Description
前記排気管に接続された筒状入口部,前記入口部に入口側筒状テーパ部を介して接続された筒状中央部及び前記中央部に出口側筒状テーパ部を介して接続された筒状出口部を有する金属製ケース,前記ケースの前記中央部に配設された金属製ハニカム,並びに前記ケースの前記入口部に上流側端部が嵌合状態に固定され且つ前記上流側端部から流入した前記排気ガスを分散させて前記金属製ハニカムにガイドする排気ガス分散筒体を有し,
前記ケース内に位置する前記排気ガス分散筒体の外周部と突き当たり端部とには前記排気ガスを通過させる多数の通孔が形成され,前記金属製ハニカムを構成する前記排気ガスに接する表面には酸化触媒が担持されており,
前記金属製ハニカムは,平らな薄い金属平板と該金属平板に重ねられた凹凸の波状に折り曲げられた薄い金属波板とを螺旋状に巻き上げて形成された構造を有し,前記酸化触媒は,前記金属平板と前記金属波板とにそれぞれ担持されており,
前記金属製ハニカムを構成する前記金属平板と前記金属波板とは,板厚が0.025mm〜0.035mmの範囲に設定されており,
前記金属製ハニカムに対する前記排気ガス分散筒体のサイズは,前記排気ガス分散筒体の前記外周部に形成された前記通孔の合計面積である開口面積と前記端部に形成された前記通孔の合計面積である開口面積との比が,前記金属製ハニカムの端部の直径方向の面積から前記排気ガス分散筒体の前記端部の直径方向の面積を差し引いた面積と前記排気ガス分散筒体の前記端部の直径方向の前記面積に等しい前記金属製ハニカムの前記端部の面積との比にほぼ等しくなっており,前記比の許容差が15%以下に設定されており,
前記ケースにおける前記筒状テーパ部の傾斜角は,前記筒状テーパ部の長手方向の中心軸に対して35度〜55度の範囲に設定されており,前記ケースは,前記中央部の面を中心に対称形状に形成されていることを特徴とする排気ガス浄化装置に関する。

Claims (3)
- エンジンから排気管を通じて排出される排気ガスに含まれる粒子状物質を酸化反応させて前記排気ガスを浄化する排気ガス浄化装置において,
前記排気管に接続された筒状入口部,前記入口部に入口側筒状テーパ部を介して接続された筒状中央部及び前記中央部に出口側筒状テーパ部を介して接続された筒状出口部を有する金属製ケース,前記ケースの前記中央部に配設された金属製ハニカム,並びに前記ケースの前記入口部に上流側端部が嵌合状態に固定され且つ前記上流側端部から流入した前記排気ガスを分散させて前記金属製ハニカムにガイドする排気ガス分散筒体を有し,
前記ケース内に位置する前記排気ガス分散筒体の外周部と突き当たり端部とには前記排気ガスを通過させる多数の通孔が形成され,前記金属製ハニカムを構成する前記排気ガスに接する表面には酸化触媒が担持されており,
前記金属製ハニカムは,平らな薄い金属平板と該金属平板に重ねられた凹凸の波状に折り曲げられた薄い金属波板とを螺旋状に巻き上げて形成された構造を有し,前記酸化触媒は,前記金属平板と前記金属波板とにそれぞれ担持されており,
前記金属製ハニカムを構成する前記金属平板と前記金属波板とは,板厚が0.025mm〜0.035mmの範囲に設定されており,
前記金属製ハニカムに対する前記排気ガス分散筒体のサイズは,前記排気ガス分散筒体の前記外周部に形成された前記通孔の合計面積である開口面積と前記端部に形成された前記通孔の合計面積である開口面積との比が,前記金属製ハニカムの端部の直径方向の面積から前記排気ガス分散筒体の前記端部の直径方向の面積を差し引いた面積と前記排気ガス分散筒体の前記端部の直径方向の前記面積に等しい前記金属製ハニカムの前記端部の面積との比にほぼ等しくなっており,前記比の許容差が15%以下に設定されており,
前記ケースにおける前記筒状テーパ部の傾斜角は,前記筒状テーパ部の長手方向の中心軸に対して35度〜55度の範囲に設定されており,前記ケースは,前記中央部の面を中心に対称形状に形成されていることを特徴とする排気ガス浄化装置。 - 前記金属製ハニカムに担持された前記酸化触媒のうちPtの含有量は,0.75g/リットル〜1.45g/リットルの範囲に調整されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の排気ガス浄化装置。
- 前記ケースは,ステンレススチールから成り,前記排気管に設けたマフラの上流側又は下流側の前記排気管に取り付けられることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の排気ガス浄化装置。
