本発明は、通信機器及び通信システムに係り、特に自動で通信機器の利用者を認識して再生条件や撮影条件を設定することが可能な通信機器及び通信システムに関する。

【従来の技術】
従来から、管理された部屋へ入室する際に鍵又はIDカード等を用いて入室の許可を得る方法が知られている。また、現金のディスペンサー等の装置では利用者が持参したIDカードと利用者が記憶している利用者固有の暗証番号とを入力することによって以降の利用が可能となる装置が知られている。また、ネットワークを介してコンピュータ同士を通信接続する際にスレーブ側のアカウントと固有のパスワードとをマスター側の機器に送信することによってユーザーを特定し、以降の利用を許可又は制限する方法が知られている。また、無線近距離通信の技術では、お互いに通信接続を行う通信接続機器にアクセスキーを保持しておき、再度の通信を簡易的に行う機能が用意されている。

また、目の網膜や指紋等の身体的特徴を撮影して個人を特定する認証方法が知られており、また、濃度の低い指画像においても認証の精度を向上させることが可能な個人認証装置が特開平5−342333号の公報に示されている。

また、デジタルカメラから送信された画像が受信側で不特定の者に閲覧されてしまうことを防ぐために、デジタルカメラから画像を送信する際に、送信する画像データに暗証番号又はそれに相当する情報を付加する認証情報付加手段を備えたデジタルカメラ及び画像送信システムが特開平11−313237号の公報に示されている。

また、認証用媒体により容易にユーザーを特定し、ユーザーの特定の可否により画像データの機密性を高めることが可能であるとともに、ユーザーが使用可能な機能を制限することが可能な画像処理装置が特開平11−313237号の公報に示されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、一般にカメラは利用者を特定するための認証機能を備えていないので、複数の人がカメラを利用して撮影を実施した場合、特定の個人が撮影した画像を他の人が自由に閲覧することが可能となっている。したがって、自分で撮影した画像を他の利用者に閲覧される危険性がある。

従来から利用さている個人を特定するための鍵、IDカード、暗証番号、認証用の媒体を用いた特定方法は、利用者に対して何らかの操作や入力を要求するものであるため、カメラに応用したとしても操作性が煩雑になるという不具合を生じていた。

また、身体的特徴を利用した個人の特定方法においても、指紋や網膜等の身体的特徴を認証用の機器に提示する必要があるという操作性の煩雑さが残ることと、認証用の手段をカメラに専用に設ける必要があるためカメラの携行性が悪化するという不具合を招いていた。

本発明は、このような事情に鑑みてなされたもので、通信機器又は電子カメラを使用している利用者を自動で特定することによって、利用できる機能を自動で制限する通信機器及び通信システムを提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前記目的を達成するために請求項1に記載の発明は、画像の再生機能を制限する再生条件を他の通信機器から無線で受信することが可能な通信手段と、前記受信した再生条件に基づいて画像の再生を行う再生手段とを備えたことを特徴としている。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下添付図面に従って、本発明に係る通信機器及び通信システムの好ましい実施の形態について詳説する。

同図によれば通信システムは、撮像手段と無線通信手段等を備えた電子カメラ10(通信機器の一形態)と、無線通信手段及び記録手段等を備えた通信機器である携帯電話40と、情報を記録する記録手段及び無線通信手段等を備えた通信機器てあるサーバ90とから構成されている。電子カメラ10は近距離無線の通信手段により携帯電話40と情報の送受信が可能となっている。また、携帯電話40は公衆回線等の通信手段によりサーバ90と情報の送受信を行うことが可能となっている。

例えば利用者は、利用者自身が所有する携帯電話40を携行して電子カメラ10を用いて撮影を行う。そのときに電子カメラ10は携帯電話40と自動で通信を開始して携帯電話40から携帯電話40の所有者固有の第1の識別情報を自動で取得して、撮影した画像とともに前記識別情報を記録する。

電子カメラ10の電源を投入して撮影のモードに設定すると、先ず電子カメラ10の情報処理手段116は画像の撮影機能を制限する撮影モードである「未認証モード」に設定する。そして情報処理手段116は通信手段129に対して近距離無線の通信の開始を指示する。そして無線による通信を開始して撮影条件に相当する「認証コード」を提供可能な通信機器を探索する。もし電子カメラ10の近傍に撮影条件を提供可能な、電子カメラ10の利用者の所有する携帯電話40等が存在する場合には、その携帯電話40からの応答に基づいて無線の通信を確立してお互いに以降の通信を継続するためのペアリングの処理を開始する。そして携帯電話40に対して電子カメラ10の記録手段であるメモリ123等(記録部)が記録している電子カメラ10固有のID番号や製造番号、シリアル番号等の識別情報(電子カメラ10の利用者を特定する識別情報も含む)を、送信手段である通信手段129を介して携帯電話40等の通信機器に送信する。

