Description
The present invention relates to a melt blow spinning apparatus capable of obtaining ultrafine flexible long fibers (filaments) and a melt blow spinning method for obtaining ultra fine flexible long fibers.
A melt blow method, which is a method for producing fine long fibers, is as shown in FIG.
Since FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention, the description of the portions according to the invention is omitted here.
First, a raw material chip of thermoplastic polymer is put into a
In the vicinity of the lower end of the polymer passage, the molten polymer flowing through the polymer passage is drawn with an accompanying force by a large amount of wind discharged from a discharge slit provided in the
The fiber thus obtained is cooled through the
Here, in order to obtain fibers with high texture and good texture, it is important to reduce the diameter of the fibers. Reducing the diameter of the fibers is an issue to be tackled by fiber manufacturers.
As a method for obtaining a fiber having a small diameter, there are a composite fiber spinning method such as a sea island type, a split fiber type, a laser heating spinning method, an electrostatic spinning method, but the physical and chemical processes are complicated. There is a problem that it takes time and manufacturing costs are increased.
Therefore, it is required to obtain fibers with a fine diameter directly by the melt blow method.
By the way, in the conventional spinning blow die in the melt blow method, the molten polymer is stretched by an accompanying force by hot air discharged from a pair of hot air discharge slits provided close to both sides near the lower end of the polymer passage of the spinning die.
Therefore, in order to reduce the fiber diameter, a large amount of hot air was consumed, and the manufacturing cost was high.
In addition, it is difficult to obtain a fiber with a desired diameter by adjusting the balance between the discharge amount of the molten polymer from the polymer passage and the discharge amount from the hot air slit. I had to adjust the delicate balance.
Therefore, as described in
A pair of hot air discharge slits on the upstream side of the polymer passage, which are inclined with a downward slope toward the discharge port for discharging hot air, the discharge ports facing each other in the vicinity of the lower end of the polymer passage,
A pair of cold air discharge slits on the downstream side of the polymer passage, which are inclined with a downward slope toward the discharge port for discharging the cold air, and the discharge ports face each other in the vicinity of the lower end of the polymer passage,
A cooling fluid supply passage is provided between the hot air discharge slit and the cold air discharge slit to open each polymer passage to the outside air, so that the discharge air amount of the cold air discharge slit is larger than the discharge air amount of the hot air discharge slit. A melt blow spinning die that supplies air under control has been proposed.
When the molten polymer is supplied to the polymer passage of such a spinning die, first, the molten polymer is sandwiched from the polymer spout at the lower end of the polymer passage by the accompanying force of the hot air discharged from the opposite outlet of the hot air discharge slit. It is pulled out.
Next, since a large amount of cold air is discharged from the opposite discharge port of the cold air discharge slit, a negative pressure is generated due to the difference in the air volume between the hot air and the cold air, and thereby the molten polymer drawn out earlier is sucked toward the lower end of the spinning die. And stretched rapidly.
In this way, since the molten polymer is not cooled and the necessary minimum hot air is applied to smoothly reduce the diameter, the structure is drawn by the negative pressure generated by a large amount of cold air. Regardless of this, it is possible to obtain a long fiber having a very small diameter simply and at low cost without consuming a large amount of hot air, and by adjusting the balance between the hot air and cold air as appropriate.
By the way, conventionally, when obtaining a long fiber by the melt blow method, it is often performed to apply a cooling fluid such as water vapor to the molten polymer.
Thus, when the fiber after spinning is rapidly cooled with the cooling fluid, the heat remaining in the fiber is removed, the crystallization of the fiber is suppressed, and the stretchability and flexibility of the fiber are improved.
Here, in the spinning die of
However, in the conventional structure in which cooling is performed below the spinning die, there is a time span from spinning to cooling, and thus there is a problem that crystallization proceeds due to heat remaining in the fibers during that time.
Therefore, it is necessary to bring the cooling point of the fiber closer to the drawing point of the fiber in order to further suppress crystallization and further improve the drawability and flexibility of the fiber.
In view of this, the present invention provides a means for reducing the time span between fiber drawing and fiber cooling when spinning by the melt blow method, thereby suppressing crystallization, further miniaturizing the fiber diameter, and increasing flexibility. The realization of this is the issue.
In order to solve the above-described problems, the melt blow spinning apparatus according to the present invention has the following configuration.
