Description
The present invention relates to a fuel cell system in which a part of a reaction fuel gas from a solid oxide fuel cell is drawn by the action of a recycle blower, mixed with raw fuel gas, and supplied to the solid oxide fuel cell.
Conventionally, a fuel cell system using a solid oxide fuel cell is known. In this solid oxide fuel cell, a fuel electrode and an air electrode each having a function of oxidizing and reducing fuel gas and oxygen in the air are disposed on both sides of a solid electrolyte that conducts oxide ions. As a material for the solid electrolyte, zirconia doped with yttria is generally used, and hydrogen, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and oxidant gas (general) contained in the fuel gas at a high temperature of 700 to 1000 ° C. In general, the fuel cell power generation reaction is performed by electrochemical reaction with oxygen in the air.
As applications of solid oxide fuel cells, in addition to distributed power sources and cogeneration installed in buildings and factories of about several tens of kW to several MW, large power plant fields of 10 MW to several hundred MW are assumed. In recent years, development has also been made as a small cogeneration system of about 1 kW to 10 kW. In such a small cogeneration system, cost reduction including peripheral devices becomes an issue, and a fuel cell protection function used in a large system cannot be used as it is.
Since the operating temperature of the solid oxide fuel cell is high as described above, a fuel for protecting the fuel cell by stably cooling the solid oxide fuel cell when an abnormality occurs in the system. A battery protection function is provided. In a large fuel cell system, the supply of raw fuel gas is cut off when an abnormality occurs, and a mixed gas of hydrogen and nitrogen is supplied from a separately prepared gas cylinder, and a solid oxide fuel cell is operated using this mixed gas. (For example, refer nonpatent literature 1).
Further, in a fuel cell system using a hydrocarbon-based material such as hydrocarbon or alcohol as fuel, steam is required for fuel reforming. For example, when methane gas is used as a fuel, a reforming reaction represented by the following chemical formula (1) is performed.
CH 4 + H 2 O → 3H 2 + CO (1)
In order to perform this reforming reaction, a steam generator, a water tank, a water purifier, a condensate separator for separating water in the fuel cell exhaust, and the like are required, and the configuration of the fuel cell system becomes complicated. At the same time, the entire system becomes larger. In addition, when using water vapor from a water vapor generator, ion exchange water must be supplied to the water vapor generator, and in addition to complicating the configuration of the device itself, the ion exchange resin must be regularly maintained. In addition, this maintenance cost also occurs. In the case of a small fuel cell system of about 1 kW to 10 kW, it is desirable to reduce the maintenance cost as much as possible in order to ensure economic efficiency during system operation.
For this reason, it is known that in the solid oxide fuel cell system, fuel recycling is used to reform hydrocarbon fuels as a technology that eliminates the need for a steam generator for fuel reforming. (For example, refer nonpatent literature 2).
The fuel recycling is to return a part of the reaction fuel gas after the fuel cell reaction in the fuel cell to the fuel gas supply side of the fuel cell. In the solid oxide fuel cell, one of the reaction fuel gases is returned. By recycling the part, the water vapor contained in the reaction fuel gas after the fuel cell reaction can be used as the water vapor necessary for the steam reforming reaction of the hydrocarbon-based fuel, thereby supplying water vapor Therefore, an apparatus such as a steam generator is not required. Therefore, an increase in the size of the entire system can be avoided, and maintenance costs related to the ion exchange resin are not required.
As a method for recycling a portion of the reacted fuel gas, an ejector system, there is a recycling Bro A method. The ejector system is a system that uses an ejector to recycle a part of the reaction fuel gas. The fuel is pressurized and ejected by the ejector to generate a negative pressure, and the generated negative pressure is used to react the fuel. The gas is sucked and has an advantage of high reliability. However, in a small solid oxide fuel cell system of about 1 kW to 10 kW, since the raw fuel gas flow rate is small, a necessary recycle gas flow rate can be obtained even if the diameter of the ejector is reduced (for example, about 0.5 mm or less). I can't. Further, since there is no margin in the suction capacity of the ejector, the necessary flow rate of the recycle gas cannot be obtained when performing partial load operation for generating power by reducing the output from the rated output. For this reason, it is difficult to adopt the ejector method in a small fuel cell system.
