Description
The present invention relates to a temperature sensor including a thermistor element, and more particularly to a temperature sensor used for detecting a temperature over a wide range from a middle temperature range around 200 ° C. to a high temperature range around 1000 ° C.
Conventionally, as a temperature sensor, a thermistor element is accommodated in a stainless steel alloy tube or cap, and a sheath core wire extending from the thermistor element is wrapped in the tube or stainless steel alloy sheath. This temperature sensor is used, for example, to detect the temperature over a wide range of about 200 to 1000 ° C. in order to detect the exhaust temperature of an automobile or the like.
As this type of temperature sensor, for example, in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 5-264368, a tube or cap containing a thermistor element, that is, a cement containing MgO or Al 2 O 3 is filled around the thermistor element. Are disclosed. Alternatively, there is also a type in which MgO or Al 2 O 3 is used as an aggregate and cement is added thereto with a glass component made of an alkali metal such as SiO 2 , Na 2 O, or K 2 O as a hardener. This type of cement is mainly filled to protect the thermistor element from vibration.
Similarly, as this type of temperature sensor, for example, in JP-A-3-42801 and JP-A-5-275206, a tube or sheath containing a sheath core wire is provided with MgO powder or the like as a filler. Is disclosed. This type of filler is provided mainly to ensure insulation of the sheath core wire.
However, in the former temperature sensor, the cement filled around the thermistor element is composed of MgO, Al 2 O 3 or the like, or a glass component made of an alkali metal is added to them as a hardener, and moisture absorption It had a sex. On the other hand, in the latter temperature sensor, the MgO powder used as a filler for the tube or sheath is also hygroscopic. For this reason, when the cement or the sheath filler absorbs moisture during the manufacturing process of the temperature sensor or during the standing period after completion, the insulation resistance of the cement or the sheath filler may be reduced, and the detection characteristics of the temperature sensor may be deteriorated.
Here, a temperature sensor used to detect the exhaust temperature of the automobile may be used, for example, to detect only a high temperature around 1000 ° C. for alarming the catalyst temperature. In this case, the water absorbed in the cement or sheath filler is almost evaporated, there is no decrease in insulation resistance, and the detection characteristics of the temperature sensor are not adversely affected. Also, even if the insulation resistance is reduced due to moisture remaining in the cement or sheath filler, if the output resistance of the thermistor element, that is, the output resistance value of the temperature sensor is smaller than the insulation resistance value, the detection of the temperature sensor There seems to be no adverse effect on the characteristics.
However, when the temperature sensor is used to detect the temperature over a wide range of about 200 to 1000 ° C., it is necessary to increase the inclination of the output resistance of the temperature sensor with respect to the temperature in order to ensure the detection accuracy of the temperature sensor. is there. In this case, the output resistance of the temperature sensor in the middle temperature range around 200 ° C. must be set to a relatively high value of about 100 to 200 kΩ. Even if the cement or sheath filler absorbs moisture to such an extent that it does not cause a problem at room temperature, the moisture absorbed in the medium temperature range evaporates, and the insulation resistance of the cement or sheath filler May be temporarily reduced. Since such an insulation resistance works in parallel with the resistance of the thermistor element, there is a risk of affecting the original detection characteristics of the temperature sensor.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide a temperature sensor that can suppress a decrease in detection accuracy due to a decrease in insulation resistance in an intermediate temperature range.
For this purpose, in a temperature sensor in which a thermistor element and a core wire extending from the thermistor element are surrounded by a metal surrounding member and at least a part of the periphery of the thermistor element is filled with cement, the cement contains Al 2 O 3 or SiO 2 . The temperature sensor includes an aggregate as a main component and a glass component, and the Na 2 O equivalent of the Na component contained in the glass component is 0.05 to 0.3% by weight with respect to the total weight of the cement. It is also preferable.
If it does in this way, Na which is an alkali metal element will be contained in the glass component added to an aggregate in order to comprise cement. This Na is an indispensable component for cement hardening, but has a property of reducing the insulating properties of cement because of its hygroscopic property. However, according to the above structure, since the terms of Na 2 O of Na component contained in the glass component, a relatively small amount as 0.05 to 0.3 wt% based on the total weight cement, Na The hygroscopicity of the cement is suppressed without impairing the hardening of the cement.
To achieve the above object, a first aspect of the present invention, the core wire extending from thermistors element while surrounded by a metal sheath, the site and the thermistor element of the thermistor element side of the sheath, the distal end A metal tube or cap closed on the side is enclosed, and at least a part of the periphery of the core wire is filled in the sheath, and at least one of the periphery of the thermistor element in the metal tube or cap closed on the distal end side. In the temperature sensor formed by filling cement in a part, the filler includes SiO 2 as a main component, and the cement includes an aggregate mainly including Al 2 O 3 or SiO 2 and a glass component. The purpose is to do.
According to the configuration of the present invention , the filler filled in the sheath contains SiO 2 as a main component, and therefore, the hygroscopicity of the filler is relatively lowered as compared with the case where MgO is the main component, for example.
To further achieve the above object, the core wire extending from thermistors element while surrounded by a metal sheath, the site and the thermistor element of the thermistor element side of the sheath, surrounded by a metal tube or cap, the In a temperature sensor in which at least a part of the periphery of the core wire is filled in a sheath and at least a part of the periphery of the thermistor element is filled in the metal tube or cap, a glass component of the cement is provided. The amount of Na contained in the Na component in terms of Na 2 O is 0.05 to 0.3% by weight with respect to the total weight of the cement, and the filler is preferably composed mainly of SiO 2 .
