Claims (6)
- (a)ハードディスクドライブの内部温度を測定するステップと、
(b)前記測定された内部温度が所定臨界温度以下であるか否かを検査するステップと、
(c)前記ハードディスクドライブのアクチュエータがパーキング位置にあるとき、前記測定された内部温度が前記所定臨界温度以下の場合には、前記ハードディスクドライブのモータ及びプリアンプを所定時間駆動させ、前記(a)ステップに進むステップと、
(d)前記測定された内部温度が前記所定臨界温度以下でない場合には、前記ハードディスクドライブに対して読み取り及び書き込み動作が可能であると決定するステップと、
を含むことを特徴とする低温でのハードディスクドライブの性能向上方法。 - 前記(c)ステップは、
前記プリアンプの駆動用書き込み信号を印加し、前記プリアンプを駆動させることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の低温でのハードディスクドライブの性能向上方法。 - 前記低温でのハードディスクドライブの性能向上方法は、
前記ハードディスクドライブが内蔵された電子機器の電源がオンになるか、または前記電子機器の所定機能が始まるときに動作することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の低温でのハードディスクドライブの性能向上方法。 - ハードディスクドライブの内部温度を測定する温度測定部と、
前記温度測定部で測定された前記内部温度が所定臨界温度以下であるか否かを検査する温度比較部と、
前記ハードディスクドライブのアクチュエータがパーキング位置にあるとき、前記温度比較部が前記所定臨界温度以下を示した場合には、前記ハードディスクドライブのモータを所定時間駆動させるモータ駆動部と、
前記ハードディスクドライブのアクチュエータがパーキング位置にあるとき、前記温度比較部が前記所定臨界温度以下を示した場合には、前記ハードディスクドライブのプリアンプを前記所定時間駆動させるプリアンプ駆動部と、
前記温度比較部が前記所定臨界温度以下でないことを示した場合には、前記ハードディスクドライブに対して読み取り及び書き込み動作が可能であると決定する動作可能決定部と、
を備えることを特徴とする低温でのハードディスクドライブの性能向上装置。 - 前記プリアンプ駆動部は、
前記プリアンプの駆動用書き込み信号を印加し、前記プリアンプを駆動させることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の低温でのハードディスクドライブの性能向上装置。 - 前記低温でのハードディスクドライブの性能向上装置は、
前記ハードディスクドライブが内蔵された電源がオンになるか、または前記電子機器の所定機能が始まるときに動作することを特徴とする請求項4または5に記載の低温でのハードディスクドライブの性能向上装置。
