本発明は、食品,飲料,洗剤等の半流動性又は流動性の内容物を充填するのに適したパウチ等の袋状容器にかかり、特に、袋状容器の側面にエンボス模様を施したエンボス模様付き袋状容器の成形方法,エンボス模様付き袋状容器の成形装置及びエンボス模様付き袋状容器に関する。

近年、食料品や飲料、洗剤、接着剤等の内容物を充填して店頭の陳列棚等に配列される容器として、パウチ等の袋状容器が知られている(例えば、特許文献1及び特許文献2)。

さらに、近年では、内容物を袋状容器に充填して販売するメーカーや販売業者の多くは、袋状容器の陳列状態や袋状容器の形状、袋状容器の側面に施す模様等を工夫して、他社の製品よりも消費者の注意を惹くことに重点を置くようになっている。

このため、新たな差別化の要求が急速に高まってきている。その一つとして、印刷を立体的にする等、袋状容器に質感を持たせる工夫が種々なされているが、現在までのところ満足のいくものは得られていない。
さらに、パウチ等の袋状容器は剛性に乏しいため、店頭に陳列した際に首垂れして見栄えが悪くなったり、内容物を取り出す際に袋状容器が折れ曲がって取り出しにくいという問題がある。

また、袋状容器を落としたときに袋状容器が破損しない強さ、いわゆる落下耐性が小さく、袋状容器を落下させることで容器に袋状容器が破れて内容物が散乱したり漏れ出したりするという問題がある。このような問題は、袋状容器の肉厚を厚くして剛性を高めることである程度は解決できるものの、このようにすると、材料の使用量が増えて成形コストが高くなり、袋状容器の価格を高くするという新たな問題が生じる。
またさらに、パウチ等の袋状容器の表面は一般に平滑であるため、内容物を取り出す際に袋状容器が滑りやすいという問題がある。

さらに、内容物を充填する際に袋状容器の内面が密着して開きにくくなったり、自立性の袋状容器においては折り畳んだ状態の底部を展開しにくくなったりして、内容物の充填ができなかったり困難になったりすることがある。そのため、現状では、ニッカリ粉等の粉末を袋状容器の内面に塗布して、袋状容器の内面の密着や折り畳んだ底部の密着を防止し、内容物を充填する際に袋状容器が開きやすくしている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
本発明は、上記の問題点にかんがみてなされたもので、上記の問題点を一挙に解決することのできる袋状容器の成形方法,袋状容器の成形装置及び袋状容器を提供するものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的の達成を図るため、本発明に係るエンボス模様付き袋状容器の成形方法は、軟包材から成形され、内容物を充填して密封される袋状容器にエンボス模様を形成するエンボス模様付き袋状容器の成形方法であって、形成しようとするエンボス模様にしたがって形成された凸部を有する上部材を加熱し、少なくとも前記凸部が所定温度に加熱されるようにした後に、前記凸部を前記軟包材の表面に接触させて、前記軟包材を部分的に収縮させて外側に盛り上がらせることにより所定形状の第一のエンボス模様を形成する方法としてある。
本発明の成形方法においては、軟包材を加熱・冷却したときに生じる、いわゆるひきつれと称される収縮現象を利用することで、袋状容器の所定の部位に凹凸状のエンボス模様を予め設定された形状に形成することができる。

本発明に係るエンボス模様付き袋状容器の成形方法にあっては、前記軟包材が、融点の異なる複数の樹脂フィルムを貼り合わせてなるのが好ましく、特に、前記軟包材が、ナイロンフィルムとポリエチレンフィルとを貼り合わせてなり、外側に位置するように形成された前記ナイロンフィルムに前記凸部を接触させるのが好ましい。さらに、後者の場合には、前記凸部の温度が、ポリエチレンの融点とほぼ同じ又は若干低めになるように前記上部材を加熱するのが好ましい。

また、本発明に係るエンボス模様付き袋状容器の成形方法は、前記凸部を前記軟包材の表面に接触させて前記第一のエンボス模様を形成するのと同時に、前記凸部の周囲の表面に設けられた前記上部材の加熱部からの熱により前記第一のエンボス模様の周囲の少なくとも一部を部分的に盛り上がらせて、不定形状の第二のエンボス模様を形成してもよい。

