Description

The present invention relates to an optical cord insertion / extraction unit for an optical termination unit used when an optical cord is inserted / extracted for switching an optical cord with respect to an optical termination unit in which a large number of optical cords with optical connectors are connected to the front of the unit. The present invention relates to a work aid.

As an optical termination unit that connects the optical fiber on the line side and the optical fiber on the apparatus side in a switchable manner, as shown in FIGS. 9 and 10, an optical connector 3 attached to the optical cord 2 is connected to the unit side optical connector 4. There is an optical termination unit 1 in which a large number of adapters 5 for connection to the unit are arranged vertically and horizontally on the front surface (front plate) 6 of the unit. This type of optical termination unit 1 is installed in multiple stages in an optical wiring board 7 as shown in FIG. 8, for example, in the case of a large capacity type optical wiring board installed in a station building. The optical module storage unit of Patent Document 1 is slightly different from the optical termination unit 1 but has a structure substantially similar to the basic structure.

When the optical cord 2 is switched (switching of the optical wiring system) in the optical termination unit 1, the optical cord 2 is inserted / extracted. The optical cord 2 is inserted / extracted by connecting the optical connector 3 of the optical cord 2 to the front surface 6 of the unit. The adapter 5 is attached and detached. If the number of optical cords 2 is small, there is no particular problem. However, in the case of the optical termination unit 1 with high-density wiring as shown in the figure, since an extremely large number of optical cords 2 come out from the unit front surface 6, There is a problem that the optical cord 2 around the optical connector 3 to be obstructed makes it difficult to attach and detach the connector, and the workability of switching the optical cord is extremely low.

By the way, it is not a problem that the optical cord is obstructed and the workability is deteriorated, but it is possible to quickly recognize the optical connector to be switched from among many optical connectors when switching the optical cord. As shown in FIG. 11, there is a connector partition plate 9 that is used by being attached to a wiring board (front plate) 6 ′ of an optical termination unit in which a large number of adapters 5 ′ are arranged vertically and horizontally (see Patent Document 2). .
The connector partition plate 9 includes a wiring board attaching portion 9b for attaching to the wiring board 6 'and a trumpet portion 9a for separating the left and right adapters 5'. The adapter 5 'is exposed to the wiring board attaching portion 9b. A window 9c is opened. That is, the wiring board mounting portion 9b is a plate-like window frame that comes into surface contact with the wiring board 6 ′. And the connector partition plate 9 shall be attached to wiring board 6 'with the magnet fixed to the window frame part (plate-shaped part around the window 9c) of the wiring board attachment part 9b.
According to this connector partition plate 9, since a group of optical connectors (or adapters) including the switching target can be partitioned from and detached from other optical connectors, the connector partition plate 9 is searched for the second and subsequent times only by searching for a desired location once. Unless it is removed, it is possible to easily find the position of the desired connector, to quickly recognize the optical connector to be switched, and to bring about the effect of shortening the switching work time.
JP 2001-133636 A Japanese Patent No. 3747596

When the wiring board mounting portion 9b for mounting on the wiring board 6 ′ is a plate-like window frame that comes into surface contact with the wiring board 6 ′ and is attached with a magnet like the connector partition plate 9, the plate-like window frame ( Since the wiring board mounting portion 9b) needs a certain amount of space, it may be difficult to apply when the adapters 5 'are arranged at high density on the wiring board 6'. Therefore, it is not effective for application to an optical termination unit in which adapters are arranged at high density on a wiring board. Further, the attachment with a magnet cannot be applied when the wiring board 6 'is made of resin. In addition, a separate magnet is required, and the mounting structure becomes complicated, which increases the cost.

The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned conventional drawbacks. In an optical termination unit in which a large number of adapters for connecting optical connectors are arranged vertically and horizontally, when an optical cord is inserted and removed for switching an optical cord. In addition, it is possible to alleviate the problem that the optical cord interferes with the workability, and to provide an optical cord insertion aid for the optical termination unit that is effective particularly in the case of an optical termination unit with high-density wiring. Objective.

