Description

The present invention is folded and housed on the upper surface side of an instrument panel (hereinafter referred to as “instrument panel”) in front of a passenger seat of a vehicle, and protrudes upward when inflating gas flows in, and The present invention relates to an airbag for a passenger seat configured to be deployed and inflated to the rear side of a vehicle so as to close a space between the windshield and the windshield.

Conventionally, as an airbag for a passenger's seat, a recessed portion that is recessed toward the front side is provided in the vicinity of the center of the left and right in the passenger protection portion that is disposed on the rear side when inflation is completed. A configuration in which a tether that connects a portion near the recess and a gas inlet peripheral portion disposed on the lower surface on the front end side when the inflation is completed is disposed to regulate the recess shape of the recess in the bag body when the inflation is completed There was a thing.

In this conventional passenger seat airbag, the tether is formed as a string-like material and is disposed at two locations along the front-rear direction in the bag body. The front end side, which is the gas inlet side, is connected to the front side and the rear side of the gas inlet, respectively, at a position away from the recess (see, for example, Patent Document 1). ).
JP 2006-176091 A

However, in a conventional passenger seat airbag, as a tether, a plurality of string-like members are simply juxtaposed in the front and back, and each is coupled to the bag body side, so that the initial stage of inflation of the bag body In this case, when the occupant protection part protrudes toward the occupant side, when the tether is pulled toward the occupant side as the occupant protection part protrudes, the tether also causes the vicinity of the gas inlet to There is a possibility that the portion of the inner top portion of the occupant protection part that constitutes the protruding end side of the recess toward the bag body inner peripheral side may protrude greatly toward the occupant side, as it is pulled toward the side, There was room for improvement in terms of suppressing this protrusion to the passenger side.

The present invention solves the above-described problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide an airbag for a passenger seat that can suppress excessive protrusion to the occupant side in the initial stage of inflation and can smoothly protect the occupant.

An airbag for a passenger seat according to the present invention is folded and stored on the upper surface side of an instrument panel in front of the passenger seat of a vehicle, and protrudes upward when an inflating gas flows in, and includes an upper surface of the instrument panel and a windshield above the instrument panel. A bag body configured to expand and expand to the rear side of the vehicle,
A tether disposed within the bag body to regulate the expansion completion shape of the bag body;
It is set as the composition provided with,
A front passenger seat that has a gas inflow port for allowing inflation gas to flow in at a position near the center of the left and right of the lower surface of the front end side when inflation is completed, and moves forward to a position that becomes the rear side when inflation is completed Equipped with an occupant protection unit capable of receiving
The occupant protection part has a configuration in which a recess that is recessed toward the front side is disposed substantially along the vertical direction at a position that is near the center of the left and right of the bag body at the time of completion of the inflation,
When the expansion of the bag body is completed, the tether is connected in the front-rear direction so as to connect the inner top portion of the occupant protection portion that constitutes the protruding end side of the recess toward the inner periphery of the bag body and the portion near the gas inlet. In the passenger seat airbag having a configuration arranged substantially along,
The tether is divided into two parts, a front part on the gas inlet side and a rear part on the occupant protection part side, and the rear end side of the front part and the front end side of the rear part are coupled to each other. With the composition,
The rear part is composed of a flexible sheet material arranged so as to be substantially along the vertical direction, the rear end side is wider than the front end side, and the rear end side is the inner top part. Along the substantially vertical direction, along the entire upper and lower areas of the rear end, so as to be coupled to the inner top,
The front part is symmetrical with respect to the gas inlet, and the front end is connected to the gas inlet peripheral part in the area extending to the left and right of the gas inlet peripheral part, and the rear part is spread over the entire upper and lower parts. The rear end side is connected to the front end side of the rear portion so as to be able to be pulled substantially evenly.

