Description

The present invention relates to a diesel filter provided in a fuel supply system of an automobile or the like, and more particularly to a mounting structure for a water level switch.

Diesel engines have long been used as engines for automobiles and the like. In a diesel engine, light oil fuel in a fuel tank is filtered by a diesel filter, the filtered fuel is compressed to a high pressure by an injection pump, injected from an injector into a combustion chamber of the engine, and self-combusted in the combustion chamber.

By the way, foreign matters such as moisture, dust and solid impurities such as rust are mixed in the fuel. In particular, the water in the fuel is divided into dissolved water and free water. Dissolved water is consumed with fuel without stagnation in the fuel path, so there is no particular problem, but free water enters as rainwater during refueling, moisture in the air enters water droplets, This occurs due to precipitation of dissolved water due to a decrease in temperature, etc., and since the specific gravity is larger than that of light oil, it stagnates in the injection pump and rusts and causes sticking. Diesel filters are used to eliminate such harmful effects.

FIG. 9 shows a conventional diesel filter. The diesel filter 1 includes a cup-shaped case 2 that forms an outer shell, and a cap 3 that is detachably attached to an upper open end of the case 2. A fuel supply pipe 4, a fuel discharge pipe (not shown) and a hand pump 5 are attached to the cap 3, and fuel is supplied and discharged through the fuel supply pipe 4 and the fuel discharge pipe, and the separated water in the case 2 is discharged. When discharging, the hand pump 5 is used.

In the case 2, a filter member 9 including a filter medium 6 and a fuel passage 7 depending on the center of the filter medium 6 is accommodated, and a water reservoir chamber 10 is formed below the filter member 9. The water reservoir 10 is a chamber having a function of separating and storing water contained in fuel, and a water level switch unit 11 is provided in the chamber.

The water level switch unit 11 includes a water level switch 12, a support member 13, and a drain cock 14. The fuel introduced into the water storage chamber 10 through the fuel supply pipe 4 and the fuel passage 7 is changed in direction by 180 degrees in the water storage chamber 10, is filtered upward by the filter medium 6, and is discharged from the fuel discharge pipe. However, when the direction is changed in the water reservoir 10, the water is separated. Since water has a higher specific gravity than fuel, it accumulates as separated water 12b in the water reservoir 10. If the separated water 12b is small, there is no problem. However, if the separated water 12b is large, the separated water 12b is sent to the injection pump via the fuel discharge pipe and is stagnated in the injection pump, causing problems such as rusting and sticking, and further from the injector to the combustion chamber. It will be injected into the tank and cause poor combustion. The water level switch 12 is for preventing such an adverse effect, and has a float 12a that also functions as a switch. When the separated water 12b in the water reservoir 10 reaches a predetermined amount, the switch is turned on and attached to the driver's seat. A warning light is lit to alert the driver. The driver opens the drain cock 14 and discharges the separated water 12b.

The support member 13 is a member that supports the water level switch 12, and is inserted into the water reservoir chamber 10 from the bottom of the case 2, and a male screw formed on the outer periphery thereof is fixed to the bottom of the case 2 by means of caulking or the like. It is attached to the bottom of the case 2 by being screwed onto a cylindrical member 15 having an internal thread on the inner periphery (see Patent Document 1).

By the way, the conventional water level switch unit 11 is such that a support member 13 to which the water level switch 12 is attached is screwed into a cylindrical member 15 fixed to the bottom of the case 2, and the screwing is performed at the bottom of the case 2. Performed from the outside. Although the attachment is easy, since the uneven part which rotates the support member 13 is located outside the case 2, for example, there is a possibility that a third party intentionally loosens or removes the support member 13. Yes. Moreover, since it is necessary to attach the cylindrical member 15 to the bottom part of the case 2 by means of caulking or the like, the number of production steps increases accordingly.

Further, when the water level switch unit 11 breaks down and is replaced, or when only the water level switch unit 11 is left and all the others are replaced, if the general user performs the work, the support member 13 is attached at the time of installation after replacement. Insufficient tightening may occur.

Furthermore, since the conventional water level switch unit 11 fixes the cylindrical member 15 to which the support member 13 is screwed to the bottom of the case 2 by means of caulking or the like, the inner surface of the case 2 and the outer surface of the cylindrical member 15 are Since the dead space 16 is formed between them, the separation water 12b cannot be completely discharged when the drain cock 14 is opened.
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 8-291777

An object of the present invention is to prevent a general user or a third party from easily removing the water level switch unit by tightening the water level switch unit in the case, and a cylindrical member that is integrally attached to the bottom of the conventional case in advance. By abolishing the fuel cell, a diesel filter that eliminates dead space at the bottom of the case and facilitates discharge of water, fuel, and the like is provided.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention employs the following configuration.