The present invention for solving the above-described problems is the insertion and removal of an optical cord for switching an optical cord with respect to an optical termination unit in which a large number of optical cords with optical connectors are connected by an adapter arranged vertically and horizontally on the front of the unit. An optical cord insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool used when
One column more adapters arranged in a are respectively inserted into the gap between the left and right sides in the formed adjacent adapters, and vertical plate portions of the right and left of the unit front side forming a right angle plate relative to the front of the unit A connecting portion connecting the curved plate portion that extends in the direction away from the front surface of the unit continuously to the vertical plate portion and that is curved to the left and right so that the distance between the vertical plate portions is increased, and the upper edge of the left and right vertical plate portions. Each of the left and right vertical plate portions is elastically bent against the side surfaces of the adjacent adapters to elastically bend and deform the vertical plate portions between the front surface of the optical termination unit and the adjacent adapters. It is characterized by comprising a temporary fixing protrusion comprising a plate-like protruding piece that is elastically locked and temporarily fixed.

According to the optical cord insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool of the present invention, the optical cord adjacent to the optical cord to be switched can be worked in a state where the optical cord is pushed out of the curved plate portion, so that the optical cord switching work is extremely easy, Workability is greatly improved.
Also, the base end (vertical plate) of the optical cord insertion / extraction work tool that is temporarily secured directly to the front of the unit is a vertical plate that is perpendicular to the front of the unit and is thin. Even when arranged in high density, unlike a conventional window pane (wiring board mounting portion) that is in surface contact with the front surface of the unit such as a connector partition plate, there is no problem that there is no space for mounting. Therefore, it is particularly effective when applied to an optical termination unit with high-density wiring.
Further, since no separate member such as a magnet is required as the mounting structure, the structure is simple and the cost is low.

Hereinafter, an optical cord insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool for an optical termination unit embodying the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

1 is a perspective view of an optical cord insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool 11 for an optical termination unit according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 (a) is a plan view of the optical cord insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool 11, and FIG. The figure seen from the side, (C) is a view from arrow A of (B). 3 (a) is an enlarged view of the main part of FIG. 2 (a), (b) is an enlarged view of the main part of FIG. 2 (b), and (c) is a cross-sectional view taken along line BB of FIG. 3 (b). is there.
The optical cord insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool 11 is, for example, an optical code insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool used when inserting / extracting the optical code for switching the optical code with respect to the optical termination unit 1 described above. The optical termination unit 1 in the illustrated example is installed in multiple stages in a large capacity type optical distribution board 7 as shown in FIG. 8, and is attached to the optical cord 2 as shown in FIGS. A number of adapters 5 for connecting the optical connector 3 to the unit-side optical connector 4 are arranged vertically and horizontally on the unit front surface 6. The optical fiber 12 a taken out from the optical cable 12 on the line side is fusion-bonded at the fusion unit 14 with the optical fiber 13 to which the unit-side optical connector 4 is attached. The optical connector 3 attached to the tip of the optical cord 2 is fitted to the adapter 5 and connected to the unit side optical connector 4. The optical cord 2 extends forward from the front of the unit and is received by a cord receiver 15 and guided to the left in FIG.

The optical cord insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool 11 of the embodiment is a resin molded product such as polypropylene, for example, and is formed on a plurality of adapters 5 arranged in one vertical row and on both left and right sides thereof as shown in FIGS. The left and right vertical plate portions 11a on the front side of the unit (left side in FIGS. 4 and 5) respectively inserted into the gaps 16 between the adjacent adapters 5 and the unit front surface 6 are separated from the unit front surface 6 continuously. A curved plate portion 11b that extends in the direction (right side in FIGS. 4 and 5) and simultaneously bends left and right so that the distance between them increases, and a connecting portion 11c that connects between the upper end edges of the left and right vertical plate portions 11a. It has. The left and right vertical plate portions 11a are each provided with a temporary fixing projection 11d that elastically contacts the side surface of the adjacent adapter 5 and temporarily fixes the vertical plate portion 11a to the front surface of the optical termination unit.
The adapter 5 in the optical termination unit 1 of the embodiment is a part of an eight-line adapter in which eight adapters 5 in a column are integrally molded with resin.
The temporary fixing protrusion 11d is a plate-like protruding piece that can be elastically bent and deformed by hitting the side surface of the adjacent adapter 5 when the vertical plate portion 11a is inserted into the inter-adapter gap 16, but in the illustrated example, the vertical plate portion It protrudes vertically from the surface of 11a to the left and right. Although the vertical plate portion 11a and the curved plate portion 11b are given names that are distinguished from each other, they are continuous and do not have a clearly distinct boundary.