In the passenger seat airbag according to the present invention, the tether disposed in the bag body is divided into two in the front and rear, and the front portion disposed on the gas inlet side extends to the left and right in the periphery of the gas inlet. And coupled to the gas inlet peripheral portion. That is, in the passenger seat airbag of the present invention, the tether is coupled to the bag body side along the substantially vertical direction so that the rear end side is along the recess, but the front end crosses the recess. Since it is connected to the bag body side in the area extending from left to right, when the occupant protection part protrudes toward the occupant side in the initial stage of inflation of the bag body, the protruding end side of the recessed part toward the inner peripheral side of the bag body Even if the portion of the inner top portion of the occupant protection portion that is configured is pulled so that the protruding end side is directed toward the occupant side as the occupant protection portion protrudes, this tensile force is applied to the left and right areas of the bag body. Thus, it can be received by the front end side portion of the tether coupled to the bag body side. In addition, since the front part is capable of towing the rear part substantially uniformly over the entire upper and lower regions, it is possible to prevent rearward movement of the rear part over the entire upper and lower regions. It is possible to prevent a large movement toward the occupant side with the protrusion of the protection part. Therefore, at the initial stage of inflation of the airbag, it is possible to prevent the portion of the inner top portion of the occupant protection portion that constitutes the protruding end side of the recessed portion toward the inner peripheral side of the bag body from greatly protruding toward the occupant side.

In the passenger seat airbag according to the present invention, the occupant protection portion has a concave portion that is recessed toward the front side at a position near the center of the left and right sides of the bag body when the inflation is completed. Therefore, when the airbag is completely inflated, protrusions that protrude relatively rearward are disposed on the left and right sides of the recess. Therefore, when an occupant moving forward hits the airbag when the inflation is completed, the left and right protrusions protruding toward the rear side of the occupant protection part first receive the vicinity of the left and right shoulders of the occupant. The kinetic energy of the occupant moving forward is reduced, and then the occupant's head restrained by the protruding portion of the shoulder portion is intruded into the concave portion, and restrains the forward movement. It will be restrained. Therefore, in the passenger seat airbag of the present invention, the occupant's head can be softly received while suppressing the reaction force from the airbag while the kinetic energy is reduced by the left and right protrusions.

Therefore, in the passenger seat airbag according to the present invention, excessive protrusion to the occupant side can be suppressed in the initial stage of inflation, and the occupant can be protected smoothly.

Further, in the passenger seat airbag according to the present invention, the rear portion of the tether has a belt-like shape in which the rear end side is wider than the front end side, and the rear end side extends over the entire upper and lower regions inside the passenger protection portion. Since the bag body is coupled to the top portion, when the bag body is deployed and inflated, the portion of the inner top portion of the occupant protection portion constituting the protruding end of the recess can be pulled in a wide range. In the passenger airbag according to the present invention, the front portion of the tether is symmetric with respect to the gas inlet, and the rear portion is configured to be able to be pulled almost evenly across the entire upper and lower regions. Therefore, the inner top portion of the occupant protection portion can be pulled substantially evenly vertically and horizontally by the rear portion, and the concave shape of the recess when the expansion of the bag body is completed can be stabilized.

Further, in the passenger seat airbag of the present invention, the front portion of the tether may be composed of a plurality of flexible string-like materials, in this case, the front portion located on the gas inlet side is Since it is formed of a string-like material having a small surface area, it is preferable that the gas flow of the inflation gas flowing into the bag body from the gas inflow port is hardly affected.

Furthermore, in the passenger seat airbag of the present invention, the front side portion of the tether,
Constructed from a substantially rectangular sheet material with flexibility, starting from the point located in the center of the rear end, the fold along the substantially front-rear direction is attached and the left and right edge side parts are folded, The front end side is substantially along the left-right direction, the rear end side is substantially along the vertical direction, and the outer peripheral surface is configured to have a substantially triangular pyramid shape.
The front end side may be coupled to the rear edge side portion of the gas inlet along the substantially left-right direction, and the rear end side may be coupled to the front end of the rear portion so as to be substantially along the vertical direction. Good.

When the tether is configured as described above, the rear end side of the front part can be combined with the front end side of the rear part over the entire upper and lower parts. The site can be pulled more evenly across the entire top and bottom.

