記載の方法。
[7] 前記吸収材料は、不織材料、繊維織布材料、用紙、多孔質材料、連続気泡フォーム、およびこれらの組合せからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする[1]に記載の方法。
[8] 前記吸収材料は弾性率を有し、前記現像媒体は、前記吸収材料の弾性率よりも大きい弾性率を有することを特徴とする[1]に記載の方法。
[9] 前記加熱するステップの前に、前記感光性要素を化学線で画像通りに露光するステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする[1]に記載の方法。
[10] [9]に記載の方法により作製されたことを特徴とするフレキソ印刷フォーム。
Claims (3)
- 感光性要素からレリーフパターンを形成するための方法であって、
該感光性要素は外面を有し、該感光性要素は、化学線が照射された硬化部分と、化学線が照射されなかった非硬化部分とを有する組成物層を含有し、該非硬化部分は液化することが可能であり、
該方法は、
前記外面を、前記層の非硬化部分を液化させるのに十分な温度にまで加熱するステップと、
前記外面に接触し、前記外面に平行な方向の張力下にある吸収材料を含んだ現像媒体を、前記外面に提供するステップと、
前記現像媒体および前記外面を押圧して、液化した材料の少なくとも一部が前記吸収材料によって除去されるのに十分な圧力で接触させるステップと、
前記外面から前記現像媒体を除去するステップと
を含み、
前記現像媒体が、前記吸収材料に隣接しかつ前記外面とは反対側にあり、前記外面に平行な方向の張力下にある柔軟な支持体をさらに含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記現像媒体と、前記現像媒体を支持する接触部材との間に、相対運動をもたらすステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記吸収材料は弾性率を有し、前記現像媒体は、前記吸収材料の弾性率よりも大きい弾性率を有し、前記吸収材料の弾性率および前記現像媒体の弾性率は、前記外面に平行な方向で測定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
