各種の薬液や化石燃料等の液体を充填するためのプラスチック成形体からなる容器であり、ポリエチレン樹脂等の高分子材料によって、例えば高密度ポリエチレンを主体としこれに低密度ポリエチレン等の軟質材料を混合してブロー成形法等を用いて、ほぼ直方体状に成形された容器がある。

この種の容器は従来より家庭用から工業用にわたり非常に広範囲に使用されているが、一方で使用後の空容器の廃棄に際して、保管場所、取り扱い、輸送、資源ごみとしての回収にいろいろな問題があった。またそのまま放置しても自然崩壊しないため、自然環境破壊の原因ともなっていた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
近年この問題を解決するために、例えば実用新案登録第2604604号公報、特開平10−77045号公報等にみられるように、容器の胴体部にリブ或いは凹状の溝部を設けることにより、この部分を起点として前者は横潰し状態に、また後者は縦潰し状態に折り曲げ出来るようにしたものが提案されている。

しかし、これらのものはいずれも容器構成材料自体が持っている剛性のために、押し潰した後、保管中或いは放置中に元の形状近くに復元してしまい、減容効果が完全ではなかった。

本発明はこのような問題点を解消するためになされたものであり、使用後廃棄する際に、押し潰した後保管或いは放置しても元の形状に戻ることなく完全に押し潰した状態を維持することができ、かつ積み重ね可能であって空容器の完全な減容化が達成でき、保管、取り扱い、輸送、資源ごみとしての回収等の効率改善に顕著な効果の得られるプラスチック容器を提供するものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、容器本体の上部に口部及び取手を有し、全体形状がほぼ直方体形状のプラスチック容器である。この容器は高密度ポリエチレンまたはポリプロピレンなどのポリオレフィンを主体とし、これに適正な柔軟性及び落下強度を向上するため適量の低密度ポリエチレン等の軟質材料を混合したものを公知のブロー成形法などによって成形したものである。