Further, when the front part of the tether has the above-described configuration, the front part is folded with the mountain folds at the left and right edges so that the lower part is opened when the bag body is completely inflated. In such a configuration, since the front portion is closed on the upper side, the inflation gas flowing into the interior from the gas inlet when the airbag is deployed and inflated, The inflow into the front portion is suppressed, and smoothly flows into the bag body. Further, in the above configuration, since an inclined surface that is inclined toward the rear upper side is formed at the upper surface portion of the front portion, the inflation gas flowing in from the gas inlet is guided by the inclined surface. It is preferable that the air bag flows into the rear upper side so that the airbag can be expanded widely and quickly.

DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. It is made into the shape divided | segmented into the left-right center and the left-right center of the lower side wall part 16b. Further, the rear edges 51d and 57d of the left panel portion 51 and the right panel portion 57 are configured so that the outer shape matches the later-described outer edges 64a and 65a of the left member 64 and the right member 65 of the occupant side panel portion 63. Has been.

The occupant side panel portion 63 is composed of a left side member 64 and a right side member 65 that are shaped like a substantially rugby ball-shaped base fabric that is arranged with the longitudinal direction thereof being substantially aligned vertically. The left member 64 and the right member 65 are symmetrical. Further, the left side member 64 and the right side member 65 are configured in such a shape that the outer edges 64a and 65a are along the rear edges 51d and 57d of the left panel part 51 and the right panel part 57, respectively.

Further, the airbag 15 of the embodiment is provided with a substantially circular reinforcing cloth 67 that reinforces the peripheral edge 18 of the gas inlet 19 in the bag body 16. The reinforcing cloth 67 includes an extending portion 67a extending forward from the gas inflow port 19, and the extending portion 67a is a stitched portion to be described later when the airbag 15 is completely inflated as shown in FIG. Covering the inner peripheral side of 76, the inflating gas that has flowed into the interior from the gas inlet 19 is prevented from directly hitting the stitched portion 76. Further, in the airbag 15 of the embodiment, the gas flows from the gas inflow port 19 into the stitching portion 74 (described later) disposed substantially along the front-rear direction at the center of the left and right sides of the upper side wall portion 16a of the bag body 16. In order to prevent direct contact with the inflation gas, a belt-like protective cloth 68 that protects the vicinity of the central part of the front and rear of the suture site 74 is arranged so that the longitudinal direction is along the suture site 74 and the front and rear of the suture site 74. It is arrange | positioned so that the center vicinity may be covered (refer FIG.4, 6). In the case of the embodiment, as shown in FIG. 6, this protective cloth 68 has one edge portion 68 a (the left edge in the case of the embodiment) along the short side direction formed on the left side panel portion 51 when the sewing site 74 is formed. And the upper edge 51b, 57b of the right panel portion 57, and then the other edge portion 68b (in the case of the embodiment, the right edge) is sewn to a portion of the right panel portion 57 near the upper edge 57b. Further, it is disposed so as to cover the vicinity of the center of the front and back of the suture site 74.

In the embodiment, the peripheral wall panel portion 50, the occupant side panel portion 63, the reinforcing cloth 67, the protective cloth 68, the rectifying cloth materials 32L, 32R constituting the rectifying cloth 28, and the tether 37 constituting the bag body 16 are constituted. The front portion base fabric 44 and the rear portion base fabric 47 are formed of a flexible woven fabric made of polyester yarn, polyamide yarn or the like, and are configured as non-coated fabrics to which a coating material such as silicon is not applied. Has been.