袋状容器の表面に施された凹凸からなる第一のエンボス模様には質感があり、印刷による他の模様とは違った印象を消費者に与えることができる。そのため、このような第一のエンボス模様を袋状容器に施すことによって、他の袋状容器との差別化を図ることができる。

また、本発明に係るエンボス模様付き袋状容器は、前記第一のエンボス模様が長尺線状の成分を含み、この長尺線状の第一のエンボス模様が前記袋状容器の周縁のシールを施した部分に沿って形成されているものとしてもよい。
凹凸からなる第一のエンボス模様はリブとしても機能し、このような第一のエンボス模様を周縁のシール部分に沿って形成することで、袋状容器の剛性を高めることができる。そのため、陳列中に首垂れしにくく、内容物を取り出す際にも折れ曲がりにくい袋状容器を得ることができる。また、袋状容器に落下衝撃等の衝撃が作用すると同時に、袋状容器の内圧が上昇して、リブが長手方向と直交する方向に拡がる。その結果、袋状容器の内圧が下がり、袋状容器の周縁に施されたシール部分に作用する力が低減して、袋状容器の落下耐性を向上させることができる。
さらに、従来の袋状容器よりも薄肉にしても十分な剛性を得ることができるので、軟包材の使用量を減らして、その分、袋状容器の価格を低くすることができる。

さらに、本発明に係るエンボス模様付き袋状容器は、前記第一のエンボス模様を形成した部分の周囲の少なくとも一部に、不定形状の第二のエンボス模様を形成してもよい。
このような第二のエンボス模様は、上記の第一のエンボス模様と相俟って、袋状容器の模様にさらに質感を与え、他の袋状容器とのさらなる差別化を図ることができる。
この場合前記第二のエンボス模様の少なくとも一部が、前記袋状容器の周縁のシール部分に沿って形成されているようにするとよい。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図面を参照しながら、本発明にかかる容器の成形方法の好適な実施形態を説明する。
[第一の実施形態]
図1は本発明の一実施形態にかかり、(a)はエンボス模様付き袋状容器の斜視図、(b)は(a)のエンボス模様のI-I方向拡大断面図である。
図1(a)に示すように、エンボス模様付き袋状容器10は、軟包材で形成された袋状容器11の側面に凹凸状のエンボス模様20を施して形成されている。
軟包材に使用する樹脂はポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリスチレン、ポリアミド(ナイロン)、PET等のポリエステル、ポリ乳酸、エチレンビニルアルコール共重合体等の熱可塑性樹脂を用いることができる。また、容器の用途に応じて、これらの単層又は多層として用いる。また多層構成の場合は層間に接着剤層を設けてもよい。

袋状容器11は、その周縁に、サイドシール13とボトムシール14とトップシール15が施されている。そして、トップシール15の一部を図中点線で示すように切り取ることで、注出口16が形成されるようになっている。また、袋状容器11の底部12は、内容物を充填したときにエンボス模様付き袋状容器10が膨らんで自立させることができるように、折り線12aで二つ折にされた状態になっている。

第一のエンボス模様であるエンボス模様20は、袋状容器11の側面の所定個所に一つ又は複数形成されている。このエンボス模様20は、文字,図形,記号のいずれであってもよく、これらを組み合わせたものであってもよい。
また、袋状容器11の側面の一方に形成してもよいし、一側面と他側面の両面に形成してもよい。袋状容器11の側面の両方にエンボス模様20を形成する場合は、一側面と他側面とで異なるエンボス模様20としてもよい。

なお、エンボス模様20の一部(図中符号20aで示す部分)を、サイドシール13に沿った長尺線状に形成するとよい。このような長尺線状の部分20aを設けることで、エンボス模様20がリブとしての機能を果たし、エンボス模様付き袋状容器10の剛性を高めることができる。そのため、店頭に陳列した際に首垂れしにくく、内容物を取り出す際にも容易に折れ曲がるということがない。また、エンボス模様付き袋状容器10に落下衝撃等の衝撃が作用すると同時に、エンボス模様付き袋状容器10の内圧が上昇して、リブとして機能するエンボス模様20が長手方向と直交する方向に拡がる。

