Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Currently, the body side wall of the metal can with resin coating on the inner surface, which is widely used in various beverages such as beer, sparkling liquor, juice, green tea, tea, coffee, mineral water, etc., has an appearance design. In order to improve, an uneven pattern is formed. According to the present invention, in this processing, the resin coat on the inner surface of the can is not damaged and a pattern for forming a sharp pattern is formed on the side wall of the metal can body using the mold. Regarding the method.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Currently, metal cans are widely used as small containers for beverages such as beer and soft drinks. As a result, the competition for product differentiation is fierce, and it is necessary to improve the design in order to secure an aesthetic superiority in appearance, and the pattern is also required to be sharp.
[0003]
The most common metal can for beverages is a two-piece can consisting of two parts, a can body and a cover plate, the can body having an opening on one side and a cylindrical shape having a dome-shaped bottom on the other. It is a cylindrical body. These 2-piece can bodies are made of a cylindrical cylindrical body with a bottom having a bottom by drawing and ironing a metal disk.
Metal cans are being made thinner for the purpose of reducing costs, which is a requirement of the market, and the barrel side walls are formed extremely thin by drawing and ironing. In the subsequent process, in order to give the can a design property on the appearance, it is often performed to form a concavo-convex pattern on the barrel side wall.
[0004]
The metal mold for forming the concavo-convex pattern on the side wall of this metal can is usually set by setting an inner mold having a flat portion on the top of a convex portion engraved on the outer surface and an outer mold for press contact from the outside. In order to sharpen the concavo-convex pattern formed on the bottomed cylindrical barrel side wall, the edge portion of the inner top flat portion is usually used as It has been thought necessary to sharpen. However, the inner surface of metal cans is usually coated with a thermosetting synthetic resin to prevent metal corrosion, elution and change in the taste of the beverage content, and this resin-coated surface is poor in elasticity and toughness. If an uneven pattern is formed on the side wall of the metal can body using an inner mold with a sharp corner edge, the resin coating surface may crack or the paint may peel off in extreme cases A problem occurred. On the other hand, when an inner mold having a curved edge at the corner edge of the convex portion is used, cracking can be prevented, but the pattern obtained by embossing is not sharp and has little effect on improving design. The phenomenon that occurred.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the present invention, when forming an uneven pattern on the barrel side wall of a bottomed cylindrical metal can, a metal that can form an uneven pattern sharply without causing cracks or peeling on the resin coated surface of the inner surface of the metal can. An object of the present invention is to provide a mold and a method for forming a pattern on the side wall of a metal can body using the mold.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention
[1] A bottomed cylindrical metal can body side wall formed by drawing and ironing a metal plate is sandwiched between an inner mold with an uneven pattern engraved on the outer surface and an outer mold of the elastic body. In the mold for forming a pattern on the side wall of the metal can body by pressing the elastic outer die from the tip, the tip of the convex portion carved in the inner die has an R shape with a radius of 0.2 to 1.0 mmφ A mold for forming a pattern on the side wall of the metal can body,
[0008]
[2] The mold for forming a pattern on the side wall of the metal can body, wherein the radius of the tip of the convex portion is an R shape having a diameter of 0.3 to 0.8 mmφ in claim 1;
[3] An inner mold having an R shape with a radius of 0.2 to 1.0 mmφ at the tip of the convex portion engraved on the outer surface in order to form an uneven pattern on the side wall of the bottomed cylindrical metal can body A pattern is formed on the side wall of the metal can body by using an elastic body outer mold and forming a pattern on the side wall of the metal can body by pressing the elastic body from the outside against the inner mold across the side wall of the metal can body By developing a method of forming, and [4] a method of forming a pattern on the side wall of the metal can body portion according to [3], wherein the inner side of the bottomed cylindrical metal can body portion is resin-coated. Solved the problem.
[0009]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In the present invention, the metal can is a so-called 2-piece can, and the concave and convex pattern is formed on the bottomed cylindrical body side wall, and the upper part thereof is open. After forming an uneven pattern on the body side wall, the upper opening is squeezed into a predetermined shape and a lid plate is attached to form a metal can. The material is mainly an aluminum can, and the present invention can be applied to a steel can.
The metal cans are mainly supplied for various beverages such as beer, sparkling liquor, juice, green tea, tea, coffee, mineral water, etc. In order to insist on uniqueness in design, a metal can is provided with a concavo-convex pattern.
