【従来の技術】
従来の技術において、例えば、マルチ研削盤ような研削盤では、砥石車が複数列設されており、しかも、そのため取付け・取外しが面倒となるので、砥石車の寿命を長期化させるべく、砥石車は大径となっている。

そこで、通常の研削盤においては、砥石車の取付け・取外しは側方から行われるのであるが、上記のようなマルチ研削盤ように砥石車全体が大形で、且つ軸方向に複数列設されていると、側方からの砥石車の取付け・取外しが困難であり、そのような場合には、砥石車の取付け・取外しは、上方から行われている。
その場合、図8及び図9に示すような構造のカバー装置が用いられている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記の従来の技術におけるカバー装置では、研削盤前面の作業者側への研削液の飛散は工作物カバー51により防止されるが、砥石車カバー53は、砥石台55に取り付けられているので、砥石台55と共に前進後退する上、大径の砥石車52を上から覆っているため、工作物Wと砥石車52との間では、即ち工作物カバー51との間に隙間Cが生じてしまう。従って、飛散する研削液がその隙間から霧状となって外部に飛び出し、作業環境を悪くする。

この発明の研削盤における加工域用カバー装置は、砥石車を回転自在に支承し、工作物に対して進退移動可能にベッドに支持された砥石台と、前記砥石車の上部を覆い、工作物側が上方後側に旋回して砥石車上部を開閉自在に前記砥石台上に支持された砥石車カバーとを備えた研削盤、例えば、砥石台に砥石車がその軸方向に複数支持されているマルチ研削盤において、前記工作物側のベッドに固定設置され、工作物を覆うと共に、前記砥石台と前記砥石車カバーの工作物側前方部とを覆うカバーからなり、このカバーの砥石台側上部は砥石車カバーの旋回開口動作を許容するように砥石台側が上方前側に旋回可能に設けられた開閉自在な蓋体を備えている。

マルチ研削盤は、図1及び図2に示すように、ベッド1に一体的に形成されるか又はベッド1上に左右動され得るテーブル2とテーブル2に対し前進後退され得る砥石台3とが前後になって設けられている。テーブル2には、主軸台4及び心押台5が対向して備えられていると共に定寸装置6a及び振れ止め装置6bも備えられ、砥石台3には、複数の砥石車7,7・・・列設されていると共に、先端縁部に各砥石車に対応した研削液ノズル8,8・・・を備えた砥石車カバー9が設けられている。