That is, the spinning die is inclined with a downward slope toward a plurality of parallel polymer passages through which the molten polymer flows from the polymer inlet toward the polymer outlet at the lower end and a discharge outlet for discharging hot air. A pair of hot air discharge slits on the upstream side of the polymer passage facing each other in the vicinity of the lower end of the polymer passage, and a downward slope toward the discharge outlet for discharging the cold air, and the discharge outlet is on both sides in the vicinity of the lower end of the polymer passage. And a pair of cold air discharge slits on the downstream side of the polymer passage facing each other, and a cooling fluid supply passage that is between the hot air discharge slit and the cold air discharge slit and supplies a cooling fluid to the polymer passage.
Then, air is supplied to the spinning die by the spinning air supply device so that the discharge air amount of the cold air discharge slit is larger than the discharge air amount of the hot air discharge slit.
Further, the cooling fluid supply device applies the cooling fluid to the molten polymer flowing through each polymer passage through the cooling fluid supply passage of the spinning die.
When molten polymer is injected from the polymer inlet of the polymer passage of the spinning die by an extruder, the molten polymer descending the polymer passage comes into contact with hot air discharged from the outlet of the hot air discharge slit and is drawn out by the accompanying force.
And by the negative pressure which arises from the difference in the air volume of a hot-air discharge slit and a cold-air discharge slit, the draw | extracted molten polymer is extended | stretched rapidly, and it becomes a long fiber and is sent out from a polymer spout.
In this process, the molten polymer is cooled by the cooling fluid fed through the cooling fluid supply path of the spinning die.
As described above, since fiber spinning and cooling are performed almost simultaneously, crystallization due to heat is suppressed, stretchability is improved, and flexible long fibers having a finer diameter can be obtained.
In addition, this fiber has an excellent crimp texture.
And since the problem of crystallization was solved in this way, when a nonwoven fabric is formed from this fiber, it will become very excellent in toughness.
Here, if the gap between the hot air discharge slit of the spinning die and the discharge port of the cold air discharge slit is too open, the generated negative pressure is reduced and the stretchability is lowered.
For this reason, the upper and lower widths of the cooling fluid supply passage located between the hot air discharge slit and the cold air discharge slit cannot be taken so large.
On the other hand, if the upper and lower widths of the cooling fluid supply path are too narrow, sufficient cooling is not performed, heat remains in the fibers, and crystallization proceeds.
Therefore, if the upper and lower widths in the vicinity of the cooling fluid supply passage communicating with the polymer passage are formed from 10 mm to 30 mm, sufficient cooling is performed by the cooling fluid and a sufficient negative pressure for stretching is obtained.
The cooling fluid supply device has a mist generating device. When the cooling liquid made into a mist shape by the mist generating device is fed to the spinning die, the mist is excellent in diffusibility, so that the polymer is uniformly cooled.
In addition, after the molten polymer is cooled, the mist-like cooling liquid flies from the polymer spout to the outside air after spinning of the fiber due to the negative pressure generated by the difference in the air volume discharged from the hot air discharge slit and the cold air discharge slit. And hardly remains on the fiber.
Therefore, it is not necessary to remove the cooling liquid remaining on the fibers by using a special apparatus or the like, and the processing is easy and the cost is not increased.
As such a mist-like cooling liquid, it is preferable to use steam because it is inexpensive and harmless even if it remains in the fiber.
In addition, when a mist-like spinning oil is used as the cooling liquid, it is cooled and the oil agent is applied in the fibers, so that the slippage between the fibers is improved, the stretchability is improved, and fuzz is prevented, Generation of static electricity is also suppressed.
And if this spinning oil agent is also provided so as to control the remaining amount, it will be useful in the post-process of the fiber.
The spinning die cooling fluid supply passage is made up of a pair of cooling fluid supply slits facing both sides of the parallel polymer passage, and these cooling fluid supply slits lead to a plurality of parallel polymer passages. When the oil supply device is connected to one or both of these, the molten polymer flowing through the plurality of polymer passages can be simultaneously cooled by flowing the cooling fluid through the pair of slits, which is efficient.
Moreover, since the structure is simple, the manufacturing cost of the spinning die can be reduced.
When the cooling fluid supply device is connected to only one side of the cooling fluid supply slit, the cooling of the molten polymer due to the contact of the cooling fluid is biased (so-called uneven cooling state), so that the crimp is particularly large. Fibers with a good texture can be easily obtained.
