Description

The present invention relates to an airbag device that deploys in a curtain shape inside a window to protect an occupant when an automobile collides.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, for example, an airbag device that is deployed in a curtain shape along the inside of a window and protects an occupant from an impact at the time of a collision when a vehicle collides with a side is known.

The “head protection airbag device” described in Patent Document 1 ejects a folded airbag and a high-pressure gas at the time of collision into a roof head lining that covers a vehicle interior side surface of a roof rail provided above a window. An inflator is stored.

In the airbag, a gas inflow portion is formed of a gas supply path portion and an expansion shielding portion, and the expansion shielding portion has a plurality of inflating portions arranged in parallel in the front-rear direction.

In addition, a distal end extending portion for pushing and opening a door portion provided on the front pillar garnish is formed on the distal end side of the gas supply passage portion away from the inflator, and on the upper edge side periphery of the gas supply passage portion. A downward guide portion for guiding the high-pressure gas to the plurality of inflating portions excluding the tip inflating portion is formed.

In the airbag device described in Patent Document 1, the high-pressure gas ejected from the inflator when the automobile collides reaches the distal end extending portion through the gas supply passage portion of the airbag, and the distal end extending portion expands. However, since the door part of the front pillar garnish is pushed open downward, a smooth opening operation of the door part can be secured, and at the same time, the high pressure gas flows into each inflating part guided by the downward guiding part, so that it is separated from the inflator. The inflating part is inflated and deployed, and the airbag can be quickly inflated and deployed.
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2002-337643

However, in the airbag device described in Patent Document 1, the tip extension portion is inflated by the high-pressure gas ejected from the inflator at the time of a collision of the automobile, and the door portion provided in the front pillar garnish is opened. It is not the structure which expands so that an installation part may cover window frames, such as a front pillar.

This invention is made | formed in view of this point, and it aims at providing the airbag apparatus which can be inflate-deployed so that the window frame of the periphery of a window, etc. may be covered.

An airbag apparatus according to the present invention includes an airbag that is inflated and deployed in a curtain shape along the inside of windows provided on both sides of a window in a vehicle interior by high-pressure gas ejected from an inflator at the time of a vehicle collision. An apparatus is an apparatus in which an airbag is integrally formed so as to be continuous with a window-side deployment portion that is inflated and deployed so as to cover the window, and is inflated so as to cover the window frame on the periphery of the window and the vicinity of the window frame. A window frame deploying portion that is deployed, and the window side deploying portion and the window frame deploying portion are folded together and stored above the window, and one end side of the airbag is on the window frame deploying portion side. A fixing member that is sewn to the side surface of the window side and the other end side is fixed to the window frame side, and when the window frame expanding portion is inflated and deployed, the fixing member is connected to the window frame expanding portion and the window frame. Monodea to deploy between the window .

With the above configuration, the window frame deployment part is inflated and deployed so as to cover the window frame on the window periphery and the vicinity of the window frame, and the airbag can be formed simply by providing the window frame deployment part integrally with the window side deployment part. A highly functional airbag device can be obtained at low cost. Further, when the window frame deploying portion is deployed, the fixing member is deployed between the window frame deploying portion and the window to protect the window frame deploying portion, so that the airbag can be used when the window glass is open. Since the fixing member stabilizes the deployed position of the window frame deployment part, the deployment position of the window frame deployment part can be prevented from being shifted from the window frame and deployed outside the vehicle.

The airbag device of the present invention is such that when the airbag is inflated and deployed, the window side deployment portion is deployed first, and then the window frame deployment portion is deployed so that the airbag is folded.

With the above-described configuration, the window-side development portion can be reliably inflated and deployed so as to cover the inside of the window, and thus the safety at the time of side collision or rollover is improved.

According to the airbag device of the present invention, the window frame deployment part is deployed so as to cover the window frame on the periphery of the window and the vicinity of the window frame, so that higher safety can be provided.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 1 is a front view of an airbag device housed inside an interior material covering the passenger compartment side of a roof side rail, FIG. 2 is a front view of a state in which a window side deployment portion is deployed, and FIG. 3 is a plan view of the same. 4 is a front view of a state in which the window frame unfolding portion is unfolded, FIG. 5 is a plan view of the same, and FIG.

FIG. 1 is a front view of a window provided on a side surface from a vehicle interior. The front pillar garnish 1a covering the vehicle interior surface of the front pillar 1 and the upper portion of the front pillar 1 are connected to the upper side of the center pillar 3. An airbag 5 is stored in a folded state inside an interior material (roof head lining) 4 that covers a roof side rail 2 that extends through a rear pillar (not shown).

The airbag 5 is deployed so as to cover the window frame such as the window-side deployment part 6 that is deployed on the curtain along the inside of the window 9 and the front pillar 1 provided on the periphery of the window 9 when the automobile collides. A window frame deployment part 7, and the window frame deployment part 7 is integrally formed at the front end of the window side deployment part 6, and a plurality of, for example, two base fabrics made of woven fabric such as nylon 66 By sewing the periphery, the entire airbag 5 is formed in a bag shape.

The window-side development part 6 is formed in a size that covers almost the entire window 9 provided on the side surface of the vehicle body, and a gas supply path 6a is formed in the upper part from the front end part to the rear end part, The rear end of the gas supply path 6a serves as a gas inlet, and a gas outlet of an inflator (both not shown) installed in the rear pillar garnish covering the passenger compartment surface side of the rear pillar is formed at the gas inlet. It is connected.

The two base fabrics forming the window-side development part 6 are sewn together by a plurality of sewing parts 6b, and the high-pressure gas supplied to the gas supply path 6a is sent to the window-side development part by these sewing parts 6b. At the same time as being guided to the lower side of the window 6, the window-side development part 6 is inflated and deployed in a predetermined shape along the inside of the window 9.