That is, in the temperature sensor according to
According to the configuration of the invention, the Na 2 O equivalent amount of the Na component contained in the glass component added to the aggregate to constitute the cement is 0.05 to 0.3 wt. Therefore, the hygroscopicity of the cement can be suppressed without impairing the hardening of the cement by Na which is an alkali metal element. In addition, since the filler mainly contains SiO 2 , for example, the hygroscopicity of the filler is relatively lowered as compared with the case where MgO is the main ingredient.
Furthermore, the insulation resistance value comprised of cement and filler between the terminal of the core wire and the surrounding member is set to a value more than twice the output resistance value of the thermistor element at the lowest temperature detected by the temperature sensor. A temperature sensor is preferred.
At the lowest temperature detected by the temperature sensor, the insulation resistance composed of cement and filler between the core wire and the surrounding member works in parallel with the output resistance of the thermistor element, and the insulation resistance value decreases. As a result, the output resistance value of the thermistor element is reduced. It has been found that this adverse effect is caused by the fact that the insulation resistance value composed of cement and filler becomes smaller than twice the output resistance value of the thermistor element.
Therefore, according to the configuration of the invention, the insulation resistance value is set to a value that is twice or more the output resistance value of the thermistor element at the lowest temperature detected by the temperature sensor. Is not substantially reduced. This can be achieved, for example, by specifying the composition of at least one of cement and filler to reduce the hygroscopicity of the cement or filler as in the invention of
Furthermore, the thermistor element and the core wire extending from the thermistor element are surrounded by a metal surrounding member, and at least part of the periphery of the thermistor element is filled with cement, and at least part of the periphery of the core wire is provided with a filler. In the temperature sensor used for detecting the above temperature, the thermistor element at the lowest temperature detected by the temperature sensor is used as the insulation resistance value composed of cement and filler between the terminal of the core wire and the surrounding member. Preferably, the temperature sensor is set to a value that is at least twice as large as the output resistance value.
At the lowest temperature detected by a temperature sensor used to detect a temperature of 200 ° C. or higher, the insulation resistance composed of cement and filler between the core wire and the surrounding member is relative to the output resistance of the thermistor element. By acting in parallel and lowering the insulation resistance value, there is an adverse effect that the output resistance value of the thermistor element is reduced. It has been found that this adverse effect is caused by the fact that the insulation resistance value composed of cement and filler becomes smaller than twice the output resistance value of the thermistor element.
Therefore, according to the above, since the insulation resistance value is set to a value more than twice the output resistance value of the thermistor element at the lowest temperature detected by the temperature sensor, the output resistance value of the thermistor element is There is virtually no decline. This is achieved, for example, by specifying at least one of cement and filler with a composition having low hygroscopicity, or specifying the material, thickness, shape, and the like of the surrounding member.
According to the configuration of the first aspect of the present invention, for example, the hygroscopicity of the filler is relatively lowered as compared with the case where MgO is the main component. For this reason, the fall of the insulation resistance by moisture absorption can be suppressed in a middle temperature range, and the fall of the detection accuracy as a temperature sensor can be suppressed.
According to the configuration of the invention described in
[First Embodiment]
Hereinafter, a first embodiment of a temperature sensor according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

Table 3 shows the test results for the heat insulation of the cement and the sheath filler for each of the temperature sensors of Example 1, Reference Example, and Example 3 (shown in Tables 1 and 2). And a comparison with that of the sheath filler (made of MgO powder). Here, the cement and the sheath filler of Example 3 are the same as the
As apparent from Table 3, the temperature sensor of the conventional example in which a combination of a cement comprising a sheath filler consisting MgO powder, 0.49 wt% of terms of Na 2 O of Na component based on the total weight It can be seen that the heating insulation resistance value is the smallest. In Example 1 in which only the sheath filler is replaced with SiO 2 powder in the configuration of this conventional example, it can be seen that the heating insulation resistance value increased by about 2 to 3.5 times. On the other hand, in Reference Example was replaced with those containing Na component only 0.17 wt% of terms of Na 2 O weight relative to the total weight cement of conventional configuration, the heating insulation resistance is about 2.5 It can be seen that it has increased by a factor of 3.5. Furthermore, in Example 3 (this embodiment) configured by combining a sheath filler made of SiO 2 powder and a cement containing Na component in an amount of Na 2 O equivalent to 0.17% by weight with respect to the total weight. The heating insulation resistance value of the temperature sensor increased by orders of magnitude (about 8 to 17 times) compared to the minimum value of that of the conventional example.
The graph of FIG. 3 shows the correlation between the 300 ° C. heating insulation resistance value and the output resistance value of the
As is apparent from this graph, when the 300 ° C. heating insulation resistance value is low, that is, when the cement and the sheath filler cause insulation deterioration due to moisture absorption, these insulation resistances work in parallel to the output resistance. It can be seen that the output resistance value decreases. It can be seen that the output resistance value at 300 ° C. becomes constant when the heating insulation resistance value at 300 ° C. is about 300 kΩ or more and is not affected by the change in the heating insulation resistance value.
By the way, in this embodiment, as shown in Table 3 and FIG. 3, by setting the Na 2 O conversion amount of the Na component contained in the
That is, as described above, when the heating insulation resistance value at 300 ° C. becomes about 300 kΩ or more, the output resistance value of the
As described above, in the
In addition, according to the