その結果、エンボス模様付き袋状容器10の内圧が下がり、エンボス模様付き袋状容器10の周縁に施されたサイドシール13やトップシール15,ボトムシール14に作用する力が低減して、エンボス模様付き袋状容器10を落下させたときの強度である落下耐性を向上させることができる。さらに、従来の袋状容器よりも薄肉にしても十分な剛性を得ることができるので、軟包材の使用量を減らして、その分、袋状容器の価格を低くすることができる。

図1(b)に示す袋状容器11aは、複数(この実施形態では二つ)の樹脂フィルムを貼り合わされてなる軟包材から形成されている。この実施形態では、融点約235℃、肉厚約0.05mmのナイロン11aと、融点約120℃のポリエチレン11bを接着剤で貼り合わせて、軟包材が形成されている。さらに、この軟包材によって形成された袋状容器11は、ナイロン11aが外側に、ポリエチレン11bが内側に位置するように形成されている。エンボス模様20の断面は、凸部21と凹部22とからなる凹凸状をなしている。

そして、凸部21が袋状容器11の側面の表面から所定形状のエンボス模様20を浮き上がらせている。このようなエンボス模様20は、印刷等による平面的な模様と異なり、袋状容器11の側面の模様に質感を与えることができるという利点がある。
さらに、凸部21がエンボス模様付き袋状容器10を掴んだときの滑り止めとなって、内容物を取り出す際に取り出しやすくなるという利点がある。

これらの二つの樹脂フィルム(ナイロン11a及びポリエチレン11b)を貼り合わせてなる軟包材を本発明の成形方法に賦すことにより、樹脂フィルムが局部的に盛り上がりエンボスが形成される。なお、成形前の樹脂フィルム面は凹部の最深部を結んだ面である。

次に、上記構成のエンボス模様付き袋状容器10の成形方法について説明する。
図2は、エンボス模様20を形成する手順を説明する図である。
まず、形成しようとするエンボス模様20にしたがった形状の凸部25aを有する上部材25と、袋状容器10の材料となる単層又は積層フィルムを載置するシリコンラバー等で形成された下部材26とを準備する。下部材26の表面は平坦状であってもよいし、上部材25の凸部25aと同様の凸部を形成してもよい。この実施形態では、下部材26の表面は平坦状であるものとする。

図2(a)に示すように、下部材26の上に、袋状容器11を形成するための軟包材を載せる。この軟包材は、袋状容器11の内側に位置するポリエチレン11bと、外側に位置するナイロン11aとを積層してなるものである。
この状態で、軟包材の上方に上部材25を位置させる。
この上部材25は、図示しない加熱手段によって、少なくとも凸部25aの部分が所定温度に加熱されるようになっている。加熱温度は、ポリエチレン11bの融点とほぼ同じか、これよりも若干低めになるようにするよい。具体的には、110℃程度に加熱するとよい。

次いで、図2(b)に示すように、上部材25を下部材26に向けて移動させて、凸部25aを軟包材の表面に接触させる。これにより、凸部25aの接触した部分が加熱・冷却され、ナイロン11a及びポリエチレン11bが袋状容器11の外側に盛り上がり、凸部21と凹部22とからなるエンボス模様20が形成される。

このように、本実施形態では、軟包材を加熱・冷却したときに生じる、ひきつれ現象と称される収縮を利用しているので、エンボス模様20を形成しようとする部分を加熱・冷却するだけでよく、上記したようなきわめて簡素な成形装置でエンボス模様20を形成することができ、設備コストを低廉なものにすることができるという利点がある。
また、エンボス模様20の形状は上部材25の凸部25aの高さの他、軟包材の構成、材質、構造、軟包材にかかるテンション、加熱温度、時間により調整することができる。

なお、上部材25と下部材26とは、図2に示すような平板状のものであってもよいが、連続回転式のローラ状のものを用いてもよい。また、ロール状に巻いた長尺の積層フィルムから、必要長さの積層フィルムを上部材25と下部材26との間に送り出しながら、連続的にエンボス模様を形成するようにするとよい。
このようにすることで、袋状容器に連続的にエンボス模様を形成することができ、大量生産に適している。