The recycle blower method uses a recycle blower to recycle a part of the reaction fuel gas. The recycle blower is driven to move a part of the reaction fuel gas to the supply side of the solid oxide fuel cell. It is what you send in. In this system, since the reaction fuel gas is driven by an electric fan, unlike the ejector system, there is an advantage that it is not affected by the flow rate of the recycled gas, and it can be employed in a small system. However, since recycling Bro A is for sending the high-temperature reaction fuel gas supply side of the solid oxide fuel cell, it will be recycled blower itself movable at high temperature, the electric fan when compared to the ejector system The failure rate of parts such as Further, when the solid oxide fuel cell failure has occurred fuel recycled during operation to recycle Bro A is stopped, the water vapor will not is supplied to the fuel electrode side of the solid oxide fuel cell, a hydrocarbon-based in this state When this raw fuel gas is supplied to the fuel electrode side, there is a problem that carbon is deposited on the fuel electrode of the solid oxide fuel cell and cell performance is lowered.
In a small fuel cell system, it is effective to employ a fuel recycling method that eliminates the need for a steam generator or the like. However, an ejector system in the fuel recycling method, since it is difficult to apply to small-sized fuel cell system as described above, is considered method using recycled Bro A. This method has an advantage that it is not affected by the flow rate of the recycle gas, and can be provided to a small fuel cell system. However, when it is applied, the following problems occur. That is, in order to recycle blower itself is used in a high temperature environment that reacted fuel gas, there is a problem that failure rate of components such as the electric fan increases, also recycled Bro A during operation of the solid oxide fuel cell When the fuel cell is stopped and fuel recycling is stopped, water vapor is not supplied to the fuel electrode side of the solid oxide fuel cell. When hydrocarbon-based raw fuel gas is supplied in this state, the solid oxide fuel cell In order to prevent the cell performance from deteriorating due to the deposition of carbon on the fuel electrode, reducing gas (for example, carbon monoxide, hydrogen) is present on the fuel electrode side. It is necessary to supply air to the air electrode side.
An object of the present invention is to avoid the complication of the configuration of the fuel cell system, to suppress the operating cost of the system and to stably supply the generated current, and to cause a problem in a part of the system. Sometimes, it is to provide a fuel cell system capable of shifting to a dormant state without reducing the power generation performance of the fuel cell.

In the fuel cell system according to claim 1 of the present invention, a solid oxide fuel cell that performs fuel cell power generation using raw fuel gas, and a main fuel gas for supplying raw fuel gas to the solid oxide fuel cell. A fuel gas supply channel and a sub fuel gas supply channel, a reaction fuel gas discharge channel for discharging a reaction fuel gas after performing a fuel cell power generation reaction in the solid oxide fuel cell, and the fuel said main fuel gas feed stream Michimata a portion of the reaction the fuel gas after the cell power generation reaction and recycling passage for returning to the solid oxide fuel cell, recycle blower disposed in the recycle flow path And a partial oxidation reactor disposed in the auxiliary fuel gas supply flow path,
During normal operation, raw fuel gas is supplied to the solid oxide fuel cell through the main fuel gas supply channel, and a part of the reaction fuel gas from the solid oxide fuel cell is supplied to the recycle blower. When the operation of the recycle blower is stopped, the raw fuel gas is supplied to the partial oxidation reactor through the auxiliary fuel gas supply flow path, and the partial reaction fuel gas partially reacted in the partial oxidation reactor is supplied to the solid fuel gas. It is supplied to an oxide fuel cell.
