Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a piezoelectric transformer device and a driving method thereof.
[0002]
[Prior art]
With the widespread use of various portable electronic devices such as portable TVs and laptop computers, piezoelectric transformers that use mechanical vibration energy as a conversion medium have been studied instead of electromagnetic transformers.
[0003]
In general, for a liquid crystal backlight inverter having a load resistance of several tens of kΩ to several hundreds of kΩ, a boost type represented by the Rosen-type
[0004]
Since these piezoelectric transformer elements have higher energy density than electromagnetic transformers, they can be expected to be smaller than electromagnetic transformers with the same output. It is known that the output power Pout of this piezoelectric transformer element is roughly proportional to the product of mass m, vibration velocity V square, electromechanical coupling coefficient k square, and drive frequency f as shown in the following equation (1). ing.
[0005]
[Expression 1]
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the conventional piezoelectric transformer element described above, according to the
[0007]
On the other hand, the resonance frequency of the piezoelectric vibrator is not limited to the piezoelectric transformer element, and is generally inversely proportional to the dimension. For example, when the length vibration of the rectangular plate is used, the length dimension is changed without changing the cross-sectional shape. When the drive frequency is doubled by halving, the output power should be maintained because f is doubled even if m is halved according to the above equation (1).
[0008]
However, in practice, as shown by the
[0009]
In particular, in the case of the
[0010]
In addition, from the
[0011]
Thus, when miniaturizing the piezoelectric transformer by increasing the frequency, it is necessary to consider the problem of deterioration of the vibrator characteristics due to the deterioration of the shape.
[0012]
Therefore, if an input signal from a single power source is applied to the input parts of a plurality of piezoelectric transformer elements and each output part is connected to a single load, the increase in mass m in the
[0013]
Furthermore, the present inventors examined variations in the resonance frequency of individual piezoelectric transformer elements when driven in parallel as a verification experiment. That is, in the circuit diagram of FIG. 2, analysis was performed in consideration of variation for each circuit element constituting the piezoelectric transformer element. As a result, it was found that the series resonance of the piezoelectric transformer, that is, variations in L and C, greatly affect the output characteristics.
[0014]
For example, FIG. 12 shows the result of calculating the output power and efficiency in consideration of 2% variation in L and C in FIG. In FIG. 12, there is a
[0015]
In actual driving of the piezoelectric transformer element, such a decrease in efficiency is expected to cause an extreme temperature increase, so driving in this region is not preferable.
[0016]
On the other hand, on the high frequency side of the output power peak, the output impedance of each piezoelectric transformer element is considered to be different, but in this region it is near the parallel resonance where the impedance is maximum, so it has a high impedance. Since this is a region, it is considered that large fluctuations in output power are not observed. That is, in the case of parallel driving, in order to avoid variations in the resonance frequency of the individual piezoelectric transformer elements, it is necessary to drive in a higher frequency region from the vicinity of the maximum output power where the output impedance of the piezoelectric transformer increases.
[0017]
Therefore, the technical problem of the present invention is to avoid the influence of the shape, and to obtain a larger output at the same drive frequency, and to maintain the necessary output power when attempting to reduce the size by increasing the frequency. A piezoelectric transformer device and a driving method thereof are provided.
[0018]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, according to the present invention, a plurality of piezoelectric transformer elements using piezoelectric ceramics or a piezoelectric single crystal are provided, and each of the plurality of piezoelectric transformer elements simultaneously inputs driving signals. In order to avoid the influence of the shift of the resonance frequency of each of the plurality of piezoelectric transformer elements, the driving of the piezoelectric transformer elements is provided with an input section for applying to the output and an output section connected in parallel to one load . A piezoelectric transformer device characterized in that it is performed on the higher frequency side than the maximum output driving frequency can be obtained.
[0020]
In addition, according to the present invention, there is provided a driving method of a piezoelectric transformer device including a plurality of piezoelectric transformer elements using piezoelectric ceramics or a piezoelectric single crystal, wherein each input portion of the plurality of piezoelectric transformer elements is used for driving. Apply input signals simultaneously in parallel, connect one load to each output unit in parallel, and output the drive of the piezoelectric transformer elements to avoid the influence of the resonance frequency shift of each of the plurality of piezoelectric transformer elements A method of driving a piezoelectric transformer device characterized in that the driving is performed on a higher frequency side than the maximum driving frequency can be obtained.