Next, manufacture of the airbag 15 of embodiment is described. The left side member 64 and the right side member 65 of the occupant side panel 63 are previously overlapped with each other so that their peripheral edges coincide with each other in a flattened state, and further, a rear part base constituting the rear part 42 of the tether 37 is obtained. The cloth 47 is overlapped, and the inner edges 64b and 65b and the rear end 47b are sewn together using a suture thread to form a stitched portion 71 and an occupant side panel portion 63 (A in FIG. 11). reference). Then, as shown in FIG. 9A, the left panel 51 and the right panel 57 are overlapped so that the peripheral edges thereof coincide with each other in a flat developed state, and the lower edges 51c and 57c are mutually connected with a suture. Are sewn together to form a stitched portion 72 (see B in FIG. 9). After that, as shown in FIG. 9B, the sutured portion 72 is positioned inside, the protrusions 55 and 61 are overlapped with each other, and the left panel 51 and the right panel 57 are separated from each other. 10A and 10B, the flow regulating fabric materials 32L and 32R, the front portion base fabric 44 constituting the front portion 38 of the tether 37, and the reinforcing cloth 67 are sequentially stacked, and the gas inlet 19 Of the peripheral edge 18 and the peripheral part of the connecting part 33 in the straightening cloth materials 32L and 32R (the peripheral part of the connecting part side part 45 in the front part base cloth 44) using sutures. , And a stitched portion 73 is formed. Thereafter, the gas inlet 19 and the mounting hole 20 are formed by drilling.

Next, as shown in FIG. 11A, the left panel 51 and the right panel 57 are overlapped so that their peripheral edges coincide with each other, and at the predetermined position of the upper edge 51 b in the left panel 51, the protective cloth 68 is placed. Of the left panel 51 and the right panel 57, and the edge 68a of the protective cloth 68 is sewn with a suture to form a stitched portion 74. To do. Then, the protective cloth 68 in which one edge 68a is sewn by the sewing part 71 is overlapped on the sewing part 74 so as to cover the inner peripheral side of the sewing part 74 at the part between the edges 68a and 68b. The edge portion 68b is sewn to a portion of the right panel portion 57 near the upper edge 57b. Thereafter, the rear edges of the left panel 51 and the right panel 57 on the rear edges 51d and 57d are matched to the outer shape of the occupant side panel 63 widened so as to separate the outer edges 64a and 65a. 51d and 57d are spread apart. Then, the occupant side panel portion 63 widened so as to separate the outer edges 64a and 65a is placed on the left panel portion 51 and the right panel portion 57, and the outer edge 64a of the left member 64 is connected to the rear edge of the left panel portion 51. 51d is sewn using a suture to form a stitched portion 75L, and the outer edge 65a of the right member 65 is sewn to the rear edge 57d of the right panel portion 57 using a suture to form a stitched portion 75R. (See B in FIG. 11).

Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 11C, the edges of the main body portion 34 of the rectifying fabric materials 32L and 32R are sewn together to form the rectifying fabric 28, and then the main body portion side of the front portion base fabric 44 The portion 46 is folded at the creases CL1 and CL2, and the rear end 46a of the folded state is overlapped with the front end 47a of the rear portion base fabric 47, and is sewn over the entire width direction to form the tether 37. To do. Thereafter, the unsealed portions (front edges 51a, 57a) of the left panel portion 51 and the right panel portion 57 are reversed so that the seam allowance of the edges is not exposed to the outside, and then as shown in FIG. 11D. Furthermore, the airbag 15 can be manufactured by sewing the front edges 51a and 57a of the left panel portion 51 and the right panel portion 57 to form the stitched portion 76.

And in the airbag 15 of embodiment, the left side panel part 51 and the right side panel part 57 which comprise the surrounding wall panel part 50, and the left side member 64 and the right side member 65 which comprise the passenger | crew side panel part 63 are respectively the left and right of the same shape. The left side member 64 and the right side member 65 are configured as a pair so that the outer edges 64a and 65a extend along the rear edges 51d and 57d of the left panel portion 51 and the right panel portion 57, respectively. . Therefore, if the corresponding edges are overlapped at the time of sewing operation of the airbag 15, the positions of the edges to be sewn can be matched, and a three-dimensional sewing operation is not required, It is possible to easily manufacture the airbag 15 having a three-dimensional shape with the recessed portion 24 and the protruding portions 25L and 25R.

