Description
【0001】

[Industrial application fields]
The present invention relates to a two-dimensional array probe for an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus that improves the directivity of an ultrasonic beam and can obtain sufficient sensitivity even when the ultrasonic beam is largely deflected.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As shown in FIG. 4, the conventional two-
[0003]
On the other hand, when the transducer element is circular, the intensity distribution R of the ultrasonic wave emitted from one element is such that the radius of the vibrator is a, the wavelength of the emitted ultrasonic wave is λ, and the direction from the center of the main lobe When the angle is θ and J 1 (x) is a primary Bessel function, it is expressed by the following equations (1) and (2).
[0004]
[0005]
That is, the ultrasonic beam emitted from the transducer element has directivity as shown in FIG. The conventional two-dimensional array probe is configured by arranging the transducer elements two-dimensionally.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the above-described conventional two-dimensional array probe, when transmitting / receiving ultrasonic waves from each transducer, it is usual to deflect the ultrasonic beam (steering, focusing) by controlling the phase difference. In this case, since the ultrasonic beam radiated from each transducer element has directivity that the intensity of the
[0007]
As a method for obtaining sufficient sensitivity in such a region, it is conceivable to make the ultrasonic beam close to omnidirectional by reducing the radius a of the transducer element. However, as the frequency of the ultrasonic wave is increased, the fine processing is performed. Since it is required, there is a problem that it is actually difficult to manufacture. On the other hand, as the transducer element is made smaller, the output intensity of the ultrasonic wave is lowered, so that there is a problem that the signal-to-noise ratio of the reflected ultrasonic wave is lowered.
[0008]
Therefore, the present invention provides an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus that can obtain sufficient sensitivity even in a region with a large deflection angle by improving the directivity of the emitted ultrasonic beam without reducing the transducer element so much. An object is to provide a dimensional array probe.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, a two-dimensional array probe according to the present invention includes a transducer that emits an ultrasonic beam and an acoustic lens disposed on the ultrasonic radiation surface side of the transducer. The vibrator has a plurality of vibrator elements arranged two-dimensionally, and the acoustic lens is individually formed for each vibrator element. The ultrasonic radiation surface of each acoustic lens is composed of a single curved surface or a collection of curved surfaces so as to diffuse the ultrasonic beam emitted from the corresponding transducer element.
[0010]
Here, the acoustic lens includes a plurality of lens bodies individually formed for each transducer element, and the ultrasonic radiation surface of each lens body can be formed in a convex shape or a concave shape. Alternatively, the acoustic lens includes one lens body corresponding to a plurality of transducer elements, and the lens body has, for each transducer element, an ultrasonic radiation surface corresponding to the transducer element that is convex or concave. Can be formed.
[0011]
Further, the vibrator can include an independent piezoelectric body for each vibrator element.
[0012]
Alternatively, the vibrator has one piezoelectric body corresponding to a plurality of vibrator elements and electrode plates arranged on both surfaces of the piezoelectric body, and an electrode pattern is arranged in an array on at least one of the two electrode plates. It can also be formed. When an arrayed electrode pattern is formed on one electrode plate, one of the two electrode plates can be a common electrode.
[0013]
A single piezoelectric member or a composite piezoelectric member can be used for the one piezoelectric plate.
[0014]
The two-dimensional array probe may further include a protective film disposed on the ultrasonic radiation surface side of the acoustic lens so as to cover the acoustic lens.
[0015]
[Action]
In the two-dimensional array probe having the above configuration, since the ultrasonic beam is diffused for each transducer element, the width of the main lobe of the ultrasonic beam can be widened and the directivity can be improved. Sufficient sensitivity can be obtained even when the angle is increased.

【The invention's effect】
Since the two-dimensional array probe having the above configuration diffuses the ultrasonic beam for each transducer element, the directivity of the emitted ultrasonic wave can be improved without making each transducer element small. Thus, it is possible to solve the problem that the sensitivity is lowered in a region where the deflection angle of the ultrasonic beam is large.