1 is a cross-sectional view of the main part of the diesel filter (cross-sectional view taken along line BB in FIG. 2), FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along line A-A in FIG. 1, and FIGS. FIG. 5 shows a cross-sectional view of the support member. The diesel filter of the present invention may be used for any fuel system such as automobiles, construction machines, forklifts, and generators, but in the following, those used for automobile fuel systems will be described.

The diesel filter 1 is the same as the conventional one shown in FIG. 9 except for the water level switch unit 20. The diesel filter 1 includes a cup-shaped case 2 that forms an outer shell and a cap 3 that is detachably attached to the upper open end of the case 2. A fuel supply pipe 4, a fuel discharge pipe (not shown) and a hand pump 5 are attached to the cap 3. Fuel is supplied and discharged through the fuel supply pipe 4 and the fuel discharge pipe, and air from the fuel system is extracted. The hand pump 5 is used when discharging the separated water in the case 2.

In the case 2, a filter member 9 including a filter medium 6 and a fuel passage 7 depending on the center of the filter medium 6 is accommodated, and a water reservoir chamber 10 is formed below the filter member 9. The water reservoir 10 is a chamber having a function of separating and storing water contained in the fuel, and a water level switch unit 20 described later is provided therein.

The fuel introduced into the water storage chamber 10 through the fuel supply pipe 4 and the fuel passage 7 is changed in direction by 180 degrees in the water storage chamber 10, is filtered upward by the filter medium 6, and is discharged from the fuel discharge pipe. The water separated in the water reservoir 10 is stored in the water reservoir 10 and is detected by the water level switch 21 when a predetermined amount of water is accumulated.

Next, the water level switch unit 20 of the present invention will be described. The water level switch unit 20 includes a water level switch 21, a support member 30, and a fastening member 50. The water level switch 21 is a float type and has a hollow shaft member 22 and a float 23. The hollow shaft member 22 is an elongated shaft-shaped member having a lower end opening. A stopper 24 is provided at the tip of the hollow shaft member 22, and a switch portion 25 to which a lead wire is connected is provided in the hollow portion.

The float 23 is a central hollow member made of resin, and a ring-shaped magnet 26 is attached to the inside of the hollow portion, and moves up and down along with the float 23 along the shaft member 22. The float 23 moves up and down depending on the amount of separated water in the water reservoir 10, and is set so that the float position indicated by a broken line where the float 23 abuts against the stopper 24 becomes the critical water level of the separated water. That is, when the amount of the separated water in the water reservoir 10 reaches the position of the stopper 24, the magnet 26 attached to the float 23 pulls the movable contact of the switch unit 25 toward the fixed contact, contacts both the contacts, and the warning light on the driver's seat is turned on. Light up. When it is confirmed that the warning lamp is turned on, the driver opens the drain cock 39 provided on the support member 30 and discharges the accumulated separated water. In this case, a hand pump can be used.

The support member 30 is a resin member that supports the water level switch 21 and is inserted into the water reservoir 10 leaving a part from a circular opening 2 a provided on the bottom horizontal surface of the case 2. As shown in FIG. 5, the support member 30 includes a small-diameter circular portion 31, a large circular portion 32, and a thick portion 33.

The small-diameter circular portion 31 is a cylindrical portion on which the water level switch 21 is erected and fixed, and a male screw 34 is formed on the outer peripheral surface thereof. The large circular portion 32 is a flange-shaped cylindrical portion formed concentrically below the small-diameter circular portion 31, and has an annular fitting recess 36 for attaching the sealing material 41 on the annular upper surface thereof. . Further, at the boundary between the upper surface of the large circular portion 32 and the small diameter circular portion 31, that is, in the vicinity of the stepped portion, as shown in FIG. 2, two pieces are opposed to each other in the radial direction orthogonal to the direction shown in FIG. The non-rotating convex portion 35 is formed. As shown in FIG. 2, the two anti-rotation projections 35 are fitted into the anti-rotation recess 2b formed in the opening 2a on the bottom horizontal surface of the case 2, and the support member 30 is formed by the projection 35 and the recess 2b. The detent means is formed. The large circular portion 32 may be provided with a concave portion and the case 2 may be provided with a convex portion.