In the airbag 15 according to the embodiment, the bag body 16 crosses the stitched portions 72, 74, 75L, and 75R formed by sewing the peripheral edges of the peripheral wall panel portion 50 and the occupant side panel portion 63. In this way, although the structure is formed, the portions of the base fabric that form the vicinity of the intersections P1, P2 (see B in FIG. 11) where these stitched portions 72, 74, 75L, and 75R intersect are respectively angled. The total sum is less than 360 °. That is, in the airbag 15 of the embodiment, as shown in FIG. 9A and FIG. 11B, the intersection angle α1 between the upper edge 51b and the rear edge 51d in the left panel 51 and the upper edge in the right panel 57 The sum of the intersection angle α2 between 57b and the rear edge 57d (coincidence with the intersection angle α1) and the intersection angle β1 between the outer edges 64a and 65a of the occupant side panel portion 63 is set to be less than 360 °. Similarly, the intersection angle γ1 between the lower edge 51c and the rear edge 51d in the left panel portion 51, the intersection angle γ2 (matching the intersection angle γ1) between the lower edge 57c and the rear edge 57d in the right panel portion 57, and the occupant The sum of the intersection angle θ1 with the outer edges 64a and 65a in the side panel portion 63 is set to be less than 360 °. For this reason, it is possible to reduce an area where the stitched portions 72, 74, 75L, and 75R greatly overlap at the time of the stitching operation of the airbag 15, so that automatic sewing is facilitated, which is preferable.

After the airbag 15 is manufactured, the airbag 15 is folded in a state where the retainer 11 is disposed inside the bolts 11a so that the bolts 11a protrude from the mounting holes 20. Specifically, as shown in the schematic diagrams shown in FIGS. 12A and 12B, the airbag 15 is predetermined so that the vicinity of the upper and lower central portions of the occupant side panel portion 63 constituting the occupant protection portion 23 is flatly deployed. Folded along the left and right direction at the location, folded from the pre-folded airbag 78 made substantially flat, folded horizontally along the left and right direction, and folded along the front and rear direction It will be folded through the vertical folding. Specifically, as shown in FIGS. 13A to 13C, the rear portion 79 which is the rear side of the gas inflow port 19 in the preliminary folding airbag 78 has an end portion so as to make a crease along the left-right direction. 79a is wound around the lower side wall portion 16b and roll-folded so as to be placed on the gas inlet 19 and then, as shown in FIGS. 13C and 13D, in front of the gas inlet 19 in the preliminary folding airbag 78. The front portion 80 is folded along the left-right direction, and the rear portion 79 is placed on a folding portion 81 formed by roll-folding to complete the horizontal folding. Next, in the airbag 82 after lateral folding, as shown in FIGS. 13D and 13D, a left side portion 83 that is the left side of the gas inlet 19 and a right side portion 84 that is the right side of the gas inlet 19 are shown in FIGS. Each is folded in the longitudinal direction so that the ends 83a and 84a are close to the gas inlet 19 side. In the case of the embodiment, the left side portion 83 and the right side portion 84 are roll-folded so that the end portions 83a and 84a are wound around the lower side wall portion 16b, respectively.

Then, when the folding of the airbag 15 is completed, the folded airbag 15 is wrapped around with a wrapping sheet 13 (see FIG. 1) that can be broken so as not to collapse. Then, the folded airbag 15 is placed on the bottom wall 6 a of the case 6 while the bolts 11 a are inserted through the bottom wall 6 a of the case 6. Next, the main body 8a of the inflator 8 is inserted into the case 6 from below the bottom wall 6a, and the bolts 11a protruding downward from the bottom wall 6a are inserted through the flange 8c of the inflator 8. . Thereafter, when the nut 12 is fastened to each bolt 11 a protruding from the flange portion 8 c of the inflator 8, the folded airbag 15 and the inflator 8 can be attached to the bottom wall portion 6 a of the case 6.

Then, the peripheral wall portion 6b of the case 6 is locked to the connecting wall portion 10c of the airbag cover 10 in the instrument panel 1 mounted on the vehicle, and a predetermined bracket (not shown) of the case 6 is fixed to the body side of the vehicle. In this case, the passenger seat airbag device M can be mounted on the vehicle.

If the inflation gas is discharged from each gas discharge port 8b of the inflator 8 at the time of a frontal collision of the vehicle after mounting the airbag device M for the passenger seat on the vehicle, the airbag 15 is inflated and the wrapping sheet 13 is removed. While breaking, the door portions 10a and 10b of the airbag cover 10 are pushed and opened as shown in the two-dot chain line of FIG. 1 and FIG. The airbag 15 protrudes upward from the opening formed by opening the door portions 10a and 10b of the airbag cover 10, and expands and inflates toward the rear side of the vehicle. 14 and 15, the expansion is completed.