A plurality of mounting pieces 6c are provided on the upper edge of the window-side development portion 6 so as to be spaced apart in the front-rear direction. These mounting pieces 6c are provided on the vehicle interior side of the roof side rail 2 by fixing tools 8 such as screws. It is fixed.

On the other hand, the window frame unfolding portion 7 connected to the front end portion of the window side unfolding portion 6 has a bag shape in which the leading end side is gradually narrowed as shown in FIG. 3, and the leading end portion is formed in a small arc shape. The front pillar garnish 1a can be almost entirely covered when deployed.

The boundary between the window side unfolding portion 6 and the window frame unfolding portion 7 is a fold line 7a when the window frame unfolding portion 7 is folded, and the window is overlapped with the window side unfolding portion 6 as shown in FIG. After the frame unfolding portion 7 is folded, the window side unfolding portion 6 and the window frame unfolding portion 7 are folded together.

A portion slightly behind the fold line 7a is sewn so that the bottom side of the fixing member 10 formed by cutting the woven fabric into a substantially triangular shape is substantially parallel to the fold line 7a.

The fixing member 10 is formed to be slightly shorter than the entire length of the window frame expanding portion 7, and an annular mounting ring 10 a sewn on the top is fixed to the side surface of the front pillar 1 by a fixing tool 12 such as a bolt. The bracket 11 is locked in the mounting hole 11a as shown in FIG.

The front pillar garnish 1a covering the vehicle interior side of the front pillar 1 and the interior material 4 covering the vehicle interior side of the roof side rail 2 are fastened to the front pillar 1 and the roof side rail 2 by fastening means such as clips. The side edge of the front pillar garnish 1a opposite to the windshield 13 side is opened as shown in FIG. 6 by the inflation pressure of the airbag 5 that is inflated when the automobile collides, and the roof side rail 2 The interior material 4 covering the bottom is open on the lower edge side.

Next, the operation at the time of incorporating the above-configured airbag device and at the time of automobile collision will be described. The airbag 5 in which the window side deployment portion 6 and the window frame deployment portion 7 are integrally formed is folded in advance in the roof side. Although it is accommodated between the rail 2 and the interior material 4, when the airbag 5 is folded, the window frame unfolding portion 7 is temporarily unfolded from the folding line 7a provided at the boundary between the window side unfolding portion 6 and the window frame unfolding portion 7. It bends as shown in FIG.

Then, in this state, the window side unfolding portion 6 and the window frame unfolding portion 7 are folded together and stored between the roof side rail 2 and the interior material 4, and the fixing member 10 whose bottom is sewn slightly behind the folding line 7a. When the mounting ring 10a provided on the top is locked in the mounting hole 11a of the bracket 11 fixed to the front pillar 1, the front pillar 1 is covered with the front pillar garnish 1a and the roof side rail 2 is covered with the interior material 4. The airbag 5 is assembled between the interior material 4 and the roof side rail 2, and the inflator is assembled between the rear pillar and the rear pillar garnish.

On the other hand, when the automobile collides sideways or rolls over, for example, high-pressure gas is supplied from the inflator to the gas supply path 6 a formed along the upper edge of the window-side development part 6.

As a result, the window-side unfolding portion 6 and the window frame unfolding portion 7 start to expand, so that the lower edge side of the interior material 4 covering the roof side rail 2 is opened by the expansion pressure of the window-side unfolding portion 6, and the window-side unfolding portion 6 becomes the window. As shown in FIG. 2, it is developed along the inner side of the window 9 as shown in FIG. Part 7 is deployed as shown in FIG.

Then, as the window side unfolding portion 6 is unfolded downward, the window frame unfolding portion 7 that has been folded to the window unfolding portion 6 side is unfolded forward as shown in FIGS. 6, the window frame unfolding portion 7 covers the interior surface of the front pillar 1 as shown in FIG. 6, so that when the automobile collides or rolls over, the occupant is placed on the window frame of the front pillar 1 or the like. It is possible to prevent the head and the like from coming into direct contact.

Further, when the window side deployment part 6 is deployed, the fixing member 10 accommodated inside the front pillar garnish 1a is deployed between the window frame deployment part 7 and the window 9 and is superposed on the window frame deployment part 7, The fixing member 10 functions as a protective layer for the window frame deployment portion 7, thereby reducing the influence on the airbag 5 when the window glass is open, and the fixing member 10 is used for the window frame deployment portion. 7 is stabilized, it is possible to prevent the deployment position of the window frame deployment section 7 from being shifted from the window frame and deployed outside the vehicle.

In the above-described embodiment, the window frame deploying portion 7 is unfolded so as to cover the front pillar 1 to prevent a secondary collision of the occupant, but a window frame other than the front pillar 1 such as a center pillar, You may make it prevent beforehand that a passenger | crew collides with a window frame by extending so that a rear pillar etc. may be covered.

Although the fixing member 10 is formed by cutting the woven fabric into a substantially triangular shape, the fixing member 10 may be formed of a tape-like material or a string-like material having a narrow width. When the window 6 is inflated and deployed, the deployed position of the window-side developed part 6 can be stabilized, so that the window-side developed part 6 can be reliably inflated and deployed in a predetermined shape along the inner surface of the window 9 and at the same time It is possible to prevent the development position of the development part 7 from being shifted from the window frame.

In the airbag device of the present invention, the window frame deployment part is deployed so as to cover the window frame on the periphery of the window and the vicinity of the window frame, and can provide higher safety. It is most suitable for airbag devices that are deployed to protect passengers.