The spinning die is composed of an upstream die provided with a hot air discharge slit and a downstream die provided with a cold air discharge slit, and the upstream and downstream dies are arranged with the upstream die on the upper side and the downstream die on the lower side. If it is connected to the side with a bolt or the like at a predetermined interval, a cooling fluid supply slit can be easily formed between the hot air discharge slit and the cold air discharge slit, and the manufacture is easy.
The cooling fluid supply device includes a mist generating device and a hollow flat surface in which a mist inlet at the rear end is connected to the mist generating device, a horizontal width is widened toward a mist outlet in which almost the entire top surface of the front end is opened, and a vertical width is narrowed. Supply hood.
Then, the supply hood is inserted into one or both of the cooling fluid supply slits of the spinning die, the mist outlet is brought close to the polymer passage, and the mist-like cooling liquid is applied to the molten polymer immediately after exiting the mist outlet. In this case, the mist is prevented from diffusing into the atmosphere before adhering to the polymer, and the fibers are efficiently cooled without waste.
Moreover, since the vertical width of the front end side of the supply hood is narrow, it is easy to insert into the cooling fluid supply slit, and since the horizontal width is wide, a mist-like cooling liquid can be fed into a large number of parallel polymer passages with one supply hood. Therefore, efficiency is good.
And since the rear end side of the supply hood has a wide vertical width, relatively thick pipes, hoses and the like can be connected, and a large amount of cooling fluid can be supplied from the mist generator.
Here, when the supply hood is inserted into only one of the cooling fluid supply slits and cooled, fibers having a particularly large crimp and good texture can be obtained as described above.
Here, when the mist-like cooling fluid rises from the mist outlet on the top surface of the front end of the supply hood and is adjusted so that the cooling fluid is applied to the molten polymer from a position 3 mm to 8 mm from the lower end of the hot air discharge slit. The crystallization is sufficiently suppressed by being cooled substantially simultaneously with the start of stretching.
As described above, a cooling fluid supply passage is provided between the hot air discharge slit and the cold air discharge slit of the spinning die, and the cooling fluid is fed from the cooling fluid supply passage to cool the fibers almost simultaneously with the fiber drawing. As a result, the fiber crystallization due to residual heat is suppressed, the stretchability is improved, and the fiber diameter is further refined and softened.

The configuration of the
First, the polymer p melted by the
The molten polymer p descends the
Further, the spinning oil m that has been cooled in the
As shown in FIG. 5, the spinning oil m fed from the
The spinning oil agent m absorbs moisture such as nylon (registered trademark) using an aqueous solution (so-called emulsion) containing about 10% to 12% of water-soluble oil when spinning fibers such as polyester that are not affected by moisture. When spinning the expanding fiber, a non-aqueous spinning oil is used.
The molten polymer p descending the
Next, as indicated by the length of the arrow in FIG. 5, the amount of air discharged from the
Since the upper and lower widths of the cooling fluid supply slit 14 of the spinning die 10 are about 10 mm to 30 mm, both the
Therefore, the negative pressure generated is very large. Due to this negative pressure, the molten polymer p drawn by the hot air is abruptly drawn into long fibers f.
At this time, the melted polymer p drawn from the lower surface opening of the
Here, as shown in the drawing, the distance d between the adhesion start point of the spinning oil m to the polymer p and the
Since it is cooled by the adhesion of the spinning oil m and crystallization is suppressed by cooling, the stretchability of the polymer p is improved and the flexibility is also increased.
Further, since slipping is not good due to the application of the oil agent, the stretchability is further improved, the fluffing of the fibers f is prevented, and the generation of static electricity is also suppressed.
For this reason, ultrafine flexible long fibers f are formed and fed out from the
Here, since the spinning oil agent m is in a mist shape, the negative pressure generated in the
In this embodiment, the cooled spinning oil m is used as the cooling fluid, but water vapor or the like may be used instead.
In the case of water vapor, even if it remains in the fiber after spinning, it is safe because it is harmless, and there is no need for post-treatment.
Further, in the embodiment, the spinning fluid m is supplied from both cooling fluid supply slits 14, but it may be supplied from only one side, and in this case, since it is in an unevenly cooled state, the texture with a particularly large crimp is good. Fiber can be obtained.
In the embodiment, the spinning die 10 is formed of the