In the airbag 15 according to the embodiment, the tether 37 disposed in the bag body 16 is divided into two in the front and rear directions, and the front portion 38 disposed on the gas inlet 19 side includes the gas inlet 19. In the area extending to the left and right at the peripheral edge 18, the gas inlet 19 is coupled to the peripheral edge 18. In the case of the embodiment, the front portion 38 is formed by a substantially annular (particularly, a semicircular area on the rear edge side of the gas inlet 19) disposed over the entire periphery 18 of the gas inlet 19. It is sewn to the peripheral wall panel part 50 which comprises the bag main body 16. FIG. That is, in the airbag 15 of the embodiment, the tether 37 has the bag main body with the rear end side (the rear end 42b side of the rear portion 42) along the concave portion 24 of the bag main body 16 along the substantially vertical direction. Although it is coupled to the 16 side, the front end side (the front end 38 a side of the front side portion 38) is coupled to the bag body 16 side in an area extending to the left and right intersecting the recess 24 when viewed from the front-rear direction. Therefore, when the occupant protection part 23 protrudes toward the occupant MP side in the initial stage of expansion of the bag body 16, the inside of the occupant protection part 23 constituting the protruding end 24 a side of the recess 24 toward the inner peripheral side of the bag body 16. Even if the portion of the top portion 23c (the stitched portion 71) is pulled so that the protruding end 24a side is directed toward the occupant side as the occupant protection portion 23 protrudes, It can be received by the front end 38a side portion (stitched portion 73) of the tether 37 coupled to the bag body 16 side by the extended area. Further, since the front part 38 is capable of pulling the rear part 42 substantially evenly across the entire upper and lower parts, the rearward movement of the rear part 42 can be prevented over the entire upper and lower parts, and the tether 37 It can prevent that the whole moves largely to the passenger | crew MP side with the protrusion of the passenger | crew protection part 23. FIG. Therefore, at the initial stage of inflation of the airbag 15, the stitched portion 71, which is the portion of the inner top portion 23c of the occupant protection portion 23 that constitutes the protruding end 24a side of the recess 24 toward the inner peripheral side of the bag body 16, faces the occupant MP side. Can be prevented from protruding greatly.

And in the airbag 15 of embodiment, the passenger | crew protection part 23 has the recessed part 24 which makes it dent toward the front side in the position used as the center vicinity of the right and left in the bag main body 16 at the time of completion | finish of inflation substantially vertical. Since the air bag 15 is disposed along the air bag 15, the protrusions 25L and 25R that protrude relatively rearward are disposed on both the left and right sides of the recess 24 when the inflation of the airbag 15 is completed. (See FIG. 14). Therefore, when the occupant MP moving forward hits the airbag 15 when the inflation is completed, the left and right projecting portions 25L and 25R that project toward the rear side in the occupant protection unit 23 are first left and right of the occupant MP. As a result, the kinetic energy of the occupant MP moving forward is reduced, and then the shoulders MSL and MSR are restrained by the protrusions 25L and 25R, as shown in FIG. The head MH of the occupant MP is restrained so as to suppress the movement to the front side while entering the portion of the recess 24. Therefore, in the airbag 15 of the embodiment, the head MH of the occupant MP is softly received while suppressing the reaction force from the airbag 15 in a state where the kinetic energy is reduced by the left and right protrusions 25L and 25R. Can do.

Therefore, in the airbag 15 of the embodiment, it is possible to smoothly protect the occupant MP by suppressing excessive protrusion to the occupant MP side in the initial stage of inflation.

