【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a fuel tank arrangement structure for a scooter type vehicle.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Some scooter type vehicles have a relatively large size in which an upper frame is suspended downward from a head pipe and a fuel tank is disposed along the lower surface of the upper frame. As this type of scooter type vehicle, for example, Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 10-203457 “Motorcycle” (hereinafter referred to as “conventional technology”) is known.
[0003]
In the above conventional technique, as shown in FIG. 24 of the publication, the main pipe 61 is suspended downward from the lower part of the head pipe 3 (the numbers are those cited in the publication. The same applies hereinafter), A pair of left and right down tubes 62, 62 are suspended downward from the upper part of the head pipe 3, and the lower ends of these down tubes 62, 62 are extended rearward and coupled to the main pipe 61. The front portions of the left and right down tubes 62, 62 hang down so as to straddle the main pipe 61 passing through the center of the vehicle width.
[0004]
Further, the conventional technique is provided with a space surrounded by a main pipe 61 (corresponding to an upper frame) and left and right down tubes 62, 62 as shown in FIGS. The present invention relates to a scooter type vehicle in which a fuel tank 8 is arranged along a main pipe 61 and down tubes 62 and 62 in this space.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, some scooter type vehicles have a fuel tank 8 arranged on the floor as shown in FIG. 8 of the above-mentioned prior art. However, if the frame is reinforced to increase the rigidity of the frame, the fuel tank The space for arranging 8 is limited. On the other hand, a large scooter type vehicle is required to have frame rigidity, and in order to increase the travel distance, the capacity of the fuel tank is required to be increased as much as possible.
[0006]
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a technology capable of further increasing the capacity of the fuel tank by devising the arrangement of the vehicle body frame and effectively utilizing the limited space while ensuring the rigidity of the vehicle body frame. There is.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the first aspect of the present invention includes a pair of left and right upper frames hanging downward from the head pipe, and a pair of left and right down tubes hanging downward from the head pipe below the pair of upper frames. By extending the lower end of the down tube to the rear and coupling it to the lower part of the pair of upper frames, a space portion having a substantially triangular shape in side view surrounded by the pair of upper frames and the pair of down tubes is provided. And a fuel tank arrangement of a scooter type vehicle in which a taper-shaped fuel tank that rises forward is arranged along the down tube, and a lower part of the fuel tank is bulged and covered with a detachable underframe located below the down tube Structure.
[0008]
A pair of left and right upper frames and a pair of left and right down tubes provide a substantially triangular space portion with a tapered front view on the front, so that the frame rigidity is improved, but the space portion has a substantially triangular shape when viewed from the side. Storage space is reduced.
[0009]
In order to effectively use the space portion of the front upper portion, the front upper portion of the fuel tank is tapered. Accordingly, the capacity of the fuel tank can be increased. Furthermore, since the pair of upper frames are arranged on the left and right, the frame rigidity is improved and the upper part of the fuel tank can be extended to the space between the upper frames to increase the tank capacity. Furthermore, since the lower part of the fuel tank is covered with a detachable underframe, the fuel tank can be protected even if the fuel tank is extended below the down tube to increase the capacity. In this way, the capacity of the fuel tank can be increased by making maximum use of the limited space.
In addition, since the fuel tank has a substantially triangular shape and is tapered forward, the center of gravity is on the lower side. By installing such a low center of gravity fuel tank, the center of gravity of the motorcycle can be lowered.
[0010]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, the fuel tank has a hermetically sealed cap at the fuel filler opening, and a breather sub-tank is provided on the upper part. A breather hose having one end connected to the breather sub-tank is disposed along the fuel tank. , It is characterized by passing between the upper frame and the down tube.
By providing the breather sub-tank above the fuel filler port provided with the hermetic cap, the fuel tank can be fueled up to the level of the fuel filler port. The amount supplied to the fuel tank can be increased by the increase in the fuel supply level.
[0011]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, the other end of the breather hose having one end connected to the breather sub-tank is bifurcated.
Even when one of the other ends branched in a bifurcated manner is clogged, the other can be ventilated. As a result, the air permeability between the sub tank and the atmosphere can be more reliably ensured.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, the rear heat shield is a rubber sheet. As a result, it can be freely deformed, can be easily and easily arranged in a narrow space around the fuel tank, and can be manufactured at low cost because the shape can be extremely simple.
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, a hook for attaching the rear heat shield plate to the underframe is provided. As a result, the lower part of the fuel tank bulged to reach a position below the down tube can be reliably covered with the rear heat shield.
According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, the underframe includes left and right side members extending along the down tube and at least one cross member spanned between the left and right side members. The

【The invention's effect】
The present invention exhibits the following effects by the above configuration.
According to the first aspect, the pair of left and right upper frames are hung down from the head pipe downward, the pair of left and right down tubes are hung down from the head pipe below the pair of upper frames, and the lower ends of the down tubes are moved backward. By extending and coupling to the lower portions of the pair of upper frames, a space portion having a substantially triangular shape in side view surrounded by the pair of upper frames and the pair of down tubes can be provided, so that the frame rigidity is improved. Since the front part is tapered in side view, the part becomes narrower.
[0072]
And in order to make the most of the narrow space part of this front upper part, the fuel tank is arranged in the space part as a tank that rises forward along the upper frame and the down tube, so the capacity of the fuel tank Can be increased. Furthermore, since the pair of upper frames are arranged on the left and right, the upper part of the fuel tank can be extended to the space between these upper frames, thereby increasing the tank capacity. Furthermore,Since the lower part of the fuel tank is bulged to reach a position below the down tube in side view, the capacity of the fuel tank can be increased by that amount.
In addition, it swelled to a size that reaches a position below the down tube.Since the lower part of the fuel tank is covered with a detachable underframe, the fuel tank can be protected even if the fuel tank is extended below the down tube to increase the capacity. In this way, the capacity of the fuel tank can be increased by making maximum use of the limited space.
[0073]
In addition, since the fuel tank has a substantially triangular shape and is tapered forward, the center of gravity is on the lower side. By installing such a low center of gravity fuel tank, the center of gravity of the motorcycle can be lowered. The
In addition, since the rear heat shield covering the rear surface of the bulged portion is disposed, the degree of thermal influence from the engine on the bulged portion at the lower portion of the fuel tank can be reduced.
[0074]
According to the second aspect of the present invention, in the fuel tank, by providing the breather sub-tank above the fuel filler port provided with the hermetic cap, the fuel tank can be refueled to the level of the fuel filler port. The amount supplied to the fuel tank can be increased by the increase in the fuel supply level.
Also, the breather hose with one end connected to the breather sub-tank was routed along the fuel tank and between the left and right upper frames and between the left and right down tubes, so that it covered the bottom of the fuel tank. After extending to the rear right end portion of the under cover, it can be opened to the atmosphere.
[0075]
According to the third aspect, since the other end of the breather hose having one end connected to the breather sub-tank is bifurcated, even if one of the two other ends is clogged, the other is ventilated. be able to. As a result, the air permeability between the sub tank and the atmosphere can be more reliably ensured.
