Description
本発明は、粉末冶金の金属に基づく粉末を主成分として、アルミン酸カルシウム添加物と組合わせて、含んでなる冶金粉末組成物を提供する。このアルミン酸カルシウム添加物は、該冶金粉末組成物から作られる最終の、焼結した、固めた部品の機械加工性及び耐久性を高めることが発見された。
本発明は、冶金粉末組成物、この冶金粉末組成物から作られる固めた部品、及びこの部品の製造法に関する。本冶金粉末組成物は、粉末冶金の金属に基づく粉末、例えば鉄に基づく粉末またはニッケルに基づく粉末、及び機械加工性を向上させる添加物としてのアルミン酸カルシウム添加物を含んでなる。本粉末組成物は他の普通に使用される合金化材料を少量含んでなってもよい。本冶金粉末組成物は、同様に公知の技術を用い、既知の結合剤と混合して合金化粉末の輸送、貯蔵、及び使用中の分離及び/または粉塵化を減じてもよい。粉末組成物は他の普通に使用される成分、例えば滑剤も含有しうる。
限定を意味しない以下の実施例は、アルミン酸カルシウム添加物を機械加工性向上添加物として使用するある具体例及び利点を呈示する。断らない限り、パーセントは重量基準である。
アルミン酸カルシウム含有粉末、及び0.75重量%のエチレンビスステアラミドワックス滑剤(グリコール・ケミカル社から入手できる)と混合した鉄に基づく粉末であった。この鉄に基づく粉末は実質的に純水の噴霧された鉄に基づく粉末であった。このアルミン酸カルシウム粉末は5ミクロンのd50値を有した。アルミン酸カルシウム粉末はBPI社から「アルミン酸カルシウムC」として商業的に入手できる。

Claims (30)
- 冶金粉末組成物であって、
少なくとも85重量%の基本金属粉末、及び
アルミン酸カルシウム粉末であって、アルミン酸モノカルシウム(CaAl2O4)を主成分とし、51−57重量%のアルミナ、31−37重量%の酸化カルシウム、高々6.0重量%のSiO 2 、高々2.5重量%のFe 2 O 3 、高々3.0重量%のTiO 2 、高々2.0重量%のMgO、高々0.2重量%のK 2 O、及び高々0.2重量%の硫黄を含む粉末
を含んでなり、
但し冶金粉末組成物がアルミン酸カルシウムを0.05−7.5重量%含む、
冶金粉末組成物。 - 冶金粉末組成物がアルミン酸カルシウムを0.1−1.0重量%含む、請求項1の冶金粉末組成物。
- 冶金粉末組成物がアルミン酸カルシウムを0.1−0.35重量%含む、請求項1の冶金粉末組成物。
- アルミン酸カルシウムが50ミクロン未満のd50値を示すような粒径分布を有する、請求項1の冶金粉末組成物。
- アルミン酸カルシウムが5ミクロンのd50値を示すような粒径分布を有する、請求項1の冶金粉末組成物。
- 微粉霧された金属に基づく粉末が、該金属に基づく粉末の50重量%が70番の篩を通過し、400番の篩に保留されるような粒径分布を有する、請求項1の冶金粉末組成物。
- 更に銅を0.25−4.0重量%含んでなる、請求項1の冶金粉末組成物。
- 更にグラファイトを0.25−4.0重量%含んでなる、請求項1の冶金粉末組成物。
- 金属に基づく粉末が鉄に基づく粉末を含んでなる、請求項1の冶金粉末組成物。
- 金属に基づく粉末がニッケルに基づく粉末を含んでなる、請求項1の冶金粉末組成物。
- 金属に基づく粉末がモリブデンを0.50重量%、マンガンを1.5重量%、及びニッケルを0.85重量%含んでなる予め合金にした粉末である、請求項1の冶金粉末組成物。
- 結合剤を更に含んでなって、アルミン酸カルシウム粉末が基本金属の粉末に結合している、請求項1の冶金粉末組成物。
- 請求項1の冶金粉末組成物を含んでなる焼結部品。
- (a)請求項1の冶金粉末組成物を調製し、
(b)この冶金粉末組成物を金型中で5−200tsiの圧力下に固め、及び
(c)この固めた部品を少なくとも2050°Fの温度で焼結する、
工程を含んでなる、粉末冶金組成物から固めた金属部品を成形する方法。 - 基本金属の粉末を少なくとも85重量%、及び
アルミン酸カルシウムを含む粉末であって、アルミン酸モノカルシウム(CaAl2O4)を主成分とし、51−57重量%のアルミナ、31−37重量%の酸化カルシウム、高々6.0重量%のSiO 2 、高々2.5重量%のFe 2 O 3 、高々3.0重量%のTiO 2 、高々2.0重量%のMgO、高々0.2重量%のK 2 O、及び高々0.2重量%の硫黄を含む粉末を含む粉末を0.05−7.5重量%、
含んでなる、冶金粉末組成物。 - アルミン酸カルシウムを含む粉末が溶融アルミナ及びカルシアを与える鉱物を含んでなる、請求項15の冶金粉末組成物。
- アルミン酸カルシウムを含む粉末が、
Fe 2 O 3 2.5重量%未満、
TiO 2 3.0重量%未満、
MgO 2.0重量%未満、
K 2 O 0.2重量%未満、及び
硫黄 0.2重量%未満、
からなる群から選択される1つまたはそれ以上の成分を更に含んでなる、請求項15の冶金粉末組成物。 - アルミン酸カルシウムを0.1−1.0重量%含んでなる、請求項15の冶金粉末組成物。
- アルミン酸カルシウムを0.1−0.35重量%含んでなる、請求項15の冶金粉末組成物。
- アルミン酸カルシウムを含む粉末が50ミクロン未満のd50値を示すような粒径分布を有する、請求項15の冶金粉末組成物。
- アルミン酸カルシウムを含む粉末が5ミクロンのd50値を示すような粒径分布を有する、請求項15の冶金粉末組成物。
- 微粉霧された金属に基づく粉末が、この金属に基づく粉末の50重量%が70番の篩を通過し且つ400番の篩に保留されるような粒径分布を有する、請求項15の冶金粉末組成物。
- 更に銅を0.25−4.0重量%含んでなる、請求項15の冶金粉末組成物。
- 更にグラファイトを0.25−4.0重量%含んでなる、請求項15の冶金粉末組成物。
- 金属に基づく粉末が鉄に基づく粉末を含んでなる、請求項15の冶金粉末組成物。
- 金属に基づく粉末がニッケルに基づく粉末を含んでなる、請求項15の冶金粉末組成物。
- 金属に基づく粉末がモリブデンを0.50重量%、マンガンを1.5重量%、及びニッケルを0.85重量%含んでなる予め合金にした粉末である、請求項15の冶金粉末組成物。
- 結合剤を更に含んでなって、アルミン酸カルシウム粉末が基本金属の粉末に結合している、請求項15の冶金粉末組成物。
- 請求項15の冶金粉末組成物を含んでなる焼結部品。
- (a)請求項15の冶金粉末組成物を調製し、
(b)この冶金粉末組成物を金型中で5−200tsiの圧力下に固め、及び
(c)この固めた部品を少なくとも2050°Fの温度で焼結する、
工程を含んでなる、粉末冶金組成物から固めた金属部品を成形する方法。