Further, in the airbag 15 of the embodiment, the rear portion 42 of the tether 37 has a belt-like shape in which the rear end 42b side is wider than the front end 42a side, and the rear end 42b side is occupant protected over the entire upper and lower regions. Since the inner top portion 23c (sewn portion 71) of the portion 23 is sewn, the inner top portion 23c (sewn portion 71) of the occupant protection portion 23 constituting the protruding end 24a of the recess 24 when the bag body 16 is expanded and inflated. Can be pulled in a wide range up and down. In the airbag 15 according to the embodiment, the front side portion 38 of the tether 37 is symmetric with respect to the gas inlet 19 and is configured to be able to pull the rear side portion 42 substantially uniformly over the entire upper and lower regions. Therefore, the portion of the inner top portion 23c (the stitched portion 71) in the occupant protection portion 23 can be pulled substantially evenly vertically and horizontally by the rear portion 42, and the recess when the expansion of the bag body 16 is completed. 24 dent shapes can be stabilized.

In particular, in the airbag 15 of the embodiment, as shown in FIG. 15, the rear portion 42 has the occupant MP's MP so that the width dimension W2 on the rear end 42b side is larger than the vertical dimension of the human face. The rear end 42b of the rear portion 42 is set to a dimension that substantially matches the vertical width dimension of the head MH, and the rear end 42b of the rear portion 42 is the head of the occupant MP at the protruding end 24a of the recess 24 in the bag body 16 when inflation is completed. It is sewn to the part arrange | positioned facing the part MH. Therefore, the airbag 15 completes inflating in a state in which the position facing the head MH of the occupant MP in the recessed portion 24 is reliably greatly recessed, and the recessed portion 24 that has greatly recessed the head MH of the occupant MP. By this, it can be received softly. Of course, if this point is not taken into consideration, the width dimension on the rear end side in the rear part may be set smaller than the upper and lower width dimensions of the human face. Further, it may be configured to be coupled to a position that is above or below the head on the protruding end side of the recess of the bag main body when the inflation is completed.

In the airbag 15 according to the embodiment, the front portion 38 of the tether 37 is constituted by the front portion base fabric 44 made of a flexible sheet material, and the rear end 46a of the front portion base fabric 44 is provided. Starting from a point (center point) 46b located in the center of the fold, the folds CL1, CL2 along the substantially front-rear direction are attached, the left and right edge side parts are folded, and the front end 38a side is substantially along the left-right direction. The rear end 38b is arranged in a substantially vertical direction so that the outer peripheral surface has a substantially triangular pyramid shape. Then, the front end 38a side of the front side portion 38 is coupled to the entire periphery 18 including the rear edge side of the gas inflow port 19 at the stitching portion 73, and the rear end 38b side is substantially along the vertical direction. Thus, the front end 42a of the rear portion 42 is coupled. Therefore, in the airbag 15 according to the embodiment, the rear end 38b side of the front portion 38 can be coupled to the front end 42a side of the rear portion 42 over the entire upper and lower regions. By the portion 38, the rear portion 42 can be pulled evenly over the entire upper and lower regions.

Furthermore, in the airbag 15 according to the embodiment, the front side portion 38 of the tether 37 is opened at the left and right edges so that the lower side is opened when the bag body 16 is completely inflated. Therefore, the front side portion 38 is closed on the upper side, and the inflation gas that has flowed into the inside from the gas inlet 19 when the airbag 15 is deployed and inflated enters the front side portion 38. The inflow is suppressed and smoothly flows into the bag body 16. In particular, the air bag 15 of the embodiment is provided with a rectifying cloth 28 that restricts the inflow direction of the inflating gas flowing into the inside from the gas inflow port 19 in the front-rear direction. Therefore, the rectifying function of the rectifying cloth 28 is not hindered. Further, in the airbag 15 of the embodiment, an inclined surface 40b that is inclined toward the rear upper side is formed in a portion on the upper surface side of the front side portion 38 in the tether 37. As shown in FIG. 7, the gas G is guided by the inclined surface 40 b and flows into the rear upper side, so that the airbag 15 can be expanded widely and quickly quickly. preferable. Of course, if such a point is not taken into consideration, the front side portion of the tether may be formed into a substantially triangular pyramid shape that is folded so that the left and right edge side portions are directed upward so that the upper side is opened.

