Claims (27)
- 無線通信システムにおいて、受信信号の電力制御ループの設定点を調整する方法であって、
受信された1つ以上のフレームを所定のデコードスキームにしたがってデコードして1つ以上のデコードフレームを提供することと、
前記1つ以上のデコードフレームのために、再エンコードされた電力メトリックと、修正ヤマモトメトリックとのうちの1つを少なくとも含む1つ以上のメトリックを取得することと、
前記1つ以上のメトリックのうちの少なくとも何れかに基づいて前記設定点を調整することと
を備える方法。 - 前記1つ以上のメトリックの各々は、それぞれの基準に基づいて、前記デコードフレームの信頼度を示す請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記再エンコードされた電力メトリックは、デコードフレームを再エンコードすることによって生成されるシンボルと、受信されたフレームにおけるシンボルとの間の相関を示す請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記修正ヤマモトメトリックは、選択されたデコードフレームと、2番目に最良のデコードフレームとに基づいて、デコードフレームの信頼度を示す請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記1つ以上のメトリックが、前記デコードフレームの低い信頼度を示すのであれば、前記設定点が増加される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記無線通信システムは、cdma2000規格またはW−CDMA規格またはそれら両方に適合するCDMAシステムである請求項1に記載の方法。
- 各デコードフレームについて、前記設定点よりも高いフレームの受信信号品質を示す電力過剰か、または、前記設定点よりも低いフレームの受信信号品質を示す電力不足かを判定することを更に備え、
前記設定点は、前記判定された電力過剰または電力不足に基づいて調整される請求項1に記載の方法。 - 各デコードフレームについて、前記1つ以上のメトリックと、前記電力過剰または電力不足とのうちの少なくとも何れかに基づいて、前記設定点を調整するためのステップサイズを決定することを更に備え、
前記設定点は、前記決定されたステップサイズに基づいて調整される請求項7に記載の方法。 - 所定の性能レベルを達成するために必要な閾信号品質と前記設定点との間の差を示す設定点過剰または設定点不足を判定することを更に備え、
前記設定点は、前記判定された設定点過剰または設定点不足に基づいて調整される請求項1に記載の方法。 - 各デコードフレームについて、前記1つ以上のメトリックと、前記設定点過剰または設定点不足とのうちの少なくとも何れかに基づいて、前記設定点を調整するためのステップサイズを決定することを更に備え、
前記設定点は、前記決定されたステップサイズに基づいて調整される請求項9に記載の方法。 - 各デコードフレームについて、前記設定点を調整するためのステップサイズを決定することを更に備え、
前記設定点は、前記決定されたステップサイズに基づいて調整される請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記ステップサイズは可変であり、前記1つ以上のメトリックに対する値に基づいている請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記ステップサイズは、前記1つ以上のメトリックによって示されるデコードフレームの信頼度に基づいて決定される請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記1つ以上のメトリックが、前記デコードフレームの高い信頼度を示すのであれば、前記ステップサイズが増加される請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記1つ以上のメトリックが、前記デコードフレームの低い信頼度を示すのであれば、前記ステップサイズが減少される請求項13に記載の方法。
- 無線通信システムにおいて、受信信号の電力制御ループの設定点を調整する方法であって、
受信された1つ以上のフレームを所定のデコードスキームにしたがってデコードして1つ以上のデコードフレームを提供することと、
前記1つ以上のデコードフレームのために、再エンコードされた電力メトリックと、修正ヤマモトメトリックとのうちの1つを少なくとも含む1つ以上のメトリックを取得することと、
前記設定点よりも高い受信信号を示す電力過剰か、または、前記設定点よりも低い受信信号を示す電力不足かを判定することと、
前記1つ以上のメトリックと、前記電力過剰または電力不足とのうちの少なくとも何れかに基づいて前記設定点を調整することと
を備える方法。 - 前記電力過剰または前記電力不足は、各受信フレームについて、フレームの平均受信信号品質と、フレームの設定点とに基づいて判定される請求項16に記載の方法。
- 各デコードフレームについて、前記判定された電力過剰または電力不足に基づいて、前記設定点を調整するためのステップサイズを決定することを更に備え、
前記設定点は、前記決定されたステップサイズに基づいて調整される請求項16に記載の方法。 - 受信されたフレームが正しくデコードされ、前記フレームに電力不足が生じているのであれば、前記ステップサイズは、より大きなスケーリングファクタによってスケールされる請求項16に記載の方法。
- 受信されたフレームが正しくデコードされ、前記フレームに電力過剰が生じているのであれば、前記ステップサイズは、より小さなスケーリングファクタによってスケールされる請求項16に記載の方法。
- 受信されたフレームが消去され、前記フレームに電力過剰が生じているのであれば、前記ステップサイズは、より大きなスケーリングファクタによってスケールされる請求項16に記載の方法。
- 受信されたフレームが消去され、前記フレームに電力不足が生じているのであれば、前記ステップサイズは、より小さなスケーリングファクタによってスケールされる請求項16に記載の方法。
- 無線通信システムで使用される電力制御ユニットであって、
受信されたフレームを所定のデコードスキームにしたがってデコードし、デコードフレームを提供するように構成されたデコーダと、
前記1つ以上のデコードフレームのために、再エンコードされた電力メトリックと、修正ヤマモトメトリックとのうちの1つを少なくとも含む1つ以上のメトリックを提供するように構成されたメトリック計算ユニットと、
前記デコードフレームに対する1つ以上のメトリックを受け取り、前記1つ以上のメトリックのうちの少なくとも何れかに基づいて電力制御ループの設定点を調整するように構成された電力制御プロセッサとを備え、
前記設定点は、前記受信されたフレームに対する目標受信信号品質を示す電力制御ユニット。 - 前記受信されたフレームに対するシンボルを受け取り、処理することによって、前記受信されたフレームに対する受信信号品質を評価するように構成された信号品質測定ユニットを更に備え、
前記電力制御プロセッサは更に、前記受信信号品質の評価を受け取り、前記受信信号品質が前記設定点に対して電力過剰であるか、または電力不足であるかを判定し、前記判定された電力過剰または電力不足に基づいて前記設定点を調整するように構成された請求項23に記載の電力制御ユニット。 - 各デコードフレームについて、前記電力制御プロセッサが、前記1つ以上のメトリックに対する値に基づく所定量によって前記設定点を調整するように構成された請求項23に記載の電力制御ユニット。
- CDMAシステムの順方向リンクにおいて動作可能な請求項23に記載の電力制御ユニット。
- CDMAシステムの逆方向リンクにおいて動作可能な請求項23に記載の電力制御ユニット。