When switching the optical cord 2 in the optical termination unit 1 using the optical cord insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool 11 described above, the left and right vertical plate portions 11a of the optical code insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool 11 are to be switched. The adapter 5 is inserted into the inter-adapter gap 16 on both sides of the adapter 5 in the entire column with the adapter 5 (in the embodiment, eight-series adapter) and pushed into the unit front surface 6 side. Then, the plate-like projecting pieces 11d on the outer surfaces of the left and right vertical plate portions 11a hit the side surfaces of the adjacent adapters 5 and are elastically bent and deformed as shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. 11a is elastically locked between the adjacent adapters 5 and is temporarily fixed.
In this state, only the optical cords 2 in the column including the optical cord 2 to be switched are inside the optical cord insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool 11 and the adjacent optical cords 2 are pushed away outside the curved plate portion 11b. The switching operation of the cord 2, that is, the mounting / demounting operation of the optical connector 3 of the optical cord 2 is extremely easy, and the workability is greatly improved.
Further, it can be temporarily fastened by a simple operation of pushing the base end portion (vertical plate portion 11a side portion) of the optical cord insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool 11, and even when a large number of optical cords 2 are densely packed, It can be easily fixed temporarily.
Further, the base end portion (vertical plate portion 11a) of the optical cord insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool 11 that is temporarily secured directly to the front portion of the unit is a vertical plate portion 11a that is perpendicular to the front surface of the unit and is thin. Even when the adapters 5 are arranged in high density, unlike the plate-like window frame (wiring board mounting portion) that is in parallel with the front of the unit, such as the conventional connector partition plate 9, there is no space for mounting. There is no problem. Therefore, it is particularly effective when applied to an optical termination unit with high-density wiring.
Further, when the unit front plate is made of resin, the conventional magnet system is inappropriate, but the optical cord insertion / extraction assisting tool 11 of the present invention has no such inconvenience.
Further, unlike the optical cord insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool 11 which requires a separate magnet, it can be manufactured only by resin molding, so the structure is simple and the cost can be reduced.
Since the optical cord 2 coming out from the unit front surface 6 extends slightly horizontally in a direction away from the unit front surface and then hangs down immediately, the optical cord 2 group is curved over the entire length of the curved plate portion 11b. It does not follow the plate portion 11b and does not hinder the connector attaching / detaching work. The attaching / detaching operation of the optical connector 3 itself may be performed using a commercially available connector attaching / detaching tool having an engaging claw that can be opened and closed at the tip of the elongated tool body.

The temporary fixing projection 11d provided on the vertical plate portion 11a of the optical cord insertion / extraction auxiliary tool 11 is not limited to the plate-like projection piece 11d protruding vertically in the left-right direction as in the embodiment, but as shown in FIG. It may be a plate-like protruding piece 11d ′ that is not perpendicular to the surface of the vertical plate portion 11a but is inclined (inclined when not temporarily attached) to the distal end side of the curved plate portion. It is also conceivable to attach a separate member such as a metal leaf spring.

In the above description, the case where the optical termination unit 1 is applied to the optical termination unit 1 in the optical wiring board 7 as shown in FIG. 8 in which the optical termination units 1 are installed in multiple stages has been described. Needless to say, the present invention can be applied to an optical wiring board or optical wiring box provided with two optical termination units 1. Further, the structure of the optical termination unit 1 is not limited to that of the embodiment, and various structures are conceivable. In short, the optical cord insertion / extraction work auxiliary tool of the present invention can be applied to any optical termination unit having a structure in which a large number of optical cords with optical connectors are connected by connectors arranged vertically and horizontally on the front surface of the unit.