The thick portion 33 is a substantially cylindrical portion formed below a substantially half portion of the large circular portion 32, and a mounting hole for attaching a drain cock 39 from below to above at a substantially central portion thereof. 37 is formed, and a water discharge passage 38 including a vertical passage 38a and a horizontal passage 38b having a smaller diameter than the attachment hole 37 is formed above the attachment hole 37. The horizontal passage 38b is provided below the male screw 34 formed in the small-diameter circular portion 31 and so as to open to the upper surface of the bottom portion of the case 2 with the support member 30 attached to the case 2. Water or the like at the bottom of the case 2 is discharged through a water discharge space 52 formed on the bottom surface of the fastening member 50 described later.

A female screw 37a for attaching a drain cock 39 is formed in the attachment hole 37 of the thick portion 33, and the drain cock 39 having a sealing material 39a attached to the tip of the attachment hole 37 is screwed into the water hole 37a. The discharge passage 38 is sealed. Further, a bottom recess 40 is provided at the center of the bottom of the support member 30, and the wiring 42 of the water level switch 21 is taken out from the bottom recess 40.

The support member 30 has the water level switch 21 and the small-diameter circular portion 31 inserted into the water reservoir chamber 10, and the upper surface of the large circular portion 32 is brought into contact with the lower surface of the bottom horizontal surface of the case 2 via the sealing material 41. At the time of contact, the two anti-rotation convex portions 35 of the large circular portion 32 are fitted into the anti-rotation concave portion 2 b formed in the opening 2 a on the bottom horizontal surface of the case 2. When the support member 30 is attached, the horizontal passage 38b of the water discharge passage 38 opens on the upper surface of the bottom portion of the case 2.

The fastening member 50 is a cylindrical member made of resin, and a female screw 53 is formed in the vertical direction on the inner peripheral surface thereof. The female screw 53 is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the small-diameter circular portion 31 of the support member 30. The male screw 34 is attached to the support member 30 by being screwed into the case 2 from the inside.

As shown in FIG. 3, a plurality (four in the figure) of arcuate protrusions 51 along the outer periphery are formed at equal intervals on the bottom of the fastening member 50, and between the arcuate protrusions 51. A plurality (four in the figure) of horizontal space portions 52a are formed at equal intervals. Further, between the arcuate protrusion 51 and the female screw 53, there is an annular space 52b that communicates with the horizontal space 52a and has substantially the same height as the horizontal space 52a. A water discharge space 52 is formed with the annular space 52b. When the fastening member 50 is attached to the support member 30, the arcuate protrusion 51 abuts on the upper surface of the bottom of the case 2, and the horizontal space 52 a has a passage between the upper surface of the bottom of the case 2. And communicates with the water discharge passage 38 via the annular space 52b.

The upper portion of the fastening member 50 has a substantially L-shaped cross section, and further, projections 54 for applying a plurality of tightening torques such as four or six are provided radially at equal intervals. In addition, the fastening member 50 is tightened. In addition, the protrusion 54 may be a plurality of recesses such as four or six having concave circular portions instead of the protrusions.

The attachment of the water level switch unit 20 will be described. The water level switch unit 20 is attached before the filter member 9 or the like is attached in the case 2. First, the water level switch 21 is attached to the support member 30, the seal material 41 is fitted to the fitting recess 36 on the upper surface of the large circular portion 32, and the drain cock 39 is attached. Then, the support member 30 is inserted from the opening 2 a on the bottom horizontal surface of the case 2 in a form in which the anti-rotation convex portion 35 is fitted into the anti-rotation concave portion 2 b, and the sealing material 41 on the upper surface of the large circular portion 32 is inserted into the case 2. It contacts the lower surface of the bottom horizontal plane.

Next, the fastening member 50 is attached from within the case 2. For the attachment, a female screw 53 formed on the inner peripheral surface of the fastening member 50 is screwed onto a male screw 34 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the small-diameter circular portion 31 of the support member 30, and the outer peripheral surface of the fastening member 50 is thereby engaged. This is done by rotating the projection 54 to be formed. After screwing, the case 2 around the opening 2a is sandwiched between the bottom surface of the arcuate protrusion 51 of the fastening member 50 and the top surface of the large circular portion 32 of the support member 30. By attaching in such a form, a conventional dead space is not formed at the bottom of the case 2.

After the screwing, the horizontal space portion 52a and the annular space portion 52b formed on the bottom surface of the fastening member 50 communicate with the water discharge passage 38 including the vertical passage 38a and the horizontal passage 38b of the support member 30. Then, the sealing material 41 is brought into liquid-tight contact with the lower surface of the bottom horizontal surface of the case 2 so that the water in the water reservoir 10 is placed between the lower surface of the bottom horizontal surface of the case 2 and the upper surface of the large circular portion 32 of the support member 30. Prevent leakage from. As a result, for example, even if a third party or a general user tries to remove the water level switch unit 20 from the outside, the support member 30 can be loosened because the anti-rotation convex portion 35 is fitted to the anti-rotation concave portion 2b. It can no longer be removed.

