多数の透孔が形成され洗濯物を収容して回転駆動される回転ドラムが水槽内に設けられ、この水槽内の給水、排水及び前記回転ドラムの回転の制御により洗濯、すすぎ、脱水の各工程を実施すると共に、送風手段により水槽内の空気を除湿手段及び加熱手段を備えた循環送風経路を通して循環させることにより洗濯物の乾燥工程を実施し、循環送風経路の途中に主として糸くずなどの異物を捕集するフィルタを着脱できるように装着するフィルタ室を備えてなるドラム式洗濯乾燥機において、
前記フィルタは、フィルタ室の内面にほぼ沿う籠形をなし、フィルタ室のフィルタ挿入側の半部に設けられた循環空気導入口から循環空気を導入する開口を持った循環空気導入側の半部と、フィルタ室の奥側の半部に設けられた循環空気排出口に対応するフィルタ材を支持した循環空気排出側の半部とを有した支持枠を備え、支持枠の循環空気導入側の半部に前記循環空気導入口から導入しフィルタ材を通じ循環空気排出口へ排出する循環空気の流れによる吸引を受ける負圧領域を設けて、この負圧領域を外部からの外気導入路に連通させ、支持枠の循環空気導入側の半部の循環空気導入域の一部を外部への外部排気路に連通させたことを特徴とするドラム式洗濯乾燥機。