[第二の実施形態]
図2に示した第一の実施形態の方法では、軟包材にエンボス模様20を形成した後、この軟包材を貼り合わせてエンボス模様付き袋状容器10を成形するようにしている。次に説明する第二の実施形態では、軟包材を貼り合わせて袋状容器11を形成した後、この袋状容器11の両側面に、エンボス模様20を形成してエンボス模様付き袋状容器10を成形する場合を説明する。

袋状容器11の両側面にエンボス模様20を形成するには、図3(a)に示すように、袋状容器11の両側面に対峙させて二つの上部材251,252を配置する。この上部材251,252には、ぞれぞれ、袋状容器11の一側面及び他側面に形成しようとするエンボス模様20の形状に応じた形状で、凸部251a,252aが形成されている。この実施形態では、二つの上部材251,252によって袋状容器11の両側面に形成されるエンボス模様20は同一のものであるとして説明するが、異なる模様であってもよいことは勿論である。

また、袋状容器11の内部には、断熱性・耐熱性に優れたシリコンラバー等の板状の下部材261を挿入する。下部材261を袋状容器11の中に挿入するのは、袋状容器11の内面を形成しているポリエチレン11b,11bが、エンボス模様20を形成する際の熱により溶着しないようにするためである。
次いで、二つの上部材251,252の凸部251a,252aを所定温度(前記した110℃程度の温度)に加熱し、上部材251,252を互いに接近させて、袋状容器11を上部材251,252に接触させる。

このようにすることで、図3(b)に示すように、袋状容器11の両側面にエンボス模様20が形成される。このとき、エンボス模様付き袋状容器10の内側には、一側面及び他側面の凸部21,21が形成された部分に空間23が形成されるので、エンボス模様付き袋状容器10の内面の密着や折り畳んだ状態の底部12の密着を防止して、内容物を充填する際にエンボス模様付き袋状容器10を開きやすくする。

図4は、図2の方法で両側面にエンボス模様20を形成したエンボス模様付き袋状容器10の図1(a)におけるII-II方向断面図である。
図2に示した方法によれば、折り線12aで折り畳まれた状態の底部12にも、外側に突出するエンボス模様20を形成することが可能である。このように、本発明においては、袋状容器11の目立たない部分に、袋状容器11のメーカーの名称や社章等を、エンボス模様で記載することができる。

[第三の実施形態]
図5は、本発明の第三の実施形態にかかるエンボス模様付き袋状容器及びその成形方法、成形装置を示す斜視図である。
この実施形態では、袋状容器31の両側面に、エンボス模様40を加熱・冷却して形成する二つの上部材451,452は、第一の実施形態の上部材25や第二の実施形態の上部材251,252よりもさらに簡素なものである。すなわち、この第三の実施形態の上部材451,452は、エンボス模様40と同じ形状に形成された線状の部材451a,452aと、この線状の部材451a,452aを支持する支持部材451b,452bとから概略構成されている。

また、線状の部材451a,452aにはニクロム線等の加熱手段が内蔵されていて、この加熱手段で線状の部材451a,452aをポリエチレン11bの融点付近の温度まで加熱するようになっている。なお、別体の加熱手段で線状の部材451a,452aを加熱するようにしてもよいことは勿論である。
袋状容器31の内部に挿入される下部材46は、先の実施形態と同様に、シリコンラバー等で形成された平板状のものである。

上記した上部材451,452と下部材46とからなる成形装置を用いてエンボス模様40を形成するには、まず、線状の部材451a,452aを所定温度に加熱した上部材451,452を、袋状容器31の両側面に対峙させて配置し、上部材451,452のそれぞれを袋状容器31に向けて移動させる。袋状容器31には予め下部材46を挿入しておく。そして、線状の部材451a,452aを袋状容器31の両側面に接触させる。これにより、線状の部材451,452の形状と同じ形状のエンボス模様40が、袋状容器31の両側面に形成される。
上部材451,452として同一のものを用いることで、袋状容器31の両側面の同じ位置に、同じ形状のエンボス模様40を形成することができる。