[0010]
Therefore, the sharpness of the concavo-convex pattern formed on the metal can has been required, but when using an inner mold with a sharp corner edge part with a flat part on the top of the convex part carved on the outer surface The resin surface coated on the inner surface of the metal can is cracked or peeled off, and its quality has been required to be improved. Moreover, the sharper the top edge part, the more the edge part of the concavo-convex pattern formed on the bottomed cylindrical body side wall looks like two light lines, and the sharpness of the concave part pattern becomes unclear, The risk of damaging the resin coat on the upper inner surface increased, which was not preferable.
[0011]
In the present invention, the top flat portion of the convex portion of the inner mold is eliminated, and the tip of the convex portion has an R shape with a radius of 0.2 to 1.0 mmφ. This effectively prevents damage to the resin coat on the inner surface of the metal can. Furthermore, the tip of the concavo-convex pattern on the bottomed cylindrical body side wall becomes a sharp single line, and the concavo-convex pattern becomes sharp. The present invention has been completed. However, when R is less than 0.2 mm, the resin coat is easily damaged (ERV increases), and when R exceeds 1.0 mm, the formed uneven pattern is not sharp. There is.
This R is preferably in the range of 0.3 to 0.8 mm, more preferably in the range of 0.4 to 0.7 mm.
[0012]
As a mold used to form a concavo-convex pattern on the bottomed cylindrical body side wall, a mold including an inner mold and an outer mold is used. This will be described below with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view showing the positional relationship between the inner mold 1 and the outer mold 2 that are normally used. As the inner mold 1, a mainly cylindrical mold that can be inserted into a metal can main body and has an uneven pattern 3 to be embossed on the surface thereof is used.
FIG. 2 shows an embossed pattern on the side wall of the can body portion of the metal can body C by inserting the metal can body C into the inner mold 1 and pressing the pressure contact portion A of the outer mold 2 having the pressure contact portion A and the non-pressure contact portion B against this. 3 is formed.
FIG. 3 shows details of the convex portion 5 carved in the inner mold according to the present invention. The tip of the convex portion 5 is molded into an R shape having a radius of 0.2 to 1.0 mmφ.
FIG. 4 shows details of an uneven shape used in the prior art. The top of the convex portion 4 is flat, and the corner edge portion is molded at a substantially right angle.
The uneven pattern to be embossed on the metal can is not limited, but the shape is not limited as long as it gives the metal can an effect of improving the design. In order to form vertical stripes mainly on the metal can body side wall, one having vertical stripes on the top and bottom is used.
[0013]
The inner mold 1 can be of any material as long as it is hard and wear resistant, but it can be metal, ceramics, hard resin, etc., can be precision processed, has little wear, and has excellent toughness. Most preferred are metals. In particular, steel having a hard chrome plating or the like is suitable for preventing wear.
[0014]
The outer mold 2 is an embossed material by selecting an elastic material opposite to the cylindrical inner mold 1 and pressing the metal can barrel side wall between the inner mold 1 and pressing it. is there. Accordingly, hard rubber, plastic, etc. having a hardness of about 30 to 70 IRHD can be used as the material. As shown in FIG. 2 , only the area where the metal can C is formed with a concavo-convex pattern needs to be in pressure contact with the inner mold 1 as the shape of the outer mold 2. There is no particular limitation as long as the shape is not given. A is a pressure contact part and B is a non-pressure contact part.
[0015]
【Example】
Hard chrome plating process using a 3004 aluminum alloy metal plate and a two-piece can body with a capacity of 350 ml formed by drawing and ironing. The metal can barrel side wall was embossed using the inner mold and the hard rubber outer mold having a hardness of 50 IRHD.
Table 1 shows the relationship between the radius R of the tip of the inner convex portion, ERV (Enamel Rater Value), and apparent sharpness.
[0016]
[Table 1]
Figure 0004447864
(Note 1) ERV (Enamel Rater Value): Displayed as the current value when a 1% saline solution is filled in the can and a voltage of 6.2 V is applied. An ERV value of 5 mA or less is evaluated as a good product.
(Note 2) The appearance is a pattern formed on the side wall of the metal can body.
(Note 3) ◎: Pattern is very sharp, ○: Pattern is sharp, △: Pattern is unclear (poor appearance)
[0017]
As is apparent from the measurement evaluation in Table 1, the appearance (pattern state) is excellent in addition to the ERV value when the unevenness pattern is formed on the side wall of the metal can body using the mold of the present invention.
[0018]
【The invention's effect】
The present invention uses the inner mold and the mold used to form a sharp concavo-convex pattern on the body side wall for the purpose of improving the design in order to ensure the aesthetic superiority of the appearance of the metal can. The present invention provides a method for forming a concavo-convex pattern on the side wall of a metal can body.