In the embodiment, the front portion 38 of the tether 37 is configured to be coupled by the coupling portion 39 over the entire circumference of the peripheral edge 18 of the gas inlet 19 in the bag body 16. The shape of the front part is not limited to this, and a structure in which the connecting part is not disposed in the front part, and is joined by simply sewing in a straight line along the left-right direction on the rear edge side of the gas inlet. It is good.

Further, as the tether 86, as shown in FIG. 16, the front portion 87 may be composed of a plurality of flexible string members 88. In the front portion 87 shown in FIG. 16, three string members 88 are arranged. Each string-like member 88 is coupled at the front end 88a side at the three joint points PL, PR, PC separated from each other on the rear edge side of the peripheral edge 18 of the gas inlet 19 at the rear end 88b. The side is connected to the front upper end 42 au or the front lower end 42 ad in the rear portion 42. Specifically, the string member 88 includes an upper left string member 88UL disposed so as to connect the connecting point PL disposed on the left side of the gas inlet 19 and the front upper end 42au of the rear portion 42; An upper right string member 88UR disposed so as to connect the connecting point PR disposed on the right rear side of the gas inlet 19 and the front upper end 42au of the rear portion 42, and disposed on the rear side of the gas inlet 19. It is comprised from the center lower string-like material 88DC arrange | positioned so that the connection point PC and the front lower end 42ad of the rear side part 42 may be connected. In the case of the embodiment, the coupling point PC is disposed on a center line passing through the center of the gas inlet 19, and the coupling points PL and PR are disposed at positions that are symmetric with respect to the coupling point PC on the center side. Yes. The central lower string-like material 88DC is arranged along the front-rear direction, the upper right string-like material 88UR and the upper left string-like material 88UL are symmetric, and the front portion 87 is centered on the gas inlet 19. Will be symmetrical.

Also in the tether 86 having such a configuration, a plurality of string-like members 88 (88UL, 88UR, 88DC) constituting the front side portion 87 are dotted along the left-right direction on the rear edge side of the gas inlet 19 respectively. That is, the front end 88a side is connected to the bag body 16 side at the site of the connecting points PL, PR, PC formed in the left and right areas intersecting the concave portion when viewed from the front-rear direction, and the rear end 88b side is Since it is connected to the front upper end 42au or the front lower end 42ad in the rear part 42, the tensile force to the occupant side acting on the rear part 42 in the initial stage of expansion of the bag main body 16 is an area extending to the left and right of the bag main body 16. Can be received by the sites of the bonding points PL, PR, and PC formed on the surface. Further, since the front side portion 87 is capable of pulling the rear side portion 42 substantially evenly across the entire upper and lower regions, the rearward movement of the rear side portion 42 can be prevented over the entire upper and lower regions. It can prevent that the whole moves largely to the passenger | crew side with protrusion of a passenger | crew protection part. As a result, even if the front portion 87 of the tether 86 is constituted by a plurality of string-like members 88, the inner top portion of the occupant protection portion that constitutes the protruding end side of the recess toward the inner peripheral side of the bag body in the initial stage of inflation of the airbag It can suppress that this part protrudes largely toward a passenger | crew side.

As described above, when the front portion 87 of the tether 86 is formed of a plurality of flexible string members 88 (88UL, 88UR, 88DC), the front portion 87 located on the gas inlet 19 side. However, since it is formed of a string-shaped material having a small surface area, it is preferable that the gas flow of the inflation gas flowing into the bag body from the gas inlet 19 is hardly affected. In the embodiment, two cord-like materials 88UL and 88UR are coupled to the front upper end 42au side of the rear portion 42, and one cord-like material 88DC is coupled to the front lower end 42ad side. The number and the arrangement position of the string-like materials are not limited to this as long as the front part is a left-right symmetric shape centered on the gas inlet, and the front end side is placed on the front lower end side of the rear part. In addition, the configuration may be such that a total of four string-like materials are arranged by joining the rear end sides of the two string-like materials joined to the coupling points PL and PR, respectively. Conversely, two string-like materials are joined to the front lower end side of the rear part, and one string-like material is joined to the front upper end side of the rear part to arrange a total of three string-like materials. It is good also as a structure.