In the fuel cell system according to
According to the fuel cell system described in claim 1 of the present invention, the main fuel gas supply channel and the auxiliary fuel gas supply channel for supplying the raw fuel gas to the solid oxide fuel cell are provided. When the recycle blower operates normally and a part of the reaction fuel gas from the solid oxide fuel cell is recycled, the raw fuel gas is supplied through the main fuel gas supply flow path. When the operation of the blower is stopped, since the reaction fuel gas is not recycled, the raw fuel gas is supplied through the auxiliary fuel gas supply passage in which the partial oxidation reactor is disposed. When recycling Bro A is stopped, although the water vapor required for the reforming reaction of the raw fuel gas is not supplied, the raw fuel gas is supplied through the secondary fuel gas delivery channel, the raw fuel gas at partial oxidation reactor As a result of the combustion reaction, a reducing gas containing hydrogen and water are generated, and the gas containing the reducing gas and water is supplied to the solid oxide fuel cell. Carbon deposition can be suppressed.
The partial oxidation reactor is less time it takes to boot, since the occurrence of reducing gas and water can be performed in a short time, when detecting the failure of recycling Bro A is the raw fuel gas partial oxidation reaction The reducing gas can be generated immediately upon delivery to the reactor, thereby protecting the solid oxide fuel cell from carbon deposition. For this partial oxidation reactor, for example, it is desirable to use a catalyst containing ruthenium, and carbon deposition is unlikely to occur on the catalyst containing ruthenium. The fuel cell can also be deposited by using this ruthenium containing catalyst. Can be protected from. Furthermore, since the partial oxidation reactor has a simple apparatus configuration, the entire system can be simplified.
Further, according to the fuel cell system described in
Carbon deposition at the anode is likely to occur when the operating temperature of the solid oxide fuel cell is high, but the power generation performance of the solid oxide fuel cell is high at the rated operating temperature level of the solid oxide fuel cell (in other words, Then, since the internal resistance of the fuel cell is low), the generated current value of the solid oxide fuel cell is large, and the amount of water vapor generated increases, so that the effect of suppressing carbon deposition is enhanced. On the other hand, when the operating temperature of the solid oxide fuel cell becomes lower, the internal resistance of the solid oxide fuel cell becomes higher than the characteristics at the temperature at which the rated operating operation is performed. However, although the amount of current decreases and the amount of water vapor generated decreases, carbon deposition is less likely to occur due to a decrease in operating temperature. Therefore, it is possible to prevent deterioration of the solid oxide fuel cell due to excessive power generation with respect to the raw fuel gas flow rate.
Thus, the higher the operating temperature, the greater the amount of water vapor generated from the solid oxide fuel cell, and when the temperature decreases, the responsiveness that the generated current decreases with it is shown. The higher the value, the easier it is to suppress carbon deposition, and even when the operating temperature drops, excessive power generation occurs and the solid oxide fuel cell does not deteriorate. Can be made.
Hereinafter, the best embodiment of a fuel cell system for carrying out the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 is a system block diagram schematically illustrating a fuel cell system according to an embodiment, FIG. 2 is a block diagram schematically illustrating a control system of the fuel cell system of FIG. 1, and FIG.

In this
The fuel gas supply flow path 5 branches and is connected to the introduction portion on the fuel electrode side of the solid

In this embodiment, the discharge portion on the fuel electrode side of the solid

The
The solid
If a malfunction occurs in the
When the operation of the
Since the output side of the solid
When the
As a comparative example, the solid
In the fuel cell system for generating electricity in a solid oxide fuel cell the natural gas or the like as a raw fuel gas, a recycle bromide A, when recycling Bro A is stopped, reducing through the raw fuel gas to the partial oxidation reactor Carbon dioxide is deposited on the fuel electrode by supplying a partially oxidized gas containing gas to the solid oxide fuel cell and switching the generated power of the solid oxide fuel cell from an external load to a fixed resistor. Therefore, the fuel cell system can be stopped and can be effectively used as a technique for stably stopping the solid oxide fuel cell. In addition, since the fuel cell system can be stopped without complicating the configuration of the apparatus for stably stopping the system, the entire system can be reduced in size, and the equipment cost of the system can be reduced.
