【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところが、従来のミシンの送り駆動装置においては、連結部材がミシンベッドの外側に配置されているので、駆動時に発生する騒音が高くなり、作業者に不快感を与えていた。また連結部材としてチェーンとスプロケットが用いられているので、摩耗が激しく、布地の噛み込みにも注意を払う必要があった。この問題を回避するために連結部材としてタイミングベルトを用いると、駆動変化に応じてタイミングベルトが伸縮してしまい、ローラ送りにムラが生じていた。
従って、本発明の課題は、駆動時に発生する騒音を低減すると共に布地の噛み込みを防止することのできるミシンの送り駆動装置を提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、上記目的を達成するために、水平に軸支されウォームを固定した下軸と、該ウォームに噛合うウォームホイールを固定した第1駆動軸と、ギヤ部材を介して第1駆動軸に連結される第2駆動軸と、連結部材を介して第2駆動軸に連結されミシンベッドに配置される駆動ローラと、ミシンベッド上で駆動ローラに対向配置される従動ローラを備え、ミシン駆動時に駆動ローラを回転させてミシンベッド上の布地に送り運動を付与するミシンの布送り駆動装置において、第2駆動軸と第1駆動軸とを鉛直方向で平行に配置するとともにギヤ部材をミシンベッド内に配置し、連結部材をミシンベッド内の上部に配置するようにしたことを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明に係る実施の形態を図面を用いて説明する。図1は本発明に適用されるミシンの送り駆動装置の要部を示す概要斜視図である。ミシンベッド1内で水平に支承された下軸には、ウォーム2が固定されている。下軸のウォーム2は、第1駆動軸3に固定されたウォームホイール4と噛み合っている。第1駆動軸3はミシンベッド1内で支承され、その支承方向は鉛直に沿っている。第1駆動軸3の下端は平歯車5aを備えている。平歯車5aは第2駆動軸6の下端に固定された平歯車5bと噛み合っており、第2駆動軸6は鉛直方向に延びている。つまり第1駆動軸3と第2駆動軸6とはミシンベッド1内で平行に配置されており、両部材3,6の連結は平歯車5a,5bよりなるギヤ部材5によって行われている。なお平歯車5bの歯数は平歯車5aのものより多くなっている。

以上のように、本発明によれば、駆動時に発生する騒音を低減するので、作業者に不快感を与えることがない。また第2駆動軸と第1駆動軸とを連結するギヤ部材をミシンベッド内に配置させているので、布地の噛込みを防ぐことができ、耐久性も向上させることができる。さらにミシンベッドの上方より連結部材のパーツを交換して駆動ローラの回動量を変更できるので、縫製仕様の変更に対して迅速に対応できる。
