【0036】
Y=0.3R+0.6G+0.1B

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus, a control method for the image forming apparatus, and a storage medium, and more particularly, an image forming apparatus suitable for feeding paper according to a user's request, a control method for the image forming apparatus, and a storage medium. About.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, digital image forming apparatuses having an automatic paper selection function that determines the size of a read document and automatically selects an optimal paper feed port have been developed in image forming apparatuses. In this automatic paper selection function in the digital image forming apparatus, when selecting an optimum paper feed port from a plurality of paper feed ports, it is provided for setting that the paper feed port provided in the digital image forming apparatus is not selected. When a switch (hereinafter abbreviated as “non-selectable switch”) is set to ON, each sheet feeding port is removed from the selection target.
[0003]
Also, in the digital image forming apparatus, setting the paper type for each paper feed slot means that the user inputs the desired paper type stored in the paper feed slot from the operation unit and Necessary for checking what kind of paper is in each paper feed slot when feeding paper and forming an image. The user selects another sheet feeding port in which an appropriate sheet is stored, feeds the sheet from the other selected sheet feeding port, forms an image, and outputs the image.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the above-described conventional digital image forming apparatus, there is a paper feed port that feeds paper of a size that matches the paper size input by the user even though the paper type is specified. The paper feed port was automatically selected and fed. The only way to remove the paper feed slot from the selection target is to turn on the “non-selection switch” described above. Also, the switch must be reset to stop paper feeding when the copy mode is different.
[0005]
For example, in a digital multi-function peripheral having three paper feed ports (an apparatus having a plurality of functions such as an image reading function, an image forming function, and a facsimile function), a pre-punched sheet of colored paper is used for the
[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described points, and when performing automatic selection of paper or automatic paper feed port change when paper runs out, paper feeding according to the user's request is performed more than the conventional function. Possible to do anddidAn object of the present invention is to provide an image forming apparatus, a method for controlling the image forming apparatus, and a storage medium.

When the determination result is affirmative, this paper feed port is excluded from the selection target (step S1411). When the determination is negative, any of plain paper, recycled paper, colored paper, and cardboard can be selected ( It is determined whether automatic paper selection 1) is set (step S1430).
[0102]
If a negative determination is made in step S1430, that is, the mode for selecting only plain paper and recycled paper (automatic paper selection 2) is set, whether the paper type of the selection target paper feed port is colored paper or thick paper Is determined (step S1431). If a negative determination is made in step S1431, that is, if the paper type of the target paper feed port is plain paper or recycled paper, this paper feed port is selected (step S1410).
[0103]
If the determination in step S1430 is affirmative, that is, if a mode in which any of plain paper, recycled paper, colored paper, and thick paper can be selected (automatic paper selection 1) is set, the process proceeds to step S1410. The paper mouth is selected. If the determination in step S1431 is affirmative, that is, if the paper type of the target paper supply port is colored paper or thick paper, the process advances to step S1411 to exclude the paper supply port from being selected.
[0104]
If the above processing is performed for all target paper feed ports (step S1412) and there is no selectable paper feed port (step S1413), the same message display as in the first and second embodiments is displayed on the
[0105]
[Other embodiments]
In the first to third embodiments of the present invention described above, plain paper, recycled paper, and colored paper have been described as the paper type, but the present invention is not limited to this example.
