After some time has elapsed after sampling, the sampling vial is detached. For this reason, in the past, particularly expensive dedicated devices have been used. Desorption of the sampling vial is performed by heating the sampling vial. As a result, the substance present in the adsorbent or the solid substance contained in the sampling vial is vaporized and released. By blowing carrier gas from the sampling vial during heating, the free material is entrained in the carrier gas, for example, temporarily collected in a cold trap, and then sent from the cold trap to the gas chromatograph where it is released. Can be analyzed. Therefore, the known desorption apparatus includes a carrier gas supply unit, a heating unit, a cold trap, a control unit for controlling the heating unit, and the like. As a result, the known desorption device has a considerable price on the order of tens of thousands of guilders.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The present invention contemplates a fairly low cost and entirely new type of assembly while making the sampling vial removable. The present invention is essentially based on the insight that a gas chromatograph is necessary anyway, but that the gas chromatograph essentially has all the means used in known desorption devices. With this assembly, these means already present in the gas chromatograph are made available for detaching the sampling vial.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
Therefore, the present invention relates to an assembly for detaching a sampling vial, the assembly comprising a gas chromatograph known per se with an injector, the sampling vial comprising an inlet and an outlet, the assembly comprising: An adapter installed in the injector and having a chamber defined by a heat transfer housing, the adapter configured to install one sampling vial in the chamber, wherein one sampling vial is in the adapter The sampling vial inlet is in fluid communication with the first carrier gas supply line, and the sampling vial outlet is in fluid communication with the gas chromatography column located in the gas chromatograph via an injector. An assembly is provided.
[0008]
Because of the heat-conducting housing of the adapter that defines the chamber in which the sampling vial can be installed, the sampling vial installed in the chamber can be heated by heating means located in a known injector of a known gas chromatograph . Furthermore, the sampling vial inlet is in fluid communication with the first carrier gas supply line, and the sampling vial outlet is in fluid communication with the gas chromatography column contained in the gas chromatograph via an injector. Substances in the sampling vial that are liberated due to the effect of tube heating flow out with the carrier gas and can be analyzed in a gas chromatography column. Known gas chromatographs have a quantitative control that can accurately set the heating means of the injector, so the temperature of the sampling vial installed in the adapter chamber can be accurately controlled, so that any particular temperature of the sampling vial can be controlled. The progress can be realized very accurately. Thus, for example, the lighter fraction contained in the sampling vial can be released by first heating the sampling vial to, for example, 50 ° C. for a period of time, and then the heavier fraction by heating the sampling vial to, for example, 150 ° C. to 250 ° C. Can be released.
[0009]
According to further details, the adapter comprises a heat conducting tube connected to the heat conducting housing to exchange heat with each other, but it is particularly preferred that the adapter tube reaches the injector chamber when the adapter is installed. . As the tube reaches the injector chamber, heat transfer from the injector heating means occurs much more effectively in that the adapter tube is directly surrounded by the injector heating means.
[0010]
According to further details of the invention, the sampling vial may have a vial shape known per se. According to a further detail of the invention, the assembly comprises an autosampler known per se, the autosampler comprising a set-up shelf allowing the installation of a number of vial-shaped sampling vials, and an autosampler manipulator However, it is preferably configured to pick one sampling vial from the setup shelf and place that sampling vial in the adapter.
[0011]
Such an apparatus allows a large number of sampling vials to be attached and detached without the intervention of laboratory personnel. The automatic sampler is used to eject a liquid sample in a vial from the vial into an injector. The autosampler manipulator moves the vial from the set-up shelf to the location actually instructed by the term turret, and an automatically operable jet from it draws the sample from the vial and places the sample in the gas chromatograph injector. Inject. Since the sampling vial has the same shape as a vial known per se, existing automatic samplers can often be used to retrofit the gas chromatograph to a sampling vial desorber.
[0012]
The invention also relates to an adapter that is explicitly intended for use in an assembly according to the invention. Furthermore, the invention also relates to a sampling vial that is explicitly intended for use in an assembly according to the invention.
[0013]
Furthermore, the present invention comprises a gas chromatograph injector comprising at least one adapter according to the present invention and a support for mounting the autosampler on the gas chromatograph without the need for adjusting the control of the autosampler. It also relates to a kit of parts that configure the support so that the autosampler can place the sampling vial on the adapter installed in At this time, the kit preferably includes various carrier gas lines, at least one T-joint, and a valve assembly.
