電力量計に通信機能を付加することにより、各需要家毎の積算電力量を管理センター等の遠隔地で自動的かつ集約的に検針する自動検針又は集中検針機能を持たせたり、需要家単位毎に設置されている電力量計を基点としてエアコンやビデオ等の各種電気機器を外出先等から入切指令する際の信号中継機能や、時間帯で料金の異なる電力使用量を管理センター等で契約時間帯毎に集計し確認する機能、あるいは、屋内に設置の防犯カメラのスイッチを屋外から入り操作して屋内状況を遠隔監視するセキュリティ機能を持たせたりするなど単なる電力量の積算機能だけでなく、電力供給業務の運営上及び日常生活を営む上で有意義な多種多様な機能を持たせて電力量計を電気電力供給事業者及び需要家双方にとって頗る有効に利用することが可能である。

このような有用性のある通信機能付き電力量計として、従来、回転子円板の回転測定により電力を計量し、その計量値を指針又は現字表示する計器駆動部分を備えてなる誘導型電力量計に、回転子円板の一回転に対して一定数の電気的パルスを発生するパルス発信装置を組込み、このパルス発信装置からのパルス信号をデータ処理装置に送ってデータ処理する、あるいは、遠隔位置の表示装置に送って表示することにより、自動検針又は集中検針を行えるようにしたものが知られている(例えば、非特許文献1参照)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記非特許文献1に記載されている従来の電力量計は、通信機能装置として組み込まれているものが自動検針又は集中検針専用のパルス発信装置であって、上述したような信号中継機能やセキュリティ機能等といった電力量計本来の機能とは直接関係ない多種多様な機能を持たせることができず、通信機能の付加による有効利用範囲が狭い。その上、信頼度の高い検針機能を発揮させる必要性からパルス発信装置の発信パルス数が計器駆動部分における回転子円板の回転数に正確に比例するようにそのパルス発信装置を箱状ケース内部に電力量計器本体と一体の状態で組み込まなければならないために、計量法で規定されている10年1サイクル毎に電力量計の検定を受ける場合、ケース及びパルス発信装置を含めた電力量計全体を取り外して検定を受け、修理すれば次のサイクルにも繰り返し使用可能と判定された場合でも、その取り外した電力量計全体を対象にして修理する必要があって、検定・修理に纏わる作業自体が複雑面倒であるとともに、その作業に余分な時間及びコストがかかり、また、検定の結果で交換が必要と判定された場合には、故障等がなくて未だ十分に使用可能な状態にあるパルス発信装置を含めて電力量計全体を交換しなければならず、電気電力供給事業者における経済的負担が非常に大きくなるという問題があった。

本発明は上記実情に鑑みてなされたもので、自動又は集中検針機能はもとより、信号中継機能やセキュリティ機能等の多種多様な機能を発揮する通信端局をそれの駆動用電源も含めて既設の電力量計に対しても随時簡単容易に、かつ、計量本体部に何ら負担をかけないで付加することができるとともに、電力量計の検定・修理に纏わる作業の容易化及び交換必要時における経済的負担を最小限に抑制することができ、しかも、通信機能を付加して使用する際、確実な悪戯防止を図ることができる通信機能付き電力量計を提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、本発明に係る通信機能付き電力量計は、電力配電線及び需要家屋内配線を電気接続可能な複数組の端子を収納している端子ブロックを下部に備えた電力量の計量本体部を上記端子ブロックの前面が露出する状態で箱状ケースに内蔵してなる電力量計に通信機能を付加して構成される通信機能付き電力量計であって、通信端局及び通信用電源ユニットを備え電力量計の正面側から箱状ケースに対して着脱可能でその装着状態において上記端子ブロックの前面を覆うカバーに、上記通信用電源ユニットに接続されたプラグが後方へ向け突設されているとともに、上記電力量計側の端子ブロックには、上記カバーの箱状ケースへの装着時に、該カバー側のプラグを差込み可能で、その差込み状態で一組の端子に電気接続可能なコンセントが形成され、上記カバーには、箱状ケースの左右両側板部の外面に沿って上方へ向けて延びる左右一対の枠板が設けられており、これら左右一対の枠板の上端部間に亘って通信端局が連結固定され、かつ、端子ブロックの前面を覆うカバーに通信用電源ユニットが内装されていることを特徴とするものである。