次のステップでは電子カメラ10は携帯電話40に対して「認証コード」(撮影機能を制限する撮影条件の一形態であって、利用者又は所有者を特定する識別情報であってもよいし、前記撮影条件と関連付けられている識別情報であってもよい)の送信を請求する。電子カメラ10の情報処理手段116(撮影手段の一部の機能を備えるとともに照合手段としての機能も備えている)は、通信手段129が携帯電話40から無線で受信した「認証コード」が、電子カメラ10の記録手段であるメモリに記録されている識別情報と一致するか否かの照合を行う。該照合の結果、「認証コード」と識別情報とが一致している場合には、情報処理手段116は撮影のモードを、撮影機能を制限しない「認証モード」に設定して、各撮影モードに基づいて以降の撮影を実施する。

一方、電子カメラ10にて撮影する像は、撮像手段110の受光面に結像され、結像した被写体像は光電変換されて画像処理手段120に出力される。このようにして得られた画像データは、画像処理手段120にて増幅やノイズの低減処理が実施され、一時期フレームメモリ121に記憶する。情報処理手段116は、前記フレームメモリ121に記憶されている画像データを逐次D/A変換器133に伝達して表示手段132に表示している。

入力手段118に設けられているレリーズボタンを押すと、被写体を撮影するモードに入る。すると情報処理手段116はフレームメモリ121に記憶されている画像データを圧縮解凍手段124に転送して所定の撮影条件で画像データの圧縮処理を実施する指令を出力する。そして、記録媒体インターフェース127に対して画像データを順次記録媒体126に記録する処理を行う。このとき、画像ファイルの認証コード記憶部に、電子カメラ10固有の識別情報又は撮影者を特定する携帯電話40の識別情報(携帯電話の電話番号、シリアルキー等の情報)を併せて記録する。

前記「認証コード」を記録する認証コード記憶部は、画像ファイルのヘッダ部であってもよいし、画像そのものに「透かし」の模様として埋め込むようにしてもよい。なお、前記「未認証モード」での撮影条件は、例えばVGAサイズの以下の粗い画像でのみ記録可能にする条件でもよいし、所定の画素数以上での撮影を禁止する条件でもよいし、所定の圧縮率以上の画像情報の少ない画像データでの記録を許可する条件であってもよい。また、「認証モード」での撮影条件は、最大解像度での撮影が可能である撮影条件であってもよいし、低圧縮率の情報量の多い画像データでの記録を許可する条件であってもよい。

また、「未認証モード」における撮影条件は、全ての撮影を禁止する撮影条件、撮影を制限する時間を設定する条件、フラッシュの発光を禁止する撮影条件、特定の機種の記録機器(電子カメラ等)での撮影を禁止する撮影条件、撮影した画像に対して著作権を宣言する「透かし」等の所定情報を挿入する撮影条件、撮影した画像情報の分解能に関する条件又は撮影後に記録機器が発する発信音を制限する撮影条件等の条件であってもよい。

また、撮影した画像を他の通信機器に転送する場合には、画像の転送先となる他の通信機器と通信を確立して入力手段118に設けられている送信ボタンを押す。すると情報処理手段116は、指定された画像データを順次記録媒体126から読み出して、所定の撮影条件に適合する所定のデータ形式に変換したのちに通信手段129とアンテナ128とを介して他の通信機器に送信する処理を実行する。

次のステップでは電子カメラ10は携帯電話40に対して「認証コード」(画像の再生機能を制限する再生条件の一形態であって、再生を実施する利用者又は所有者を特定する識別情報であってもよいし、前記再生条件と関連付けられている識別情報であってもよい)の送信を請求する。電子カメラ10が携帯電話40から無線で受信した「認証コード」が、電子カメラ10のメモリ123又は再生を指示された画像ファイルに記録されている前記「認証コード」と同様の形態の識別情報と一致しているか否かの照合を行う。該照合の結果「認証コード」と識別情報とが一致している場合には、情報処理手段116は再生のモードを再生機能を制限しない「認証モード」に設定して、各再生モードに基づいて以降の再生処理を実施する。また、画像ファイル内に再生機能を制限する再生条件である「認証コード」が記録されていない場合には、再生を制限する必要のない画像データであると判断して、「認証モード」に設定して記録されている主画像をそのまま再生表示するようにしてもよい。

画像の再生モードでは、電子カメラ10の表示手段132には、記録媒体126に記録されている画像ファイルのリストが表示されている。この画像ファイルのリスト表示は、文字によるリスト表示であってもよいし、主画像のサイズを少なくした縮小画像(サムネイル画像とも呼ばれる)を表示して利用者にわかりやすく通知するようにしてもよい。
