観測できる。即ち、送信器11から送り出され、一次放射器3の1つから所定方向(図示の例では南)(3S )の天頂角θに向けて電波レンズ1を経てパルス状の電波が放射されると、この電波は上空で大気の乱れ(乱流)に伴う屈折率の揺らぎにより僅かであるが散乱され、高度に対応する時間遅延を伴って電波レンズ1へ戻る。従って、散乱波強度を時間の関数として測定することにより高度別のデータを得ることができる。このような測定は受信器12で受信した電波信号を制御ボックス10内で演算することにより得られる。
西南北とそれぞれ天頂角θをなす位置に停止させ、それぞれの位置で風速、風向のデータを測定する点が異なる。

Claims (2)
- 誘電材料を用いて比誘電率が半径方向に所定の割合で変化するように形成した球形の電波レンズを支持部材で支持し、レンズ外周に接して又は沿って一次放射器を配設し、一次放射器に送、受信器を接続すると共に、送、受信される電波を制御する制御装置を備え、
前記電波レンズは、中心の球核の外側に異径球殻を順次積層して構成され、
前記電波レンズの比誘電率は、前記誘電材料の発泡倍率に加えて無機高誘電フィラーの添加割合を調整すると共に前記異径球殻の層数を調整することで風速レーダに適合させており、
観測すべき所望の複数の方位角方向に電波レンズを介して送、受信される電波の焦点位置に一次放射器を配設し、さらに、前記一次放射器を支持する複数の支持レールを備え、前記複数の支持レールは、互いに直交して設けられており、前記一次放射器を天頂方向、及び互いに直交する支持レール上に配設した風速レーダ。 - 前記球形の電波レンズに代えて球形レンズを2分した半球形の電波レンズ及び電波を反射する反射板を備えたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の風速レーダ。
