【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、被塗装物の塗装面積が大きい場合でも小さい場合でもほぼ均一な膜厚で塗装し、しかも、飛散して無駄になる塗料を少なくすることができるエアースプレイハンドガンに関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、本件特許出願人の出願にかかる特開2001−129444号公報に記載されているとおりに、トリガを引く量を次第に大きくすることによって、霧化エアーの噴出、塗料の少量吐出、パターンエアーの噴出と塗料の大量吐出を順次に行うようにしたエアースプレイハンドガンが公知である。

ここで、霧化エアーとは塗料ノズルから吐出する塗料に吹き付けられてこれを霧化して丸いパターンで噴出させるエアーであり、パターンエアーとは霧化して面積の小さい丸パターンで噴出する塗料流に両側から吹き付けられて偏平に広げることにより、面積の大きい被塗装物を能率良く塗装するためのエアーである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記した従来のエアースプレイハンドガンは、トリガを引く量を小さくすることにより、塗料の噴射パターンを面積の小さい丸パターンとし、小物やスリット状被塗装物を塗料の無駄を少なくして塗装することができるが、組み付け時に部品の寸法誤差が累積して丸パターン時の吐出量にばらつきが生じるのを避けることができなかった。

【課題を解決するための手段】
このような課題を解決するための手段として、本発明は、塗料ノズルの噴出口を開閉する弁扞と、その弁扞と摺動自由に嵌合してトリガの引き動作により後退する管体と、弁扞の後端に形成されたねじ扞に螺入量調節可能に螺合された調節扞と、管体に固定されてその管体の後退により霧化エアー弁を開放した後に調節扞を押圧することにより塗料ノズルの噴出口を開く第1の弁体と、その第1の弁体の前方において管体に摺動自由に嵌合してその管体の後退途中にその管体に形成された突起に係合してパターンエアー弁を開放する第2の弁体と、を備え、前記ねじ扞と前記調節扞との前記螺入量を調節することにより塗料の吐出開始までの前記トリガの引き量が調節されるようにして、霧化エアーのみが噴出するときの塗料の吐出量ならびに霧化エアーに加えてパターンエアーが噴出するときの塗料の吐出量を調節可能とした。

【作用】
トリガを少し引くと管体とともに第1の弁体が後退して霧化エアー弁が開き、霧化エアーが噴出するのに引き続いて弁扞の後端が調節扞に当たって少し後退させることにより弁扞が後退して塗料ノズルから塗料が少量吐出し霧化エアーにより丸パターンで霧化される。

ここで、調節扞をねじ扞に対して回転させると、第1の弁体の後端と調節扞の前面との間隔が調節され、霧化エアーの噴出後塗料の吐出開始までのトリガの引き量が調節される。

さらに、トリガを引くと第2の弁体が後退してパターンエアー弁が開いてパターンエアーが噴出するとともに塗料ノズルから多量の塗料が噴出する。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の一実施の形態のエアースプレイハンドガンを添付図面に基づいて説明する。
図1はガン本体2に軸4によって支持されたトリガ6が大角度引かれた状態の概要を示し、塗料ノズル8、霧化エアー弁10、パターンエアー弁12、が総て全開になっていて、塗料ノズル8から噴出した塗料がその回りに設けられた霧化エアーノズル14から噴出するエアーにより霧化エアーにより霧化され、上下にもうけられたパターンエアーノズル16から噴出するエアーにより水平方向に偏平なパターンとなるようになっている。

図2〜図5は本実施の形態の作動の順序を示す概要図である。
図2はトリガ6が全く引かれていない状態であって、要部の拡大図である図6とともにその構成を説明する。

弁扞18にはトリガ6が係合するリング20と管体22が摺動自由に嵌合しており、その管体22の後端部には霧化エアー弁10を開閉する第1の弁体24がかしめ付けられているとともに、長さ方向の中央部に鍔状の突起26が形成され、その突起26と第1の弁体24との間にばね30の付勢によりパターンエアー弁12を閉じる第2の弁体28が摺動自由に嵌合されている。

弁扞18の後部にはばね受け32が摺動自由に嵌合されており、ばね34の付勢により第1の弁体24に密着している。

なお、ばね受け32は必ずしも必要ではなくばね34で直接第1の弁体を押すようにしてもよい。

弁扞18の後端にはねじ扞36が突設されてそのねじ扞36に調節扞38がねじ込み量調節可能に螺合されており、ばね40の付勢により調節扞38とともに弁扞18を塗料ノズル8に押し付けて閉塞するようになっている。

次に、図3に示すように、トリガ6を少し引くと管体22が後退して第1の弁体24の後退により霧化エアー弁10が開き、管路42を通って霧化エアーノズル14から噴出するとともにばね受け32の後面が調節扞38の前面に近接する。

図4に示すように、トリガ6をもう少し引くと、ばね受け32が調節扞38に当たってこれを押すことにより弁扞18が少し後退して塗料ノズル8が開き、少量の塗料が吐出して霧化エアーノズル14から噴出するエアーにより霧化され、図7のAに示すような小さな丸パターンで噴出する。

図5に示すように、さらに、トリガ6を引くと管体22の突起26が第2の弁体28を押してパターンエアー弁12が開き、管路44を通って、上下両側のパターンエアーノズル16からパターンエアーが噴出し、弁扞18のさらなる後退により吐出量が増加した塗料が図7のBに示すような偏平なパターンで噴出する。

ここで、調節扞38を回転させると、その調節扞38の弁扞18に対する位置が移動し、ばね受け32が調節扞38に当たる位置を適宜に調節することができ、丸パターンで噴出する際の塗料の量を適宜に定めることができる。

なお、図6に示すように、トリガ6を引く前において、ばね受け32と調節扞38の間隔aを突起26と第2の弁体28との間隔bより大きくすると、ばね受け32が調節扞38に当たって塗料が吐出する前に突起26が第2の弁体28に当たってパターンエアー弁12が開くため、塗料は丸パターンで噴出することなく、初めから偏平なパターンで噴出する。
