H0:転動体が超音波センサから半ピッチ離れたときのエコー強度
H1:転動体が超音波センサ直下に位置するときのエコー強度
超音波センサは、例えば、外周におねじ部が形成された筒状のケースおよびケース内に配置された振動子を有しているものとされ、固定側軌道部材に設けられた有底のめねじ部に、ケースのおねじ部がねじ込まれることで、ケース先端に所定の予荷重が設定される。なお、固定側軌道部材がハウジング等に支持されている場合には、超音波センサをこのハウジング等に保持させて固定側軌道部材とハウジング等との接触面を臨ますようにしてもよい。
H0:転動体が超音波センサから半ピッチ離れたときのエコー強度
H1:転動体が超音波センサ直下に位置するときのエコー強度
このエコー比は、転動体荷重と図3に示す関係を有しており、これを利用してエコー比から転動体荷重を求めることができる。玉(5)に作用する荷重が大きいと、接触面積が大きくなって反射波が小さくなることから、転動体荷重が大きい場合には、大きいエコー比が出力される。

Claims (3)
- 固定側軌道部材、回転側軌道部材および転動体を有する転がり軸受と、センサ装置とを備えているセンサ付き転がり軸受装置において、
センサ装置は、固定側軌道部材の周方向に所定間隔を置いた少なくとも2カ所に設けられかつ転動体荷重をエコー比として検知する複数の超音波センサと、各超音波センサの出力から回転速度を求める回転速度演算部を有している処理手段とを備えており、超音波センサは、超音波センサ同士の間隔がそれぞれ異なる値でかつその差が転動体ピッチと異なるように配置されていることを特徴とするセンサ付き転がり軸受装置。 - 処理手段は、各超音波センサの出力から転がり軸受に作用する荷重を求める荷重演算部をさらに有している請求項1のセンサ付き転がり軸受装置。
- 超音波センサは、第1から第NまでのN個あり、転動体ピッチ角度をαとして、第1番目のセンサ位置を基準とした第i(i=2〜N)番目のセンサの位置=基準位置+Mi×α(Miは2からN−1までの異なる自然数)+βi(ずれ量)でかつβi=(i−1)×α/Nとされている請求項1または2のセンサ付き転がり軸受装置。