FIG. 6 shows a second embodiment. The thing of this example changes the attachment form of case 2 and the water level switch unit 20, and the shape of the bottom part of case 2, the shape of the large circular part 32 of the supporting member 30, etc. differ. Although the difference from the first embodiment will be mainly described, the other parts are the same as those of the first embodiment, and the description thereof will be omitted.

First, the bottom portion of the case 2 extends downward from a portion corresponding to the opening 2a of the first embodiment to form a cylindrical portion 60 having a hollow opening 60a. The large circular portion 32 of the support member 30 is fitted. Further, two anti-rotation recesses 61 corresponding to the anti-rotation recess 2b of the first embodiment are formed at the lower end portion of the cylindrical portion 60 so as to face each other in the radial direction. In addition, although this rotation prevention recessed part 61 is formed in the position shifted | deviated 90 degree | times compared with the rotation prevention recessed part 2b of Example 1, it may be the same as the position of Example 1. FIG.

The large circular portion 32 is a flange-shaped cylindrical portion formed concentrically below the small-diameter circular portion 31. The height of the large circular portion 32 is higher than that of the first embodiment, and the sealing material 62 is provided on the outer peripheral surface thereof. It has an annular fitting recess 63 for mounting. In addition, on the outer periphery of the lower end portion of the large circular portion 32, two anti-rotation convex portions 64 are formed so as to oppose each other in the radial direction. The two anti-rotation convex portions 64 are fitted into the anti-rotation concave portion 61 formed at the lower end portion of the cylindrical portion 60 at the bottom of the case 2 to form the anti-rotation means of the support member 30. The large circular portion 32 may be provided with a concave portion and the case 2 may be provided with a convex portion. The thick portion 33 and the fastening member 50 are the same as those in the first embodiment.

The attachment of the water level switch unit 20 will be described. The water level switch unit 20 is attached before the filter member 9 or the like is attached in the case 2. First, the water level switch 21 is attached to the support member 30, the seal material 62 is fitted to the fitting recess 63 on the outer peripheral surface of the large circular portion 32, and the drain cock 39 is attached. Then, the support member 30 is inserted from the opening 60 a at the bottom of the case 2, and the sealing material 62 on the outer peripheral surface of the large circular portion 32 is brought into contact with the inner surface of the cylindrical portion 60 of the case 2, and rotates at the end of insertion. The detent projection 64 is fitted into the detent recess 61.

After the screwing, the bottom surface of the arc-shaped protruding portion 51 of the fastening member 50 is attached in such a manner that the bottom portion of the case 2 is pushed down, and the rotation prevention convex portion 64 of the large circular portion 32 pushes up the rotation prevention concave portion 61 of the case 2.

After the screwing, the horizontal space portion 52a and the annular space portion 52b formed on the bottom surface of the fastening member 50 communicate with the water discharge passage 38 including the vertical passage 38a and the horizontal passage 38b of the support member 30. Then, the sealing material 62 is brought into liquid-tight contact with the inner surface of the cylindrical portion 60 of the case 2, thereby preventing water or the like in the water storage chamber 10 from leaking between the case 2 and the support member 30. In other words, the same effects as those of the first embodiment can be obtained in this example.

FIG. 7 shows a modification thereof. In this example, the fastening member 50 is not fixed by screw fastening, but is fixed by welding. By adopting such a configuration, the production cost can be reduced and the water level switch unit 20 can be easily attached. Instead of welding, it may be fixed by snap fit, caulking or the like.

FIG. 8 shows a third embodiment. In this example, the shape of the bottom of the case 2 is different. Although the difference from the first embodiment will be mainly described, the other parts are the same as those of the first embodiment, and the description thereof will be omitted.

That is, the bottom portion of the case 2 is a curved inclined surface 70 up to the vicinity of the entrance of the water discharge space 52 of the fastening member 50. By making the bottom portion of the case 2 have such a curved surface shape, water or the like in the water reservoir 10 can be discharged almost completely. The shape of the bottom portion may be not only a curved line but also a linear inclined surface as indicated by a broken line.

The invention of the present application is not limited to the configuration of the above-described embodiment, and the design can be appropriately changed without departing from the gist of the invention. For example, the diesel filter has a fuel that enters the reservoir chamber from the central fuel passage. Although described as being introduced, a side flow type in which the fuel is introduced from between the case and the filter medium may be used.
